So let me tell you about my day yesterday … for the most part, it was pretty chill … no big problems … until I found out that Yahoo! mail has been effing up for the past month and, long story short, has been filtering out some very important emails out of my Gmail inbox. Essentially, they stopped forwarding my email even tho I pay for their email forwarding service. I mean, it’s not that big a deal but I missed out on a lot of important emails over the past month so I was a bit perturbed. I decided to go down my sorrows in a deep dish of Aussie Cheese Fries (pronounced Auzzie Chayze Froys) at the Outback Steak House in Burbank, CA last night and I was brutally rebuffed upon arrival. It turns out that the cast and crew of NBC‘s new series Kath & Kim had closed down the place for a private party. Not only was I really annoyed that I couldn’t get my cheese fries fix but the gentleman turning away paying customers at the door was very rude … needless to say, they are all on my shit list right about now:

I actually considered hanging around for a bit so that I could give Molly Shannon and Selma Blair a piece of my mind but … meh, I just went home instead. Grrr … I can forgive most things but if you eff with my cheese fries, you’re pretty much dead to me.
Tonight is Britney Night at Tiger Heat and Darion suggested that we venture out to check it out … I think I may take him up on the offer. I’ve not been out on the town in quite a while and I have a hard time saying no to anything Britney related … so we’ll see. I might have to sate my hunger at Outback before I go tho … we’ll see.

Holy poo…
I think you were already on the fence about that show Trent, that is NOT a good omen. Wouldn’t you just like to grab some tongs and yank Selma Blair’s g-string right up her skinny butt?? They should’ve held their party at Curves and had Outback cater it. ;)
That sucks. A pretty good substitution is the Macaroni balls from Jack in the Box. Those will make you oh so happy! Trust me!! Try them…
mmmm….cheese fries….
Well, that show budget must be pretty small if they are going to Outback!! I too get pissed when I’m craving something & somehow someone keeps me from getting it, it’s just not fair & it makes me rude, mean & pissy!
It never ceases to amaze me that they have food on their menu that we’ve never even heard of down here in Australia! rofl
It’s a bit ironic actually.. first they take over Kath & Kim the Austalian TV show, and now they take over your local Aussie restaurant. Can I get a, “WTF MATE”?!
I love the Cheese Fries from Outback!! OMG I would have lost my sh*t! I think I will skip the show, nothing will beat the original!
Hell Trent you must have been fumming to use “shit” instead of “shizz”.I agree the fries at Outback are just delish even here i Miami Beach.Cool man, cool.
I <3 Outback!
And I would love going out to a place having a Britney Night!
OMG…I went yesterday too and I agree that the dude at the door was totally rude. He gave us some card for free food next time but he was soooo sarcastic about it that we gave it back.
@ Debho: I was just about to come in and say the same thing! :D What ARE cheese fries?
Other clangers:
Alice Springs Chicken Quesadilla – yep, very Alice Spring-ian!
Alaskan King Crab – Is that Alaska, NSW?
THANK YOU debho and mittens.
The only place I see cheese fries down here in Oz are at American steakhouses lol
And we don’t pronounce it “chayze”.
Its just cheese lol
Love the strereotypes though. Can’t get rid of em, so theres no point fighting it.
My friend went to the US, convinced a couple of people she was a “whacker.” Climbs up the Harbour Bridge once a week and whacks the koalas off. Oh, and that she had a pet kangaroo.
what the eff are cheese fries. why are they called aussie cheese fries? aussies don’t have cheese fries.
some questions will never be answered
Ohhhh Jess… trust me, you say “chayze.” And Trent, look on the bright side – at least you’re not 2,450 calories closer to a coronary!
i love the outback steakhouse! i live in wollongong in australia and they opened one recently.
those cheese fries are soooooooooooo good.
i love them.
amusingly, everyone at the steakhouse had american accents.
The only Australians that would say “chayse” are the ones being played by American actors ;-)
(yes I am thinking of that episode of the Simpsons *shudder*)
FYI you can download the pilot of Kath and Kim off of iTunes for free :)
Trent, I LOVE LOVE LOVE how u pronounce aussie cheese fries. I actually live down under (Sydney) and just to let you know.. all the outback steak houses here are located in the major cities, none in the outback. unfortunately hahaha
Trent. Lemme just tell you, I’m an American living in Australia, and I would give my firstborn CHILD for some of those Outback Cheese Fries. Sadly enough, the fries here don’t compete. I feel your pain darlin’.
LOL! I’m American but have an Australian husband, and live in Australia. Before I moved to Australia, my father actually told me that everyone drove land rovers in Aussie! HAHAHA
Right. I’ve been to Outback before, and have to say, its all American – theres no Aussie stuff there at all.. Maybe if there was some bbq lamb chops or something.. lol
I think overall, myself included until I moved abroad, American’s are very ignorant of other cultures as a whole, as well as worldly political issues.
