Barack Obama Wins The US Presidency!
Will become the 44th President of the United States of America

Yes, We Did! Senator Barack Obama, by most projections, has successfully won the 2008 Presidential campaign and has been elected as the 44th President of the United States of America. I gotta tell ya, and this his the God’s honest truth, I never imagined that the US would elect an African American President in my lifetime. I cannot express … truly … cannot express the immense sense of pride and genuine happiness that Senator Barack Obama has won the White House:

CNN projects that Barack Obama will be the nation’s 44th president. As polls closed on the West coast, the Illinois senator was projected to receive enough electoral votes to pass the 270-vote threshold. Obama is projected to win California, Washington, Oregon and Hawaii. He also is projected to win Virginia, a state that hasn’t voted for a Democratic president since 1964. As Obama built up a commanding lead over Sen. John McCain, senior aides to the Arizona senator were growing pessimistic about his chances. When asked if they saw a path to victory, two senior McCain aides said no.

Here are a few pics from Grant Park in Chicago, IL were the Obama Victory party will be raging all night long:

A few times over the past few weeks I’ve let myself wonder what it would be like to have the Obamas as the First Family and … it’s an amazingly exciting thing to look forward to now. Michelle Obama, as David likes to say, will be the new Jackie O. But the real winner here is America. We have finally decided, as a Nation, to move beyond racial bounds and elect the right person to lead our Country thru these perilous times. I’m literally swelling with pride and happiness. This is a moment that I will remember for the rest of my life. Much love and congrats go out to President-elect Barack Obama! You’ve got a lot of work ahead of you … but I’m confident that you’ll be able to lead our Country toward an amazing new future.

I hope to update this post with video of President-elect Obama‘s victory speech … stay tuned! After the jump, watch the full video of President-elect Barack Obama‘s Victory Speech tonight …

America did good tonight! I’m very much looking forward to an amazing new future for the US of A!

Oh Trent!! I’m really happy and excited for all of you Americans; your post brought me to tears of excitement you really transmitted your feelings and emotions that seemingly are shared by thousands of Americans, I’m so happy that all of you are able to live and experience democracy because sadly it doesn’t exist here in Mexico and I don’t think that I’ll get to experience it any time soon.
    Much Love

yay! I’m a Virginian and this has been a crazy day, week, month, and year for us. I’m so incredibly happy to have Obama as president. I’m amazed that Ol’ Virginny pulled it out. I’m even more amazed at the response from non-Americans on here. It just goes to show that if the rest of the world is ready, its about time the USA catches up! Obama/Biden 2012 :o)

i totally agree with devin and frank. i am disappointed with this election. this was clearly popularity and not experience and that is sad. i think many people who woted for obama only did so to see the 1st black president. i have no problem that he is black, but i do have a problem with lack of experience. we’ll see how things go….i just wonder what all the people who voted for barack will say if shit does hit the fan, that’ll be interesting.

lol people are so obsessed with their ~experience. George had none and still became a president.

Congrats to Obama for making history. I think both candidates sucked but it was the matter of the lesser of two evils I guess. I honestly do not feel this will change anything other than history of having a black president. I can not bring myself to support Obama as I do not trust him but I do trust our new VP and so I will keep faith in that.

    Democracy= majority rules= popularity

I love how Obama cheerleaders are already saying he won’t be able to do everything he promised. That’s not what HE said. This is hilarious. Let the excuses begin. And before you bash me, I’m not saying that because he’s black. I don’t care if he’s purple, I feel the man has some very, very shady associations, he made tons of broad promises without clear specifics, and he needs to come more to the center if he wants to last past his 15 minutes of fame.

I’m so happy for all of us but Barack looked pretty shook up. It’s sad that neither his grandmother nor his mother were able to witness this amazing accomplishment.

    Yes America!!!!! Yes we did!!

thank you America for giving this historical moment to the world. I also got teary and very happy when I found out about the results that I’ve been following so enthusiastically.

    Congratulations America!
Congratulations to President Obama from Austria!

  14. I am certainly excited about what an Obama presidency will bring to our beleaguered nation. He is very articulate to be sure, and seemingly has the intellect and composure to be successful in the highest office of the most powerful nation on earth. However, I am a little skeptical about his level of experience, alleged ties to unsavory organizations and religious affiliations. I voted for him, primarily because of bitterness at the incompetence of the Bush administration. I remain disenfranchised with America so far in the 21st Century, and came across a political graphic that does a fairly good job in capturing this sentiment.
