Earlier today we got to see new music videos from Xtina Aguilera (boo!) and Mariah Carey (yay!) and now we add Hilary Duff to the list. Hil D. is, unbelievably, releasing a Greatest Hits compilation titled The Best of Hilary Duff and has released the new song Reach Out (which samples Depeche Mode‘s Personal Jesus) to promote it. I still, for the life of me, cannot understand why Hilary is releasing a new compilation of old songs when she already released a compilation of old songs titled Most Wanted just two albums ago … but I digress. HMMM. I don’t particularly care for the song very much. Granted, I’m not a big fan of Personal Jesus either (but DM fans take heart, I love pretty much everything else they’ve released … Violator is one of my fave albums ever and I love every song on it … well, except for the one song in question ;) The vid, I’m afraid, isn’t much better. Are any of y’all feelin’ it?

I think the song is annoying, but the video is really sexy, not slutty. I always love Hilary’s video’s. Can’t wait until she gets a proper record label that’ll let her make the music she wants. It’ll be great!

the song may grow on me actually.. but the video is too… ‘trying too hard’. the vid is like a emerging young star trying to catch attention in any way she can.. any way at all.

As far as the ‘sluttier’ thing….. She is a woman… She is fully clothed… She is doing dance moves less raunchy and provocative than you’d see at any teenage party, so where exactly is the problem? At least she doesn’t take naked photos on her phone and then have them leaked online! (I.e. Miley, Paris, Ugly Veronica Twin)

I love Hilary, but here, she just decides to suddenly grow up 10+ years and make a remix to what I’ve heard is an amazing song. The beginning I Just don’t get. The middle is blehh…the end sucks! I’m sorry, she wins worst video award. I am NOT a hater, like I said I love Hilary…but she best stay with the music that fits her.

She’s releasing another greatest hits album because she is required under her contract with Hollywood Records to release a number of albums. Once she does this, she can get out of her contract with them with as little effort as possible.
