Wooooo … looks good. Is it just me or are these Harry Potter films getting better and better? What do y’all think?

Oh my god! I cant wait!!

As a HUGE fan of the books, the movies are getting worse. The movies are good if you are just interested in the movies though!!

Amanda — you do have a point. For me, I tend to separate the books from the movies. Since the Chamber of Secrets movie, I’ve kept the books and movies compartmentalized. There is no way any movie can do the books justice, no way at all. I love the books but I also like the movies as decent versions of the books — kinda like Cliffs Notes.

HOLY SHIT I CAN’T WAIT!
October 26th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
I’m still confused by the whole running through the thicket to a hug fire/ Ginny (in her bathrobe) and Harry taking on Voldemort in a swamp. What am I missing? I know I can’t have forgotten THAT much of the books.
October 26th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
OH MAN!!!! this looks soooo good. gah, i don’t think i can handle waiting another SIX months for it!
October 26th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
I can’t wait for this movie to come out, it seems like we’ve been waiting for ever! Oh, that’s right we have:)
October 26th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
The films are deff getting better. Daniel Radcliffe makes my heart go pitter-patter.
October 26th, 2008 at 2:22 pm
So glad you shared this!!! I can’t wait :)

Roxster:
It’s a new scene, of an attack on the Burrow at Christmas. It’s Fenrir chasing after Harry. And not battling Voldemort in the swamp, you can see he has a nose. Pretty sure it’s either Fenrir or a Death Eater.
I love the movies, because I watched them before I started reading the books. You just have to separate them and realize they aren’t going to be exactly like the books.
This movie looks AMAZING though.

well, also speaking as a HUGE fan of the books, I agree with Trent, I think they just get better and better. Order of the Pheonix was fantastic, I’m really really excited about this next one.
I think it might be better than Prisoner of Azkaban
October 26th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
i am also a MASSIVE fan of the books, and although OotP didn’t live up to my expectations per se (my expectations are always too high) this looks UNBEFREAKINGLIEVABLE.
gahh. ending scene with book slap = made of awesome
October 26th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
this looks so good! i cannot wait!
October 26th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
I totally agree, I think movies are getting better as characters are getting older :)
October 26th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
this movie it’s gonna be AWSOME!!. Do you se the Dumbledore’s hand!!??: OM I CAN’T WAIT!!.
October 26th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
OH MY GOSH! It’s going to be awesome! They definitely keep getting better. Do we really have to wait until summer!?
October 26th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
I definitely got happy all over watching this trailer. goodness… kind of makes me sad and mad all over again that the movie was pushed back. cannot wait!
October 26th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
“But I am the chosen one.” LMAO

fricken’ sick!!!!!
October 26th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
It’s amazing how a children’s book like HP makes grown adults like us excited like 5 year olds! I also agree with Trent and Samantha, I think the movies are getting better BUT I too have long diassociated the books from the movies. Each movie surpasses the previous one and I love all of em. And damn Harry for hitting puberty, his voice kinda makes me “randy”
October 26th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
The books are hardly children’s books by the time you get to HBP. Holy shit, I cannot wait! The movies are great as stand alone movies, amazing. However, nothing beats staying up all night reading a Harry Potter book!
October 26th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
Someone was wondering, and the scene with Ginny in a bathrobe and the Burrow on fire is a scene that was made up for this movie, I forget why… but it is most definitely NOT in the books. I am a HUGE fan of the books, I’ve read all of them at least 7 times each (some more then others) and I also enjoy the movies, because, like everyone else said, I separate the books from the movies! The movies are good but could NEVER match the books. There’s just too much awesomeness to squeeze into 2 hours! This movie looks phenomenal though, even if it doesn’t match the books! Can’t wait!
October 26th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
Harry Potter is so Yawn!!!!
(Yawwwwwn)
October 26th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
Thanks Kim! Yeah after watching it about 5 more times I realized since it was tall it had to be the Burrow which I guess means there won’t be a wedding there now? I guess we’ll have to wait and see why they wanted to throw that in. I think you’re right about Fenrir, I noticed the nose too and hes the only other one who would be pale and sickly looking. Toni I agree…his voice sounds so different now!! That last scene cracks me up, I keep rewinding just to watch it over and over

