I'm a marine wife :-) I just grew up in canada prior to meeting my hubby. From my experience, we always wore the poppies from Canadian Thanksgiving up to Christmas! It kind of becomes a part of your wardrobe for a while and you keep it on your coat or something you wear often. My Grandpa even wore one to my wedding in February.
