'W'onder 'W'oman?
Blake Lively Does ‘W’ Magazine

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of W magazine … and while some think that Blake looks patriotic on the cover, clutching the US flag, I think she looks more superhero-like … very Wonder Womanly. Here is Blake‘s W cover, a few photos from her spread and a portion of her interview:

Blake Lively is a starving artist. “I’m hungry. You hungry? Let’s meet at Sant Ambroeus,” she says, by way of cell phone introduction. Within minutes she’s stepping out of a taxi, an endless stream of legs and golden hair. The pint-size ristorante in New York’s West Village is, on a Saturday afternoon, predictably packed with the type of diners who are too cool to freak out about the numero uno Gossip Girl but not so jaded that they don’t notice her. Over the course of the next hour and a half, only a mother and her trembling tween daughter openly fawn over Lively. Sure, a guy at the next table chats her up, but that’s only because he really, really needs to know if he should order the eggplant appetizer that the gorgeous 21-year-old is digging into with gusto … A tight-knit bunch, the Lively clan also includes a talent manager mom, two older sisters and two older brothers—all of whom are connected to the entertainment industry in some manner. “My mom and dad always taught acting, so instead of getting me babysitters, they would just bring me to class,” Lively recalls. “And I’m a naturally shy person, so it really helped. I would’ve just been hiding under the table, pulling on my mother’s dress if I hadn’t been in their classes. It forced me out of my shell.” And out she stayed—Lively is warm and ultrachatty, dispensing the type of cheerful anecdotes that make clear she leads a charmed existence.

The interview goes on from there (you can read it in full HERE). It’s a pretty standard interview that doesn’t really delve into anything even remotely resembling drama. When the question of whether or not she competes on set with Leighton Meester on the set of the GG she responds by saying, “I’ve never really had a competitive relationship in any work situation. The media is always trying to pit us against each other, I guess because it’s just not interesting to say, ‘Everyone gets along; everybody just works 18-hour days and goes home to sleep.’ That’s not fun to read, I guess.” Meh, she’s right. I think I’d prefer to hear that they pull each other’s hair out on a daily basis. Ah well. I do like the photos in this spread tho. They are deceptively simple (the flag is a nice touch) … but I quite like them a lot. I know that Beyoncé wants to be an African American Wonder Woman but I think that Blake makes a pretty good case for a Blonde Wonder Woman. What do y’all think … could she pull off that role?

A new feud is forming?
Xtina Goes On The Record About Lady Gaga

Xtina Aguilera talks to the LA Times about her new Greatest Hits compilation Keeps Gettin’ Better: A Decade of Hits (which went on sale today exclusively in Target stores) and manages to talk about all the usual stuff (you know, all the Blah Blah Blah). Then the question about Lady Gaga comes up and the claims that she has been “copying” Gaga‘s style and look … to which Xtina responds …

What do you say to those on the Internet who are hinting that you borrowed Lady Gaga’s look?

You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady Gaga] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure. I really don’t spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect.

LOLOLOLOL! Best.Answer.Ever. To be honest, I first thought that Lady Gaga was a man as well … she tends to hide behind big sunglasses and covers her head up with cowls — I guess I, too, assumed she was a drag queen. I now know that she is a real girl but, I guess I can’t fault Xtina for thinking the same thing that I thought. Who knows how Gaga will respond to this quote from Xtina but we may be witnessing the birth of a new celebrity feud, y’all. Pick your side now — Team Xtina or Team Gaga?

The inaugural issue
Beyoncé Does ‘The New York Observer Style’ Magazine

Beyoncé is featured on the cover and in the pages of the PREMIERE issue of The New York Observer Style magazine which will make its debut on newsstands on November 19. I’ve been given the opportunity to preview the mag’s inaugural cover and photospread featuring Beyoncé herself. Here is B‘s coverphoto and some tidbits from her interview with the magazine:

Beyoncé has a new album, a new jewelry line and a new challenge playing Etta James. The presumptive Mrs. Jay Z is featured on the cover for the premiere issue of The New York Observer Style magazine, out on newsstands, November 19th, wearing a vintage Carolina Herrera gown. In person at the Soho Grand hotel, she looked young and fresh faced with minimal make-up and her signature white James Perse t-shirt (“my uniform, she said, “seriously, I have like 50 of them.”) as she talked with The New York Observer Style, Beyoncé gushed about her mom, Tina Knowles, who owned a hair salon and the advice she gave her to personalize her clothes without spending too much money. It is from Tina Knowles that she derives her personal sense of style.

