Barefooted and flippin' mad?
Hanson brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zac — who make up the band Hanson — were spotted hanging with fans before a recent concert stop at the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA … curiously tho, the guys were walking around barefoot. When asked if he could sing a bit of their mega hit song MMMBop, Taylor Hanson replied by flipping his middle finger:
When did the little kids from Tulsa, OK get so crabby? The barefootedness I can understand (tho not really support — put your shoes on, guys) but I don’t get the pissy finger flip. In any event, it’s nice to see that my boys from Oklahoma are still on the concert trail playing for their fans. And for the record, I really did love their song MMMbop :)

He probably flipped you off because the last thing that they want to do at that moment is sing and make the walk about them. The walk is NOT about them. It’s about poverty and AIDS and doing tangible things to remedy the problem. Trying to make it about anything other than that is just as irritating as people asking for pictures or holding up stupid signs. Taylor is human… he can be irritated just as the rest of us can be. Instead of reprimanding him for making a gesture that most all of us have in our lives as well and teasing them about being barefoot, why don’t you take the time to promote the good they are doing, or better yet…. go to the website and take some action yourself. Lay off of Taylor, and spread your energies elsewhere.

They are walking barefoot to raise take action against poverty and AIDS in Africa. It is an AMAZING thing they are doing! They are such an inspiration to so many people. And if you watched the actual video footage from this you would know the reporter was harassing Taylor about MMMBop while he was in the middle of doing a charity walk, which is not cool. There is more information about their cause on takethewalk.net. They are raising money (which they are donating for everyone that walks with them) to help drill clean water wells, build a school, provide shoes, provide access to medical care, and provide AIDS treatment and research.
Trent, their walks are for charity. Their latest album is called “The Walk” and before each show they walk a mile with fans and donate money for each mile to help raise awareness about Africa. They also work with TOMs shoes to provide kids in Africa with shoes (hence the reason for walking barefoot).

It’s for Take the Walk.. an amazing thing that they have been doing for quite some time now. My younger sister just went to one of their concerts last month and took part in The Walk they put on before their show. She said it was possibly the coolest thing she’s done. And I’m sure the middle finger is out of context here….

Perez has got nothing on Trent, so don’t even go there! Trent has got some tact and class…Where as Perez exploits everyone and everything.
Anyway, as a Hanson fan, I will say this: While I think it is commendable what their doing, I agree with Trent…The bare foot thing is really gross…They walked through Times Square for crying out loud…Do you know how many diseases you can catch?
Love Hanson, love what they’re doing, but I do think it’s gross. (If you don’t want to walk with them bare foot, you can buy a pair of Tom’s shoes, and for every pair bought they donate a pair to a child in Africa.)
P.S. – Trent you rock, and I totally agree with the others about checking out a Hanson show near you! I think you’d be surprised! :)

I think Hanson rocks at everything they do. They are great at supporting their AIDS charity and great for getting the fans involved in taking action to support the cause as well. They are barefoot for a reason which some people who commented on here already mentioned. Hanson are 3 awesome guys and they do seem really nice. They have every right to flip the bird at any jackass who tries to mock them. Its great that they are doing the walks before each show. Hanson is very dedicated to their cause and thats more than I can say for any other band, or famous person. I just wish I could join them in going on those wallks to help support their cause.
