Wow, this makes the anticipation so much sweeter!!! With the little snippet teaser trailers i wasnt too sure it was going to be as I would have hoped but after seeing this, OME (Oh My Edward) I cant wait! This is going to be GREAT! I think in the end Robert Pattinson is a good selection for Edward. Iffy at first, but now, a perfect fit. Can’t wait for the movie!!! Thanks Trent :)

OME, I love it, I’ve watched it a few times, forced my bf to watch it, and now I’m just waiting for Nov 21. I think Rob is a great choice for Edward, I was iffy at first, but after seeing a few pics during filming I was sold. And like you said Trent, it looks like they stuck true to the book, I read the script and there are a few changes but nothing that made me go, no way!
Its going to be a long month and half!

I am totally smitten (yes as 46!!) by Edward (and it has nothing to do with me being British and Rob Pattison being British too!! ) – He’s like the perfect boyfriend/gentleman – except he’s not a man, he’s the ‘bad boy’ – but Oh SO delicious!
I seriously cannot WAIT to take my daughter’s (we’ve ALL read all 4 books) to this movie on 11.21.08 or should I type it 21.11.08 ;)
My hubby (of 28 yrs I might add) just rolls his eyes when us girls are ‘Edward talking’ :)

It’s ehh, sorta really different from the book. When she was about to get hit by the car, Edward didn’t go hop away, he stayed there with her. I think the movie is gonna be really different and the movie is gonna be at least OKAY ( hopefully). But from all the trailers so far, i’m not so excited

I CAN’T WAIT!! There are some flaws already like when she says he’s a vampire they are really in the car and in the wreck scene he lifts te car off of her too, but oh well I love it and can’t wait! Like most people are saying I wasn’t sure about Rob but now I am!

I love the Twilight books and am totally psyched for this movie… but Kristen Stewart cannot act…she just seems really boring, and every movie she’s in I just feel like I’m watching some shitty depressing teen soap. But Robert Pattinson is beautiful, so it should be good either way.

Eh. I never read the books, but I’ve followed the story line from people who do and I thought it would be cooler then this. The main girl seems sort of expressionless and monotone, but the Edward guy is pretty hunky. I guess I’m so into creepy stuff that it’s alwas a let down in the theater.

This is going to be absolute crap. I love the books, but they’re just changing way too much in the movies. You can tell from just the trailers. And I know Stephanie Meyer was there and pretty much approved of everything, but I think she’s absolutely retarded for letting them make so many changes. Rob Pattinson….Cedric from Harry Potter…? Really? He’s not even good looking, let alone anywhere close to Edward’s supposed “Godliness.” And Kristen Stewart as Bella? She wishes she could pull it off. She’s an ok actress, I like her, but she is in no way suited for this role. I am so not looking forward to this. I work at a movie theater and we get the splendid pleasure of showing it…..shoot me. They shouldn’t have even tried to make this a movie. The series is just a supernatural amazing world of it’s own that can’t be captured by anything except one’s imagination.

The books were wonderful!! It looks like the movies are going to have a lot of differences from the book, but it’s to be expected. I am still really excited about the movie!

Melissa, there was only so much Stephenie could do to keep them from making changes b/c she didn’t own the movie rights. Apparently the first script didn’t include any of the other Cullens and she really put her foot down on that so they changed the script to include them. If she had thrown too much of a fit about the small changes, I doubt she would have been allowed to remain in consulting capacity for the movie and we would have gotten something completely different from the book – like the movie version of Anne Rice’s “Queen of the Damned!” ;)

Zane, Fair enough. I didn’t know that they originally didn’t want the rest of the Cullens in the story and that’s great that she was able to get them to change it. I didn’t actually know much about what influence she had, so it wasn’t really right for me to say anything about that. I’m not really mad at her for anything, just frustrated. But I am pissed at the makers of the movie for thinking it’s ok to change so much of an already great story. I’m not sure on the laws, but I think it’s entirely unfair for an author to have a choice on whether or not they want their work turned into a movie. So many movies adapted from books have been so horrible compared to the books that it turns people off from even trying to read them because they think they’re as bad as the movies. Maybe I’m just a literature nerd, but it all seems very unjust.

I love the books and I can’t wait for this to come out! I think kristen stewart looks like the bella describe in the book but i expected more feeling of emotion from her. She cries a lot and smiles in the first book. i don’t get from the trailer. at least the movie seems like its including everything from the book, the car accident, the three nomads, the baseball scene, ballet studio and the prom. i hope its good! can’ wait! OME :)

To me, it looks like they’re doing a good job going from one medium to another. It’s always hard to adapt something and make it equally good. I don’t think that anyone can totally set their opinion until one’s actually seen it. I, for one, am really excited about the movie.

Melissa, I’m a book nerd like you so I completely agree that it is really frustrating to see these books we loved so much drastically changed in the movie versions. Regarding the legality of the author’s rights about turning the book into a movie, I think many of them sign away their rights when making the book deal. For a new author like Stephenie, she was probably just thrilled that her book was actually getting published and didn’t put too much thought into signing away the movie rights. I read somewhere that she made a three book deal for the first three and Breaking Dawn was a separate deal. If they decide to make New Moon and Eclipse into movies, she will probably have as little control over them as Twilight. Maybe she was more savvy when she made the BD book deal and will have retained more control over any movie that might be made? Although she has said that one would be almost impossible to film b/c of Renesmee… Anyway, it kind of stinks for us book purists but I just try to look at the book and the movie versions as two separate entities.