I thought I was going to have a total break down when I found out they moved the opening date until next year! I love everything Harry Potter..I can’t wait until the movie finally comes out!!
October 26th, 2008 at 7:10 pm
I can’t help it, knowing how much they’ve left out of the movies has put me off. I usually try to watch a movie before I read the book just for that reason. I’ve been so disappointed by the last three movies. But I’m going to agree, the previews for HBP have me a little hopeful that this movie will be better.
October 26th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
i wish they didnt leave so much out of the movies. but i’m still really excited to see it!!
October 26th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
Looks like it’s going to be a great movie. :)
October 26th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
Well, I think I’m going to CRY…. I can’t wait for this movie! Damn you WB for pushing this movie to a later date!
October 26th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Wow, this is definitely better than the first trailer that came out!
October 26th, 2008 at 9:38 pm
Hey yall! I am also a huge fan of the books, read them all a million times.. and i think the movies will never do justice to the books too, simply because the books are really dark, and that is something that was never really in the movies. i think that the movies are trying to appeal to a huge audience, and the 6th and 7th book may be a little much for the average 10 year old!
still…. really excited for the movie!!!
October 26th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
Can’t wait! It looks awesome!!
October 26th, 2008 at 11:33 pm
Looks awesome. He was much cuter when he was small though haha. I’m anticipating for Twilight more actually.
October 27th, 2008 at 4:01 am
i like the movies, but i loooove the books.
my imagination is way bigger than any of the movies were.
plus there’s always a lot missing from the movies..
anyways, i do enjoy watching them really.
the movies are mostly for people who are too lazy to read.[their loss! hahaha!]

If by ‘better and better’ you mean ‘ignoring the original story line, confusing people who haven’t read the books and missing out important parts’ then… SUUUREE the films are getting better.
October 27th, 2008 at 6:12 am
OMG OMG OMG I can’t wait for this movie to come out. I got all the movies on DVD and I just want more…OMG!!! Im excited about it. I havent really read any of the books but I do plan on it
October 27th, 2008 at 6:22 am
I live in the UK and the trailer was aired on tv a couple of days ago and it says “In theatres November 2008″.
October 27th, 2008 at 7:29 am
SO, I love Harry Potter, I work for a HP Website, and I just love the books. I do, but *DEATHLY HALLOWS SPOILER ALERT* I just finished reading Deathly Hallows for..oh for the 4th or 5th time and I got to the last chapter and ..you know what, I was pissed. “His scar had not hurt in 19 years. All was well.”
ALL WAS WELL? WTF! The more I read the 7th book, the more disappointed I am.
October 27th, 2008 at 7:31 am
Oh, and I do think that Order of the Phoenix was alright as far as the movies do. That one seems to be the best so far to me.
October 27th, 2008 at 7:35 am
OMG that looks amazing! I can’t wait to see this movie!
October 27th, 2008 at 9:56 am
This looks like it will be the best yet. I can`t wait. Go Harry Potter!!!!!!!!
October 27th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
I am so excited! I’m super-bummed out that it has been postponed and now I’ll have to bring a newborn with me. This was supposed to be my last flick in peace pre-baby! lol
October 27th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
i freaked out last night when i watched this. i’m EXTREMELY excited, and EXTREMELY bummed that it’s not coming out until july. the books are definitely better, but the movies are amazing in their own right. you just have to seperate them.
October 27th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Love it! The ending scene is the best, Daniel is a great actor!
October 27th, 2008 at 3:13 pm

October 27th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
looking forward to watching it..gona have to wait a while though :(
is it true that the movie got pushed back bcoz of twilightt ?
October 27th, 2008 at 11:31 pm
CANNOT WAIT.
This is much better than Twilight
October 28th, 2008 at 4:51 am
I have to agree with Amanda, i am a HUGE fan of the books and the movies disappoint me. I understand that because of time they can’t film every detail of the books, but some of the stuff that they have changed and left out was so exciting to read in the books.
For example, in the 6th book Draco’s mother as long white blond hair, in the movie she has black hair with blond streaks, why did they have to change that?
I will see watch the movie and buy the DVD. I just hope that they are splitting the final book into 2 movies because they are going to stick closer to the book.
November 14th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
i was disappointed in the last one but the rest were good but i like the books better cause so much more happens in the books than the movies! Hopefully this one is better than the last! I can’t wait to find out for myself although i am a little tick that they are waiting until next summer to put in theaters!
