I’m excited for this movie. Baz Luhrman is my favorite director and I love old films like “Gone With the Wind.” I still have high hopes and Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman have never let me down before. :-)

i normally love baz luhrman’s films, but this movie’s trailer just made me roll my eyes. and i felt it a bit racist — nicole kidman helping the sweet, wide-eyed aborigine child as if he were a lost puppy. Being that the title is Australia, you would think that possibly Baz Luhrman could include some aborigines?

Some of the movie was filmed in Bowen Queensland, which is only about 2 hours from where I live. Incidentally one of my daughter’s lives there and she said that while they were filming Hugh often wandered into the pub after shooting and mixed with the locals, just like a normal bloke. He was sometimes seen out and about with Deb and the kids. Nicole (and Keith) however only showed up for filming though and stayed on the island they were renting.
I’m going to see the movie next week when it opens..even if just to try and point out the scenes from Bowenwood. lol

I *LOVED* Moulin Rouge and have “Come What May” in rotation quite a bit on my ipod…

I’m very pleased that Hugh is SMA…he’s a total hottie. Too add to your post from earlier in the week, he does look like an AWESOME dad!

Hugh and Nicole?I’m there. Nicole is looking more like a porcelain doll these days, though. But I still think she was smart to get away from Tom C. As far as Hugh, he needs to say goodbye to Deb and say hello to me! Yum.