On her mom: “I looked at her like a therapist and a makeover queen – the perfect glamorous smart woman. People would walk in, talk to her and tell her their issues and they’d walk out feeling and looking like a new woman.” Tina taught her daughter the importance of being creative; how you didn’t necessarily need a lot of money to make style statements. “She’d get us little jackets and we’d go to an art supply store and we’d get stones and glitter and we’d personalize a lot of our clothes,” Beyoncé said. “… she taught me the importance of looking good and feeling good but also that beauty comes from within. Because it fades.”

On her own style: “I’m an accessories queen. I collect a lot of vintage jewelry – a lot of vintage Chanel. I love it because you know no one else has it. Sometimes I don’t even wear it – I just like to look at it. I will love always the cut from 1940′s. Because I’m a curvy woman, that’s the best silhouette on my body. There are certain things I can do but I have to show my waistline and stick to things that look good on my body. I know what looks good on me and I think that’s half the battle.”

For an upcoming promo tour (and possible world tour?)
Britney Spears Casts A New Cavalcade Of Dancers

BritneySpears.com has been updated with a bunch of new insider photos from a recent casting session for her new troupe of dancers. Since Britney Spears has been in Kentwood, LA for the past few days, it’s clear that these photos were snapped here in LA before she left the State. Here are a few of the pics that were posted to her site today and some info about what is going on in the pics:

Yesterday we got a photo from an audition Britney held for an unknown upcoming project. Today BritneySpears.com has details about both the try-outs and what they were for! We just found out that over 70 super talented dancers came to a grueling audition for Britney’s new promotional tour. It was a really long day and the pressure was really on! After a few rounds of cuts the dancers finally got the chance to dance for Britney, Andre and his agents and show them all what they’ve got! So what was Britney looking for? Three new guys for her dance crew — a “womanizer” (of course!) and two “jester” types. We hear that the talent there was AMAZING, which means that Britney’s upcoming performances are going to be out of this world!!!

Man … I will never get tired of seeing Britney back in the swing of things. These photos look like they could’ve been snapped 8 years ago when she was casting dancers for her Oops! I Did It Again Tour. It’s a mighty nice sight seeing her manager Larry Rudolph by her side again … just like the good ol’ days. I think we are all very relieved that her son Jayden James‘s hospital scare is over and that the little guy is doing fine … now she can get back to enjoying her holiday in Louisiana. It looks like she’s got a lot more work ahead of her … hopefully she can use this downtime to recharge for the coming promo whirlwind ahead.

The TV Guide
An Evening With ‘Rick & Steve’ (And Steph & Alek)

Last night I met up with Steph and Alek for a little dinner at the new SBE restaurant here in LA called XIV (it’s the restaurant where Heidi Montag got fired on last week’s ep of The Hills) and, to be honest, I wasn’t really expecting the place to be all that. I was way wrong. We dined French style, with an 11 course meal (no worries, they were small portions for each of us) that was TO DIE FOR! I can’t even adequately describe how good the food was but fortch, S&A managed to photograph some of the sumptuousness. The place gets high marks from me … it’s a bit pricey but I think worth the dough. I plan on taking David there when he’s in SoCal next ;)

Afterward, we made our way to East West for a preview screening party of the second season premiere of the LOGO animated series Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple in All of The World … you may recall that I mentioned that I guest star on the premiere ep which airs TONIGHT on LOGO at 10PM. Here are a few pics from last night’s fun:

Much love goes out to Alan who writes Rick & Steve (and asked me to be on the show) and Dave who runs LOGO for all their amazingness. I’m so pleased with the way the ep turned out … I can’t wait for y’all to see it when it airs TONIGHT :) I have to give a shout out to Pink readers Kurt, Susan and Nick who I got to meet and take a photo with last night … it was a pleasure meeting you all :) Later on in the week, I’ll have some behind-the-scenes photos and goss from my Rick & Steve appearance … it’s pretty cool :)

Tonight, Darion, Kirsten and I are hauling our cookies down to La Jolla, CA to see Xanadu on stage! It’s a long drive but we’re very excited to see it. We’ve got seats ON STAGE so it should be very fun. Wee!!

