Miley Cyrus, John Travolta and others came out to the El Capitan Theatre in SoCal yesterday for the Hollywood premiere of their new Disney animated movie Bolt. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals:
Bolt tells the tale of a celeb dog who thinks he has super powers and has to come to grips with the truth that he is just an ordinary dog … blah blah blah … I’m prolly not gonna see it. But I was very surprised to see that Miley‘s “friend” (and 20-year old underwear model) Justin Gaston was not in attendance for the festivities yesterday … especially telling since Billy Ray is now telling the world that Miley and Justin are collaborating on new music together. Here are pics of Justin roaming the streets of SoCal all by his lonesome earlier this week, most prolly missing the Cyrus family:
Billy Ray Cyrus says his 15-year-old daughter Miley and 20-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston are making sweet music together. “I’ll tell you what – they are great friends, and they make a good team,” he told Usmagazine.com at Monday’s Bolt premiere in L.A. “They write a lot of songs together, and they sing – it’s incredible.” … What advice does he have for his daughter? “Make good choices. Do the best you can do – mostly have fun,” he told Us. “I always tell her that as long as she’s having fun, then it’s working. When it starts being work, then it ain’t working,” he added. “She loves what she’s doing. She has a real passion for making music as an artist. She loves being an actress, and we all feel very fortunate being in the Disney family and getting to do both of our loves.”
I suppose I could make a joke about Jiley making beautiful music together but … meh, I won’t. Tho I’m pretty sure that Miley IS having a lot of fun by hanging out with Justin‘s hawt booty. I hope that Justin wasn’t feeling too left out from being uninvited to the Bolt movie premiere … but, then again, what interest would a 20-year old man have in watching an animated Disney film like this? That’s about as absurd as a 20-year old man being interested in a 15-year old girl. Oh wait.

I saw an advance screening of Bolt a few weeks ago and it was absolutely an awesome Disney movie in the great old tradition of Disney. i wouldn’t discount it so quickly.

Giggling in her Ellen interview, Cyrus says the two have been dating for “a couple months.” so what is it? great friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, friends with benefits, other? kind of sick to allow a 20 year old to take advantage of a 15 year old girl. been in that position before. thought i knew what was going on at a mature age 15. nah. her parents need to be smacked upside the head for encouraging this.

You HAVE to go see Bolt. I laughed so hard and I even cried at a couple parts. It’s a great story and movie, as long as you can get past Miley’s hoarse pre-pubescent boy voice as belonging to the animated girl. Go see it. It even promotes animal adoption. You can’t get better than that.

Trent, I really think this is a movie you would want to see. Saw the sneak peek in the theater last weekend, the audience was like half kids and half 20-somethings. I thought it was great, heart-warming, and pretty funny. You should give it a chance.

I think Trent is right to harp on the age thing.
My sis dated a 20 year old when she was 16. They dated for four years and as soon as she was 20, she thought “Ewww…creepy, I can’t imagine being this age and dating a 16 year old!”. She dumped his ass.
And we were supposedly “mature” teenagers, we had full-time jobs and apartments and paid our own bills, since our parents weren’t around. 18 doesn’t make you instantly mature, but I think dating a highschool-age-person when you are past that age is creepy.
I’m especially surprised since she made a big deal on Ellen saying that her “friend” was coming to the Bolt premiere with her…I wonder if they banned him from the premiere after her embarrassing visit on that show.
