'Little Ashes' gets a movie poster
Robert Pattinson Channels His Inner Salvador Dalí

Even tho the Twilight movie hasn’t been released in theaters just yet, Robert Pattinson is already thinking about his first post-Twilight film Little Ashes. Here is the poster artwork for his arty indie film which tells the tale of 18-year old Salvador Dalí (played by Pattinson)’s arrival at university in the 1920′s, his desire to become an artist and his romantic relationship with his schoolmate and friend Federico Garcia Lorca (played by Javier Beltran):

Oh yes … this movie sounds like a far cry from R. Pattz‘s stint as beautiful vamp Edward Cullen in Twilight. But I am very interested to see him play a role like this. We’ve already seen him rock a full face of facial hair but this is one of the first times we’ve seen him with the trademark Dalí ‘stache. It looks good, yes? Will any of y’all be seeing this film when it gets released next year? Do you suppose the Twilight Army of fans will come out in support after the excitement over the Twilight movie begins to wane?

It's hipster to be square
Jared Leto Does ‘GQ Style’ Magazine

Jared Leto is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of the Italian fashion magazine GQ Style. It’s clear that Jared was trying to look more ‘hipster than thou’ in this new shoot and I’d have to say that he achieved his goal. Here is his coverphoto:

The crazy hipsterness isn’t really evident until you see the accompanying photoshoot. After the jump, check out the rest of the pics …

To the bitter end
Brooke Shields Films One Of The Last Eps Of ‘Lipstick Jungle’

Here are a few photos of Brooke Shields (as Wendy Healy) and David Norona (as Salvador Rosa) filming scenes for the new-defunct NBC series Lipstick Jungle at Rockefeller Center on Fifth Avenue in NYC this week. It’s unclear exactly how Brooke got word that her show was being canceled but I suppose it could’ve gone down kinda like this … ACTION!

Poor Brooke. I understand she really loved this role and this series so I imagine that she is prolly not in the best mood these days. Ah well, if NBC really wants to make it up to her they could revive her show Suddenly Susan and bring her back to the network. I’m sure Kathy Griffin would love it if that happened, too! Brooke Shields is a trooper … I’m sure she’ll land on her feet again soon.

Cam Gigandet Does ‘Men’s Health’ Magazine

Cam Giganet, who stars as hottie badvamp James in the new Twilight movie, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Men’s Health magazine. Men’s Health, as some of you are well aware, tends to put only the hottest, most fit celebs on their covers (like David Beckham, thank you very much) and this month is no exception … behold:

Cam talks to the magazine about how he handles fear when it comes to working in showbiz saying, “You’re selling a product that happens to be yourself. That brings out so many insecurities. There’s so much fear of failure because it’s so rampant, it’s everywhere. It was paralyzing to the point where I couldn’t get work or enjoy anything. To get where I am, I had to learn to live with fear. It’s all fear. You have to let go of that and keep moving forward.” He also talks about his stint working on The O.C. and being happy & contented in the moment, “Well, you can always do what the O.C. kids did and hate your work. When I was on that show, they all just wanted to go on and do bigger things. I imagine that’s hard. You can be as frustrated as you want, but you still have to show up for work. People don’t want to hear about it if you’re frustrated with your big career break. You still have to have a sense of gratitude and professionalism no matter what you do. I’ve been mad at everyone and everything at times. Deal with it at home.” And, of course, he talks to the mag about how he stays in shape … which is less important to me … I’m just interested in gawking at how “in shape” he is ;) After the jump, check out one more (dreamy) photo of Cam from this month’s issue of Men’s Health magazine …

You be the judge
Is Whitney Houston ‘Undefeated’?

The industrious kids at ONTD! have scrounged up the RUMORED cover artwork for Whitney Houston‘s new album REPORTEDLY titled Undefeated. To be totally frank, this coverart looks faker than Michael Jackson‘s nasal passages but it’s a funny pic so I figured I’d share it as well:

Sooooo … what do y’all think? The face is, very clearly, Whitney Houston‘s … the body is another thing altogether. While it’s more probable that this photo is fanmade creation, I suppose it’s in the realm of possibility that this is the way her record company is going to try and market her comeback. If that is the case, then Jebus help us all! Does anyone out there think this might be the real deal?

