Lindsay Lohan Does UK ‘Marie Claire’ Magazine
Lindsay Lohan is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of UK Marie Claire magazine. In her coverstory interview, Lindsay makes a few startling revelations concerning her future plans (she wants to adopt, y’all) and talks a bit about her relationship with Samantha Ronson (which you know the magazine was happy to ask about) among other things. Lindsay Lohan may only be 22, but she’s already started making plans to adopt a child. The reformer Hollywood hellraiser insists she is happier than ever since finding love with DJ Samantha Ronson and is looking forward to the future. After experiencing a difficult childhood and past few years, Lohan believes her life experience would make her a good mother. She tells the latest edition of Marie Claire magazine: “At some point, I want to adopt a kid as well. A child in need or a newborn from another country. I’m not sure yet.” Lohan would be the latest in a long list of Hollywood stars who have adopted, including Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, Sharon Stone, Sheryl Crow, Calista Flockhart and Mia Farrow. After months of rumours, Lohan finally confirmed she was in a relationship with Ronson – sister of artist/producer Mark Ronson – last month. Speaking to the magazine, a defiant Lohan declared: “People can think what they want. I’m really happy and that’s all that matters.” Some have credited Ronson with helping Lohan get her life back in order after stints in rehab, a spell in jail as well as being sentenced to community service following her driving under the influence arrests. While Lohan acknowledges Ronson has been a great help in her life, she insists it is her alone who has dealt with her problems. She said: “(Samantha’s) a great person. But I think that anything that’s changed in my life is because of me. I’ve gone through it and I’ve had to deal with it and I’ve made the decision to move forward. So, yeah, she’s a great person.” The couple are so happy together they are reportedly looking at buying an apartment together in New York. Earlier this week, the couple were photographed looking loved up on holiday in Mexico.
Nice. I love that Lindsay is taking credit for her own well-being … I may have prematurely joined the chorus of folks who have credited Samantha for the positive changes in Lindsay’s life — she is right to say that all the positivity in her life begins with her. I also applaud Lindsay’s refusal to listen to speculation about her relationship with Samantha. In the end, it’s their business and their business alone … it really does sound like Linds is in a great place, I’m happy to hear that she’s doing so well. While she’s rockin’ a very Carrie Bradshaw-like belt in her coverphoto, she is also rockin’ a pair of her trademark Lindsay Lohan leggings in this other pic. Y’all know I hate leggings but I do like the green color on her. She looks and sounds amazing … it is so refreshing not having to worry about the health and safety of the Hollywood “It” Girls, ain’t it?

She does look pretty damn good! I am happy she is normal again too. Like Brittany, it got annoying watching and listening to all the drama!! Good for her! Keep it LLO! If you stay positive like this I might even venture out to see a movie you are in:)!!

Hmm. she might as well say “at some point I want to get a new handbag”.
It seems to me (most) celebs seem to think that adopting a child is the same as buying other possessions. Once upon a time people adopted because they couldn’t have their own children and wanted them badly. Nowadays it’s all about PR, their image, not wanting to ruin their figures and go through something as pedestrian as childbirth and plain old “everyone else has one”.

I’m glad her life’s getting back on track but I do wish she could do us all a favor and STFU about politics and hold off having kids until she’s completely sane.

I do not think Linds is ready for a child. I agree with debho, celebrities take children as an accessory–I take pity on celeb’s kids. Celebrities do not understand that kids are human beings–they need love, not money. Not toys. Celebs feel rewarded as they adopt a kid, like they are making a difference and they are oh-so special because they adopted a kid they’ll never truly love, when the real reward should be getting a child.

I don’t think it’s a fair generalization to say that celebs who adopt are automatically self-centered egotists, camille.
When you see Angelina and her pack, if she wasn’t devoted, it’s humanly impossible to do what she does as a “front” for the media. Any mom could tell you that.
And she’s got 6. Yeah she might have nannys, but why not?
If she’s got the means and dedication and heart, what’s so wrong with a little outside help? When you see their smiles, do you honestly believe they would rather be in their home country scraping food off the ground?
Lindsay on the other hand, I’m not so sure.
She’s got so much unsettled issues and doesn’t seem at all ready, given the fact that she’s 22. She’s barely out of rehab and clearly unstable.
