Sex and the City star Kristin Davis was approached by a entrepreneurial member of the Boy Scouts of America, who was trying to sell her some popcorn to help him raise money for his organization, as she left a grocery store in Brentwood, CA. Despite the lad’s rosy cheeked disposition and polite sales pitch, Kristin decided to take a pass and the young scout was left brutally rebuffed:

It would be terribly unfair (altho, really kinda funny) to imply that Kirstin Davis is a heartless, cold-hearted ice queen for denying this innocent young boy so let’s just assume that she either A.) is not a popcorn fan, B.) was in a hurry and couldn’t tarry or C.) has a strict policy against funding the Boy Scouts when all of her extra money goes to the Girl Scouts and their delicious cookies. Let this be a lesson to folks lookin’ to raise funds for non-profit organizations … cookies equal $$$, popcorn equals :(

oh please this article is so made up! i am calling it full of sh*T on http://www.howlegit.com
LOL … you do realize it’s a joke, right? I may have to post this on http://www.clearlyyoudidntgethtejoke.com
I didn’t know that about the Boy Scouts – obviously they have trouble differentiating between evil peodophile Boy Scout leaders and innocent gay folk who just want to enjoy the outdoors! Shame …
What’s a joke? The part that Kristin igored the boy or that the Boy Scouts are homophobes? I’ve never heard that down here in Australia, although I don’t know much about that organisation anymore. I think it’s sad though if it has become that way…teaching boys to tie knots, be prepared and hate certain people is not what I’d like my son to be taught.
I was joking about Kristin but the Boy Scouts do discriminate against people who violate their “moral beliefs”, they do not allow members who are atheists, agnostics, and “known or avowed” homosexuals from membership in its Scouting program: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B.....troversies

[...] Pink is the New Blog. Haven’t you heard? No, I don’t know what that means, either, but that blog has a funny little pic of a Boy Scout trying to sell popcorn to an actress. The blogger has some editorial additions to enhance the pictorial as well as his (?) satire on the event. [...]

Thanks for clearing that up Trent. Have the Boy Scouts always been this way? And do Girl Guides feel the same way?
How about d) refuses to help fund an organization that discriminates against gays and athiests.
I don’t blame her for not buying their overpriced crap. I never buy anything from boy scouts OR girl scouts, cause I refuse to support ANY openly discriminatory self-righteous christian organizations.
And its really fucked up how they camp out in front of stores & ambush people on their way in & out. If I see them there I turn right around & go to a different store.
As an Eagle Scout (Boy Scouts Highest Rank), I can say that the liberal views being spouted about homosexuals is a chief reason for the downfall of society and the decline in traditional moral and ethical values. When this program was created 100 years ago, the moral and ethical values of Americans were exactly what is stated in the Boy Scout Handbook, especially the part about believing in God and being Morally Straight. The Boy Scouts organization is a private organization and has the right to set restrictions on who joins. How is this any different than having traditional All African American Colleges? Or all Women Colleges? Or any one of a number of organizations that set restrictions on who can join. If you don’t want to buy their stuff, then just be polite about it and say no thanks.
Personally, I’m thankful for the restrictions. At least traditional values are alive somewhere in America.
Don’t forget that 100 years ago women were not allowed to vote and minorities were treated like second-class citizens. If that is the morality that you yearn for, Rick, then I feel very sorry for you. And, for the record, I have a very good friend who is both an Eagle Scout and a proud gay man, as well as military friends who proudly serve their country even tho they are discriminated against for being gay by the very military organization that puts them in harm’s way. I only hope that one day discrimination of the kind you are proud of is but a thing of the past.
I don’t think he was selling popcorn at all. He saw the pictures of her babymaker online and asked her if she wanted to be in the next installment of “Hairy Pooter.”
Sure, Rick. They can do whatever they want. Just don’t expect people who aren’t closed-minded to help out I’ll donate my money to organizations who aren’t discriminatory.
I was a Boy Scout myself (made it as far as First Class, then moved to a town without a solid and active troop) and appreciate many of lessons I learned….just not the ones that discriminate based on a misguided notion of morality.

Rick, Liberal views are almost ALWAYS biased. So, while they say, “discrimination is wrong and hateful”, they’ll turn around and support the very same thing IF it fits their agenda. Madonna is a very good example. She is incredibly hateful and shows very little tolerence to anything she doesn’t agree with and she’s proud of it.
And unfortunately, some people are too blind to see it, because it’s not necessarily what they want to see.
I do believe the boyscout is a good organanization and not hateful like the others labeled it to be. Everybody has a right to what they believe in, and I wish we all would treat the “freedom of speech” thing with more respect. It wasn’t made to protect hateful rants and low jabs at people.