UPDATE: Pink reader Winona gives me the head’s up that Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that this coverart is fake. Here is a statement provided by Whitney Houston‘s record company:

“The allegedly ‘new’ Whitney Houston album cover circulating throughout the Internet is not a legitimate album cover for Ms. Houston’s forthcoming Arista disc. Ms. Houston is still recording and we look forward to unveiling new music along with the official album cover in due time.”

I suppose Whew! is in order.

The TV Guide

Not much excitement to report from yesterday. I had an appointment with my amazing hair dude Josh so that I could re-bleach my hair ahead of my trip home to Detroit this afternoon. My peeps back home have yet to see my golden glory in person so I decided to bleach it back to total blonde one more time. I’m not sure if I’m gonna keep bleaching my hair from here on out tho … we’ll see.

Last night I met up for dinner with my good pal Tom … we dined at RockSugar in Century City and basically just caught up with what’s been going on in our lives. I’m glad we were able to make the time to get together cuz I can’t remember the last time we got to hang out.

I leave for LAX in a couple of hours and I still have to finish packing and finish work for today … but I’ll be comin’ atcha tomorrow and for the following week from home, sweet, Motown.

NBC axes 'Jungle' and 'My Own Worst Enemy'
Peace The Spork Out, ‘Lipstick Jungle’

Sad news for fans of the NBC shows Lipstick Jungle and My Own Worst Enemy … it is being reported that both shows have been given the axe and will be yanked off the air post haste due to poor ratings. While I doubt many people will shed a tear for Enemy (except for the 7 Christian Slater fans out there somewhere), I imagine that there are quite a few fans of Jungle (like my boo David and my friend Darion) who will be lamenting the demise of their show. It’s dunzo, y’all:

NBC has pulled the plug on freshman tentpole drama “My Own Worst Enemy” and returning sophomore series “Lipstick Jungle,” sources said Wednesday. The cancellations come after both shows dropped to new ratings lows in recent weeks, with the Christian Slater action series sinking to a 1.8 among adults 18-49 (4.3 million viewers) on Monday and “Jungle” falling to a 1.2 (3.3 million viewers) on Friday. Although the “Jungle” number was an improvement on the previous week, the show’s ratings have been below the line for a while and sunk into the red zone after being moved to Fridays. NBC’s expectation for the return of “Jungle” was modest, but “Enemy” was considered an important show. A spy thriller with a grown-up budget inspired by the “Bourne” movies, “Enemy” received NBC’s coveted post-”Heroes” time period. That valuable Monday hour of scheduling real estate has become less worthwhile in recent weeks, however, as “Heroes” shed viewers — weakening the lead-in for “Enemy” and hastening its decline. No word whether Monday’s episode will be yanked from the schedule, if the show will solider on for a few more weeks or what program will take its place. “Enemy” is now shooting its ninth — and final — episode. “Lipstick” has shot all 13 of its initial order.

Damn! It’s scary to think that Heroes‘ coattails are not what they used to be and the show’s sagging popularity is part of the reason Enemy was canceled. If Heroes doesn’t shape up and start pulling in better ratings, can its demise be that far off? While I didn’t pay any attention to the Christian Slater show, I did hear great things about Lipstick Jungle. Both David and Darion are big fans of the show and would sing its praises to me very often … especially when it came to Robert Buckley‘s character Kirby:

I may not have been watching the show but I have been paying attention to the filming of the show. Do y’all remember THIS post that featured sweaty, shirtless pics of Robert Buckley and Kim Raver filming a scene in NYC early this past Summer? I’m very bummed that Robert will no longer be required to film scenes like this any longer :( Do Did any of y’all watch either of these shows? What’re y’all’s thoughts?