Jen calls Angelina "uncool", Em's album delayed, folks won't stop 'Believin'
ATTENTION: 'THE HILLS' SPOILER ALERT WARNING
‘The Hills’: Don’t Hate The Player

After taking a week off last week because of Election Day, today we check in with the drama on last night’s episode of The Hills. For the most part, the drama was pretty contained but there were a bunch of fun moments. I found the ep especially interesting because since it was Whitney Port centered (Lauren LC Conrad really only played a supporting role) we have a feel for what her spin-off show The City may be like:

Whitney and LC got called back to NYC by their heinous boss Kelly Cutrone at People’s Revolution to do some runway show work for her … romance and drama ensued. Back home in LA, Heidi Montag was left to pick up the pieces after she got fired from SBE last week. It was a fun time on The Hills last night. After the jump, let’s discuss the drama from last night’s ep titled Back To New York

Another look at his 'Equus' performance
Daniel Radcliffe Shows Off His Naughty Bits Again

Daniel Radcliffe is well into his current run on Broadway as his play Equus continues to thrill audiences on a nightly basis. Y’all may recall that I was very fortunate enough to see the show for myself back in September and before that we were treated to a few covert (but not very clear) photos of Dan‘s nekkid scene on stage. This week, new and much clearer photos of Dan and his manhood have made their way to the Internets:

If you think you can handle all the NSFWness, you can see these uncensored pics behind the cut … AND there’s video! After the jump, check it out …

A new photography exhibit to coincide with '24: Redemption' the TV movie
’24: Redemption – Captured In Africa’ Premieres

Kiefer Sutherland was among the guests who attended the premiere opening of a new photography exhibit called 24: Redemption – Captured In Africa which was held at the The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, CA last night. 24: Redemption, as some of you may be aware, is a 2-hour TV movie prequel that will air on FOX on Sunday November 23 ahead of the debut of the new season of 24 in January. The TV movie was shot on location in South Africa and this new exhibit at The Paley Center (on display until January 11) showcases some of the amazing photography that was shot while the movie was being filmed. Here are a couple pics of Kiefer on the red carpet at last night’s event and some information about the exhibit itself:

From the press release: Last spring, FOX announced that after a nearly two-year hiatus, 24 would return to the airwaves with 24: REDEMPTION, an unprecedented two-hour television event shot on location in South Africa and Los Angeles. Now as the producers ready this epic tale for broadcast, they are unveiling a never-before-seen collection of stunning photographs shot by five members of the show’s creative team during the overseas filming. “24: REDEMPTION – Captured in Africa” is a rare inside look at the making of the show composed of candid moments between cast and crew, including Emmy Award-winner Kiefer Sutherland; dramatic stills from the spectacular action sequences; and vivid photographic captures of the scenic South African locations. The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles will host the one-of-a-kind photo exhibit of fine art museum quality archival prints from Nov. 10, 2008 through Jan. 11, 2009, when it may move on to additional venues to be announced later. Curated by Entertainment Weekly deputy photo director Michael Kochman and custom printed at DigitalFusion’s fine art printing facility, the exhibit features works by executive producer/director Jon Cassar, director of photography Rodney Charters, producer Michael Klick, unit photographer Kelsey McNeal and star/executive producer Kiefer Sutherland. “I was so impressed with the quality of the photography, and it was exciting to see a production photographed from five different perspectives,” said Kochman. “Each photographer captured something very special and poetic – sometimes intimate, sometimes epic, sometimes documentary-like and raw. It all adds up to a fascinating photographic experience.” “Shooting 24: REDEMPTION in South Africa was the highlight of my six years on the show,” said 24 executive producer and Emmy Award-winning director Jon Cassar. “It was nothing short of exhilarating. Africa also became a wonderful canvas for the still photography enthusiasts among our crew. Every day put us in places and situations that were new and exciting to us, and our cameras clicked constantly. This exhibit chronicles the seven weeks that were spent in Cape Town and the surrounding regions from moments captured during a hectic shooting schedule to the faces and places that represent not only the making of 24 but the Africa of today.”

After the jump, check out a few of the photos that will be on display in this new exhibit …
