‘Twilight’ Outtakes From ‘Vanity Fair’ Magazine

Do try and contain yourselves
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Last Friday we got our first look at the new Twilight photos that are published in this month’s issue of Vanity Fair magazine … and today we get to check out a whole slew of outtake photos that didn’t make the magazine cut but have been published online at Vanity Fair’s official website. Most of the photos feature just Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) and Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) but I threw in a photo of R. Pattz, Kristen and vamp villain Cam Gigandet (James) for hawtness sake:

From VF.com: We’ve been bitten! By the Twilight bug, that is. After posting three images of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and the rest of the upcoming film’s young cast last week, VF.com went back to photographer Peggy Sirota and asked for nine more images from the shoot, at California’s Ventura Farms. Feast your eyes!

Feast, indeed. I much prefer seeing the Twilight stars primped and glammed up for their photoshoots rather than disheveled and messy. At last, I can see chemistry between these two actors … there’s hope yet. Don’t forget to send in your entries for a chance to win the Twilight Prize Pack that I’m giving away here on the site (click HERE for all the deets). I’ve already received quite a few submissions … keep ‘em comin’!!!

‘Star Trek’ Gets A New Promo Poster

The 'other guys' get the spotlight
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Last July we got our first look at the first teaser poster for the new JJ Abrams directed Star Trek prequel movie that featured principal characters Eric Bana (who plays villiain Nero), Zoë Saldana (who plays Uhura), Zachary Quinto (who plays Spock) and Chris Pine (who plays James Kirk). Today we learn that the official website for the Star Trek movie has been updated with new downloads, including a second teaser poster which features other members of the Star Trek Enterprise crew:

This poster features John Cho (who plays Sulu), Simon Pegg (who plays Scotty), Karl Urban (who plays Dr. McCoy) and Anton Yelchin (who plays Chekov). I really like the way they are handling the promo for this film. It’s subtle but teases enough to keep folks interested. I’m not sure how much more promo stuff we’ll get to see before the movie is released next year (especially considering how much coverage it got in Entertainment Weekly last month) but I’ve got my eye out for any future goodies. So far … do y’all like the Star Trek promo we’ve been gettin’?

Lindsay Lohan & Samantha Ronson Invade England

L. Ron in London
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Lindsay Lohan, who confesses to Harper’s Bazaar magazine this month that she is INDEED in a relationship with Samantha Ronson, has made her way to London, England this week and happened to bring along with her, you guessed it, Samantha Ronson. The ladies who have been inseparable since, like, forever managed to cause a mild stir upon arrival in England … here are a few pics:

Almost as soon as L. Ron touched down in Londontown they hit the streets in search of supplies to get themselves situated … and they happened to do so lookin’ adorably cute together all the while. No word on what brings the happy couple to London but I predict that Linds may be doing some promo work for her new leggings line while they are in Europe. Hopefully the ladies will be able to sneak in some alone-time together as well. Treat ‘em well, London!

Kimberly Puts The ‘EW’ In Stewart

For old time's sake
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

It’s been about a year since last we saw Kimberly Stewart, the often tragic-looking daughter of aging rocker Rod Stewart, around here on the blog — which is a good thing, IMHO — but homegirl surfaced in London, England last night and decided to wave hello to the paparazzi who were interested in photographing her. Old skool Pink is the new Blog readers may remember that Kim and all her tragedy was a semi-regular fixture on the blog but has since fallen off my radar … so today I figured, What the Hell:

For those of you unfamiliar with my distaste for K. Stew allow me to enlighten. I’ve never particularly been a fan of the girl primarily because, to me, she reeked of a sad attempt to become Paris Hilton. Her ability to don the most fugly of fashions in public was another reason to poke fun at her. When she went on the record in an interview to call Jennifer Aniston “homely”, she pretty much became dead to me. That said … it pains me to admit that she appears to have cleaned up her appearance TENFOLD since she moved to London (and away from SoCal) and altho she seems to have moved on from trying to become Paris to trying to become Vicki B., I no longer find it even interesting to really poke fun at her any more. I guess barring any future arrests or (heaven forbid) embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions (**SHUDDER**) there really is no need to ever talk about the poor lamb again. I think it’s better that way. Here’s to a figurative Peace the Spork Out to Kim Stewart.

Guess Who’s The ‘Hero’

Bad Boy Gone Good
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Game time! Can you guess who is hiding behind this ski mask and SWAT team-lookin’ outfit as he shoots scenes for upcoming eps of his not-as-popular-as-it-used-to-be TV series for NBC?

While you may be able to guess the TV series that I’m alluding to, it’s a bit harder to guess who is the man behind the mask. Be warned, the answer behind the cut may prove spoilery for some of y’all so if you think you know what TV show I’m talking about and are afraid you might be spoiled you might not want to take look. After the jump, find out who it is …

Darion, Kirsten And I ‘Xanadu’ It Together

The TV Guide
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Last night Darion, Kirsten and I made the long trek down the coast to La Jolla, CA to attend the premiere performance of Xanadu: The Musical as it begins its national tour. I was very fortunate enough to see the show a few times on Broadway (Darion came out to see it with me one of those times) but Kirsten had yet to see it so I thought it would be fun for us all to see it together here in SoCal. By and large, it was a fun performance. Because the original Broadway lead actors (Kerry Butler and Cheyenne Jackson) were so phenomenal in their roles, I had a hard time not comparing these touring players with them … but the new cast won me over almost entirely:

For me, unless the entire Broadway cast is able to tour with the show no touring performance is able to match the perfection of the original. That said, this show is so well-written and the tour has been so well-cast that I think it will hold its own out on the road. My only complaint is that La Jolla is not the place for this show to run. The audience was predominately over 50 years old and many of them did not get the jokes — or the show overall. But, by the time the show was over, there were quite a few smiling faces dancing in the crowd. I personally believe the show would be a STUNNING hit if it came to LA but … mebbe one day.

D, K and I managed to get on-stage seats for the performance, so we were kinda part of the show. We had such an amazingly fun time — I only wish I had been able to sit on stage when the show was on Broadway. Overall, tho, last night was just too much fun … here are a few pics from our road trip adventure:

Yes, we managed to dine at an actual Chick-Fil-A restaurant (rather than a Food Court mall Chick-Fil-A), sipped on Kira-tinis before the show and got to snap a pic in our on-stage seats after the show was finished. Add to that a trip to Baskin Robbins on the way home and … well, you can see we had a blast.

Tonight I have to rebleach my hair before I fly back to Detroit tomorrow and then I’m meeting up with my friend Tom for dinner. Oh yeah, I still have to pack at some point as well … ugh!!
