Whew … what a week it’s been. Barack Obama was elected as the 44th President of the United States of America just 5 days ago and I know that so many people are still rejoicing at the news. I happily posted the pics sent in by Pink readers of their celebrations around Election Day and today we get to check out a few intimate, behind-the-scenes photos of the Obama family waiting for the election results on Election Night. President-elect Obama had a bunch of private photos posted to his official Flickr photo album to share his family’s Election Night activities with the world. Here are a few of my faves:

Click HERE to see a whole slew of Election Night photos of the Obama family. I’m pretty sure that Tuesday November 4, 2008 is a day that millions of people will remember for the rest of their lives. Obvs it was a big night for the Obamas and I think it’s very cool that they are sharing their intimate (and prolly jittery) moments with the world. I suspect that the new First Family is going to be very open about their lives and will do everything they can to share their experiences with all of us. The site Change.gov has already launched and I understand there will be an official blog of the new President when he takes office. Leadership in this country looks like it’s about to take a giant leap forward of inclusion with the people. I can’t wait to see what’s in store in the coming months and years.

She’s baaaaack! Shannen Doherty joined the cast of The CW series 90210 on set at the Gay and Lesbian Center in Hollywood this weekend. I assume that an upcoming ep of the show may have a gay storyline but it could just be that the center will merely stand-in as something else on the show. In any event, Shannen was proudly showing off a new dude on set but it was unclear what, if any, the state of their relationship is. Jennie Garth was also on set, proudly showing off a No on Prop 8 sign she got from the Gay and Lesbian Center to show her disdain for the discriminatory proposition’s passage here in California:

As we learned previously, Shannen was asked back to appear in two more eps of the series later on in the season and it looks like she’s begun work filming those eps. No word on if any other Beverly Hills, 90210 alums will be appearing on the spin-off this season but at least now we know that Shannen is back for sure. I just love that Jennie Garth has joined the chorus of celebs who are vocalizing (in whatever way they can) their opposition to Prop 8 in this State. I understand another round of protests are taking place today … and for the foreseeable future. A few Pink readers have asked if I knew of any planned protests coming up so I offer THIS link to a list of events that should be updated as new events are planned.

In any event, it’s great to see Shannen back to work again (we’ll see if this new guy turns out to be someone relevant) and to see Jennie be so awesome :)

Letters to Cleo reunited in concert on stage at The Roxy here in LA last night and I was very fortunate to be able to be there to bear witness. Kay Hanley, lead singer of LTC, and I have been sorta-cyber pals over the past few months (exchanging emails, txts and Tweets) and last night was our first chance to spend quality time together. We previous got to meet in person at the Veruca Salt show at the Viper Room back in August but tonight was it. I met up with Kay before the show and joined her and her friends and family members for a quick bite to eat at the Rainbow Room. I got to meet her sister-in-law Justine and her brother-in-law Gary and we all hit it off. We didn’t want to miss The Oohlas, who were opening up for LTC last night, so we got over to the venue in time to catch their amazing performance … here are a few pics of The Oohlas rockin’ out last night:

Ollie and the boys were in fine shape. They sounded amazing and their new songs really rocked out. I’m so anxious to hear more. Greg announced from the stage that an EP of new stuff is on the way. Woot!

Then it was time for Letters to Cleo to take the stage … here are a few of the pics that I took last night:

I kid you not, LTC sounded just as awesome as they ever have … they rocked out as if no time had passed since the break-up. Kay sounded divine, USA Mike was jumpin’ around like a madman and Stacey … well … he was just a flurry of drumsticks and flying hair. It was a raucous and extremely fun night all around. I took a TON of photos and some of them are pretty amazing. Click HERE to check them all out. Awake is prolly my fave LTC song and I was too bizzy jumping around while they performed it to video it … but I did manage to vid their performance of Here and Now. Time again for us to gaze and gander at the famed Hot Dude of the Week. This week’s hottie has a very distinct European look about him … and abs to die for. Say hello to Anton:

OY! Sometimes I just marvel at the time and dedication it takes someone to achieve a body like this … all the hours spent in the gym lifting weights and all the discipline it takes to eat right, sacrificing some of the simple pleasures of life all for the sake of physical fitness. Yeah and sometimes I just think Hot Damn, that boy is hot. I usually end up doing more of the latter than the former. All I know is I’m glad that guys like Anton are the ones out there making the sacrifices to look this hot so that we can enjoy the fruits of their labor. Sounds like a win-win to me ;) Enjoy!!

Peter Facinelli, who is married to 90210’s Jennie Garth and stars as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the new Twilight movie, is featured in the new issue of LA Direct magazine. Let you think that Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet are the only vamps bringin’ the hawtness in the big screen adaption of the wildly successful book, Mr. Facinelli reminds us that the older dudes can bring the sexy just as much. Some of y’all who may not recognize Peter Facinelli’s name might remember that he played the loveable douchebag in Can’t Hardly Wait and co-stared with Bill Bellamy on the short-lived FOX TV series Fastlane. Some of y’all might also be aware that Peter has been Mr. Jennie Garth for the past 7 years and that the couple share three children together (Luca Bella, Lola Ray and Fiona Eve). Something tells me that Peter’s upcoming stint as Carlisle Cullen in Twilight (which is sure to be the first in a multi-film franchise) will win him a whole new slew of fans. If the ravenous Twilighters can tear their eyes away from R. Pattz long enough, they might find a new hottie to salivate over in Peter Facinelli.

When last we saw Vicki B. she was uncharacteristically huddling in the backseat of a common taxicab after a long night of partying with her friends in London … today, we learn that VB has already returned back home to the US and was spied (pun intended) making her way thru LAX Airport this weekend covered from head to toe in a secret agent-like ensemble:

Perhaps VB is trying to make the gumshoe look the new thing in LA or mebbe she’s just ashamed that the world caught her using regular people transportation in London but in any event, Vicki B. is home, LA, home and prolly very happy to be back with her family. Who knows when next Agent Posh will be called up to service by the British Secret Intelligence Service again … until then, she’ll be in SoCal … right here waiting.