The Claybaby pops up this week on 'Dr. Phil'
Checking In With Parker Foster Aiken

Pink reader Ash gave me the head’s up that Clay Aiken and his babymama Jaymes Foster made a quick appearance on Dr. Phil this week during an episode devoted to famed music-maker David Foster and his 40-year career in the biz. Despite the fact that I hate everything that Dr. Phil stands for (ie. his misguided charlatan psychobabble and meddling), I thought that it would be worth sharing to show the photo of Clay, Jaymes and their newborn baby boy Parker that was featured on the show:

You may recall that Clay Aiken became a father on August 8 of this year (08.08.08) when his friend and music collaborator, Jaymes Foster, gave birth to his child by artificial insemination in vitro fertilization. You may also recall that just over a month after the birth of his son, Clay came out of the closet and admitted his sexuality on the cover of People magazine. That was the last time we saw what Parker Foster looked like … until now. The little guy is getting so big … and is still SOOOO cute! Again, I’m not much of a Clay Aiken fan but I do commend him for coming out and being honest about who he is … and I do think his baby boy is ADORABLE. Glad to see that this little family is doing so well :)

The 'Twilight' starlet gets her own cover
Kristen Stewart Does ‘Teen Vogue’ Magazine

Kristen Stewart, the star of the much-anticipated movie Twilight, is featured on the cover of the December/January issue of Teen Vogue magazine (on sale November 18) all by her lonesome. Not sharing the coverspot with any of her Twilight co-stars, Kristen is featured alone. Here is her coverphoto and a portions of her Teen Vogue coverstory interview:

Kristen Stewart’s TEEN VOGUE cover shoot took place by the beach in sunny Malibu, California – a far cry from the dreary coastal city of Portland, Oregon, where most of the actress’s latest project, the dark thriller Twilight, was filmed. Kristen snagged the leading role after a four-hour audition with indie director Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen, Lords of Dogtown). And after almost a decade in the business – including a series of impressive roles in films such as Panic Room with Jodie Foster, Into the Wild the Emile Hirsch and the indie film In the Land of Women – she finally has a project that might just prove to be her first bona fide blockbuster. Twilight is the hotly anticipated adaptation of author Stephanie Meyer’s smash-hit debut novel – all four titles in the now-complete series continue to be best sellers – but before Kristen got the script she had never even heard of the books. “I guess I was just living under rocks and mountains,” she says cheerfully. “And though we were warned, I figured it would be a pretty exclusive fan base. I thought we were making a cult movie; I had no idea it was going to be this, like, phenomenon.” Despite having Kristen’s merits debated on Internet message boards before she had even shot a frame of film, she is almost improbably perfect to play the part of Bella Swan, a recently relocated high school junior who falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson. “Bella’s a very relatable girl,” says Kristen. “She inhabits qualities that most girls have, even if it’s not on the surface.” Physically, Kristen works: she is capable of being both slightly plain (as Bella feels) and impossibly beautiful (as Edward sees her). “What I love about the story and what puts it on a different level is that it’s ‘chemical’ … there’s nobody else for either of them. Period.” The romance, which Kristen describes as “unworldly but not fake,” was a big draw. She did, on occasion, draw from her own romantic life – she’s been with boyfriend Michael Angarano “forever” as she puts it. Kristen lived in an apartment on her own for the first time while shooting Twilight. “You are an insane person after you wrap a movie!”, she says. “Especially with Twilight. You spend three and a half months living the story. We all had one main goal, we were all equally invested and focused – it was just a very intertwined experience.” What about Kristen’s take on fashion? “If I’m just chilling out, then people can see me any which way, but it’s different when you’re putting yourself together to do something professionally,” she says. “You’re under a lot of scrutiny,” she admits. “It’s a bizarre thing, to me, to consider that what I wear or what I do with my hair, can affect my career.” But Kristen respects the process and takes it in stride. “I’m not the type of person who has a million things in my closet to put together, so I’ve begun to work with a stylist and we’ve started to figure out what I like. Simple, classically pretty things; I love Chanel.”

Truth be told, I’m not too crazy with this coverphoto but I do like the way she comes across in this Teen Vogue interview. I was unaware that I had previously seen Kristen in other movies (Panic Room, Into the Wild) and now have a better context to see her in. While reading the books, I never had a particular image of Bella Swan in my head but I suppose now that she has a face in Kristen Stewart, I can see how she might make a good Bella. I imagine there are many fans of the books that have a different image of Bella in their minds (mebbe an image that closely resembles what they look like) so we’ll have to see how those folks take to Kristen‘s portrayal of Bella Swan when the movie opens on November 21. The interview gets a thumbs up from me … the coverphoto, not so much. Am I wrong … do any of y’all like the pic?
