The Hanson Brothers Greet Their Fans
Barefooted and flippin' mad?

Hanson brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zac — who make up the band Hanson — were spotted hanging with fans before a recent concert stop at the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA … curiously tho, the guys were walking around barefoot. When asked if he could sing a bit of their mega hit song MMMBop, Taylor Hanson replied by flipping his middle finger:

When did the little kids from Tulsa, OK get so crabby? The barefootedness I can understand (tho not really support — put your shoes on, guys) but I don’t get the pissy finger flip. In any event, it’s nice to see that my boys from Oklahoma are still on the concert trail playing for their fans. And for the record, I really did love their song MMMbop :)

  1. Jenn says:

they are barefoot to raise awareness of poverty and AIDS in africa. in each town they perform in they walk a mile. it’s part of a bigger campaign they got going on. they even have a coffee table book called ‘take a walk’

uh. ok. thats all. carry on.

  2. Jane says:

I thought they represented “Christian Values.” The flip of the bird . . . Nice.

  3. Jennifer says:

yeah.. what she said. and they aren’t big on people taking all sorts of pics. their walks are about charity, not rude girls trying to touch them who have signs that say things like “i’ve loved you longer than your wives” or “taylor i want your baby”. sadly, these are signs that have been around them recently. sickening to us true fans!

  4. Lisa says:

From what I read, the barefootedness is actually something they do before performing. They walk one mile barefooted w/ their fans to raise money and awareness for AIDs and to buy shoes for impoverished areas of Africa. Now the whole bird flipping thing…that I don’t have an explanation for. :o)

  5. Winona says:

I totally get the pissy finger-flip. I’m sure they’re 100% sick of getting asked to sing “MMMBop” while on a one-mile charity walk to raise awareness of the AIDS crisis in Africa. They are donating $1 for every fan who Takes the Walk with them before their concerts. Check out http://www.takethewalk.net.

And the coffeetable book is available for preorder now, and I think will be released the middle of next month.

Girl in the top right pic is like “Hmm, I’m wearing already flip flops – maybe I should just go barefoot, too?”. No, seriously, very cool charity work, Hanson bros.!

  7. Tangerine says:

If the photographer had wanted to hear “MMMBop”, he or she should have purchased a ticket to Hanson’s show at the State Theatre that night. They did a stellar version of the song. They don’t perform it for free on the street at the request of smartass photographers who are trying to mock them, and it’s really hard to blame them for that.

  8. FC is about mmm, (bop) 20 minutes from my condo in traffic. Let me tell you, those brothers are dedicated to their cause… it is FREEZING here today and I’m at work looking more like an Eskimo than a human!!!

Still, too bad I didn’t get to see them. I still think Taylor’s a cutie.

  9. itzlove says:

haha. i love Hanson. plain and simple. good for Taylor to flip them off! the walks DEFINITELY aren’t the right time to ask them to sing a bit of MMMBop. Can’t wait to see them tomorrow&saturday :) 8 shows in october[&1in Nov.]=amazing!

  10. Anita says:

Hanson have been doing one mile walks at every tour stop for a while now.I think tehir causes are great.I have took part in 3 walks now flying in from England each time.If you go to a show………maybe then they will play mmmbop.

  11. Winona says:

And Trent – Hanson will be at the HOB on the Sunset Strip on November 14th, and at the HOB Anaheim the following day. Check them out; I guarantee it will be a good show!

  12. christine says:

    liz the second-
eskimos are human beings you know

  13. Jennifer says:

“Christian” values? They have their beliefs but they are not Christian artists. Not sure where that is coming from… They are good, generous and kind people, but they are human and can sometimes get aggrivated by stupid people who ask dumb questions. I like what someone said up there- if they want to see MMMBop, pay the $25 to see the show because they do it every night!

  14. Marnie says:

I will forever love the Hansons and will never tire of MMMBop as my ringtone!

  15. Dawn says:

Yeah, I saw them in April and Taylor said “fuck”, so big deal? I’ve heard 8 year olds say “fuck” and flip the bird. Meh. Plus, if anyone knows anything about Hanson, they know that Mmmbop is basically the reason they left their record company and started their own. And they do sing it live every night, but you know that photography was just being an ass. Maybe people should just move past “Mmmbop” and realize there are other great (and much newer) Hanson songs, too!

  16. AS says:

Aw Trent, why didn’t you look it up before hatin’ on Hanson? Everyone else already explained their totally justified and charitable reason for walking barefoot…They deserve our support – which I would gladly give to them if they would just take their Walk tour to Paris already!

  17. lizzy says:

wow, they must have some pretty tough feet.

  18. Joanne says:

I would imagine they are way over that song – but will be forced to sing it forever …

  19. Cara says:

I live in Northern VA and it was COLD yesterday…they must have some tough feet.

  20. kd says:

    ohhh, taylah.
