For a few weeks now, we have seen messages popping up in advertising on posters, billboards and on websites (including right here on Pink is the new Blog) asking the question Who Is Sasha Fierce? Well, at long last, we finally have the answer. [Drum roll, please] It turns out that Sasha Fierce is none other than Beyoncé Knowles herself. Of course, anyone familiar with Beyoncé and her alter-ego nonsense knows that B has been, at times, calling herself Sasha for many months now … but at least now, we know her last name. Here are a couple pics of Beyoncé or Sasha Fierce (not sure which) making her way out of Cipriani restaurant in NYC with her husband Jay-Z last night:
The R&B singer has christened herself “Sasha Fierce” for her new double album, “I Am … Sasha Fierce,” due in stores on Nov. 18, and has released a lengthy justification for the comical moniker. “I have someone else that takes over when it’s time for me to work and when I’m on stage, this alter ego that I’ve created that kind of protects me and who I really am,” the former Destiny’s Child frontwoman said in a statement. “Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I’m working and when I’m on the stage.” Additionally, she has set up a cryptic MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/sashafierce) that gives a “lucky person” the opportunity to receive a personal message and a gift bag valued at $500.
So … lemme get this straight. Beyoncé created an alter-ego to draw attention away to “protect herself” and is now telling anyone who will listen (and offering a cash prize to anyone interested in giving a damn) that the alter-ego is actually her. Clearly, Beyoncé would make an horrrrrrible superhero cuz she just can’t keep a secret. As you may recall, Beyoncé released 2 music videos recently … and one of them features Ms. Sasha Fierce. Methinks Mrs. Jay-Z has got way too much time on her hands.

Well, when Tori Amos made 10 personalities she did so in order to have each personality represent a different song on her album ‘Strange Little Girls’ … and she did it just for that one album. Beyonce is not doing this for her Art, it seems more like a gimmick.

I’ve always listened to DC and then when B went solo…I just wanted to mention that this whole Sasha thing is not new…she has said in many interviews years ago that Sasha was her stage persona. Now why she’s making such a big deal out of it? IDK. Just wanted to say that Sasha has always been “around”!

She has mentioned her on stage persona, who she named Sasha long before this. Everybody has multiple sides to their personality. Why not celebrate it? Especially if you have an album coming out.
ACTUALLY “Sasha Feirce” isn’t anything new. She’s actually been around for as long as Beyonce has been performing. We all have “different personalities” for different times. As Beyonce is “Sasha” when she is performing or in a diva-like presence while Beyonce is Beyonce when she is her shy, and humble self. It’s like how celebrities come up with these stage names and put on this “face” while they’re a different person at home.
Anything Beyonce can do to spruce up her boring-ass personality is welcome, but this is retarded. Sasha Feirce? Really? That’s the best she could come up with? Is she still in the running to become America’s Next Top Model?

Sasha Fierce? Sounds like she went to a cheezy drag show with Christian from Project Runway and he kept repeating “fieeeerrrrccceee” all night and it got stuck in her head. On the flight home she was forced to watch Talledaga Nights that was stuck on a tape loop, and saw that Sasha Barron Cohen was in it, so she put the two completely innocent words together to form a completely stupid 2nd personality. Like she needs one.

I’ve heard her talk about “Sasha” before – it’s a way for her to really let go on stage. I love that she’s coming out with it. I don’t know why people care so much – it’s silly, creative and something she actually uses get herself ready to deliver the goods. Go Beyonce!

Sorry Rooney….I’ve known for a long time that she called her stage persona Sasha and thought it was stupid then. I’m neither a hater nor a fan…by publicizing it so much she is making herself out to look like a “whack-o”! I’m just glad more people are coming out and saying it now. Her “real” fans will just support the insanity…..AS ALWAYS!!!!!
Sasha Fierce….lol, im sorry but i think this was a bad move for her, to me it makes her seem like she’s crazy…and the name sounds like a porn star
