‘[REC]’ Gets A Decent Redux

Last night Darion and I scrapped plans to go to Universal Studios and decided instead to catch a movie. We originally planned to spend the day at Universal but because of their weird hours (they close at 6pm) and the fact that they only do their Halloween Horror Nights on the weekends, we decided to nix the idea. I was really interested in going because I am looking for the masks that were worn in the horror movie The Strangers. Since Universal made the movie and their Halloween Horror Nights feature people wearing those masks walking around the park, I was hoping they might have them for sale. If anyone out there knows where I might be able procure those masks, please shoot me a message.

Anyways, D and I decided to go see Quarantine (which is the US remake of the Spanish film [REC] which was released in Spain last year) for our night’s entertainment:

As far as epic horror films go, this one isn’t of the Silence of the Lambs caliber but D and I enjoyed the movie very much. I was previously able to watch the Spanish original in full earlier this year and I loved it … I found this US remake a very true remake of the film. All the key points were kept intact with only minor changes to mix things up a bit. Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter does a great job in the lead role. I just lurve her!! Creepy and gross, this movie really keep us on the edge of our seats — we had a great time. Is this film headed for the Horror Hall of Fame? Prolly not. Is it worth checking out for a few gross and scary chills? Hellz yes! It’s a fun time.

Not sure what is on tap for ce soir … but it’s the weekend, y’all … I’m sure they’ll be lots o’ fun to choose from.

I would actually disagree and say that this movie was one of the better horror movies out there. It was truly gripping and genuine (as genuine as the plot can be). It’s so much better about 80% of horror movies that have come out in the last 5 years.

I hated how it ended. But I have to give it up to the movie, and admit that it had me on the edge of my seat until the last and final scene.

I dont know… but I was very dissapointed with this movie… They made a big buzz around it… And you were waiting for “the big thing” and It turned out to be almost a rip-off 28 days later… And the dumbest thing is that the end is the poster of the movie!!

Effing scary! I love scary movies, original or not, I just enjoy leaving thinking, “that wasn’t me”, and this movie gave me nightmares for 3 days! Definately a jump and scream movie, good stuff, the ending…I don’t even wanna talk about it *shivers* I still have flashbacks
