Danity Kane Undergoes A Reorganization
The MTV reality series Making The Band 4, which follows the adventures of the Bad Boy acts Danity Kane, Day 26 and Donny Klang, aired a live season finale episode last night which was a continuation of last week’s shocking episode. At the end of last week’s ep, P. Diddy threatened to kick some folks out of the pop group Danity Kane. In last night’s conclusion ep, we all learned what came of Diddy’s threats:

In order to keep the drama unspoiled for those of you who have yet to see the ep I’ll keep the SHOCKING developments behind the cut. After the jump, find out who if anyone was kicked out of Danity Kane — and why …
So … the future of the fairly successful Danity Kane is now in doubt since it was revealed last night on live TV that Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods have been ejected from the group:

On Tuesday night’s live season-three finale of “Making the Band 4,” Diddy confirmed the rumors that Aubrey O’Day is no longer in Danity Kane. He also kicked out D. Woods, leaving only Aundrea Fimbres, Dawn Richard and Shannon Bex in the group he so carefully put together before our eyes four years ago. “I would rather be hated every damn day of my life for being real than loved for being something I’m not,” O’Day defiantly told Sway on the special that aired Tuesday night. Diddy, who spoke to the girls and the audience via satellite, had some advice for tabloid target Aubrey. “Check this out, baby girl,” Diddy said. “See, your attitude is gonna have you in a dark and lonely place. … What you need to do, at the end of the day, is humble yourself. I got love for Aubrey. I don’t have any beef with her,” he added. “I just want to work with the young lady that I signed, not the person that fame has made her.” “I don’t think any of us has been happy for a long time,” admitted D.Woods, who Diddy said had gotten “caught up in the wrath” of Aubrey. MTV News reached out to a rep for Danity Kane to see where the future of the band stands now that Aubrey and D. Woods are no longer in the group. It’s being reported that D.Woods has plans to work with another group, the Girls Club. O’Day, who recently made her Broadway debut in “Hairspray,” has not announced what she will be doing next. “Tonight is a representation of the end of a chapter in my life; it’s not the end of the book,” O’Day said in a backstage interview before the finale. “I will do everything possible to make my mark on this industry, and Danity Kane and Puff provided me with this amazing opportunity to go out and really touch people’s hearts. I think the way that we were able to inspire people was something that I will never be able to achieve in that way again in my life.” On Tuesday, it was also confirmed that there will be another season of “Making the Band.”
Dawn, one of the remaining members of Danity Kane, spoke with US Weekly and revealed why she thinks that Diddy decided to give Aubrey and D. Woods the boot:
“Puff did not like [O'Day's] image…where her image was going for the group,” Dawn Richard – one of the three remaining bandmates – tells Usmagazine.com exclusively. “It wasn’t a personal thing,” Richard continues, saying her sexy look (the singer posed topless in Complex last month) was alienating young fans. “We had just did a signing with Dollhouse Teen, which is for 13, 14-year-old young girls,” Richard says. “So we can’t do that one day and then the next day do an obnoxious cover…. [Diddy] wants the fans, and he says he can’t do that if we can continue to go in the direction that we were going.” … As for D. Woods getting tossed? Diddy said she got “caught up in the wrath” of O’Day. But not to worry, Danity Kane fans: the group will go on. “Well Puff told me specifically that Aubrey is no longer in Danity Kane and Danity Kane will move forward without her,” Richard says. And to find the girls’ replacements? “He has not said anything per that,” Richard says. “But I think in my heart that he is gonna do another show.”
Despite all assurances from everyone involved with last night’s episode of Making the Band 4 — from Diddy who did the kicking out to Aubrey who was kicked out — I am having a tough time totally believing the realness of this development. DK managed to release 2 #1 albums in succession and they scored a major hit with their song Damaged this year alone. Watching the way that this season of MTB4 played out, the ejection of both Aubrey and D. Woods seemed very odd to me. Diddy sends the ladies on a celebratory vacay in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico after they completed a successful tour and then he calls them into a meeting and kicks out two of the members. It just doesn’t make sense. The DK members promised with tear-filled eyes that all of this is “real” … I’m not 100% convinced — especially when it was announced that there will be another season of Making The Band. Will there be a reconciliation? Will there be auditions for replacements? In either event, Diddy and MTV are counting on the fact that fans of the show will be watching. That being said, I can see the point that Aubrey has been taking her image into racier territory than the rest of the group. From the start, I always felt that Aubrey has set herself apart from the rest of DK and, to be honest, I always thought she’d be the one to leave of her on volition. The bottom line here is that DK has been changed forever. Is it a huge mistake on Diddy’s part to make such sweeping changes or will the group find new life in a new incarnation? Will Aubrey and D. Woods be able to find success elsewhere? Does anyone really care either way about any of this?

meh. i really dont see a danity kane without aubrey. IMO this is all for ratings
October 15th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
ya, aubrey was the only one who really got any attention, and is the only one i can ever recall from the group. getting rid of her…isnt gunna help out danity kane at all
October 15th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
not a real fan of theirs anyway, but without aubrey it just seems pointless
October 15th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
I think DK will never be the same without the other 2 girls. as i said on my myspace page. F&%# DK I’m rolling with Aubrey. She was the only reason I watched Making the Band and i will support her in whatever she finds herself doing.
October 15th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
It is odd that Aubrey is being kicked out for having a “sexy” image when to me, the whole group does.
October 15th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
Aubrey is such a skank. I remember when the show first started she was so cute and normalish. Now, she’s slutty and STDish
October 15th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
Ya’ll are crazy! Aubrey will be nothing without DK. She did not make Danity Kane, Danity Kane made her. True it will be different without her and i wish this did not have to happen but she fucked up. She changed and Diddy had every right to kick her out
October 15th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
I don’t get why he kicked her out, I mean, yeah, Aubrey couldn’t sing for shit… but she was the only one who kept Danity Kane on the news, she is the only talked about constantly on blogs or being interviewed. She made tons of publicity for Danity Kane, no one really knows the other names of the girls…
October 15th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
I wonder…. do… do you have a first aid kit handy?! :’(
October 15th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
When I hear Danity Kane there are only two things that come to mind:
“do, do you have a first aide kit handy…”
&
Aubrey O’Day.
I think it is all a big publicity stunt & if it isn’t then I think it is a huge mistake.
October 15th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
Yea I do think that Aubrey was a good choice to kick out, she was going into the wrong direction. As for D.Woods well I didn’t like her from the get go just like I don’t like Dawn. For some reason I think Dawn probably had something to do with D. Woods and Aubrey being kicked out (she looks shady)
October 15th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
if aubrey o’day’s ‘real’ self is the person who is on the cover of complex magazine, then good for P.D. for ejecting her from the group. it’s one thing to be sexy in a tasteful manner and another to splash yourself in the way she did. i don’t watch this show, i saw the first episodes when they were first making the band and she used to be cute and had an ‘it’ factor. too bad she let it get to her head thinking whatever she does will be ‘awesome’. sorry, but we all make mistakes and how she’s turned out is a handful of them.
October 15th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
Does anyone else remember the first two seasons of MTB3 when Andrea and Aubrey were super BFF’s? That’s the story I want to see. What happened to the love?!?!
October 15th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
Aubrey has always been quite a character on MTB but seeing her outside of the group in pictures where she is acting out of control is ridiculous. She has always tried to stand out in the group and outshine everyone. Diddy was bound to kick her out…she is not that cute anyways, especially with her half eyed smile thing that she thinks is cute…ughh and yes Andrea and Aubrey were super close and I loved MTB then!!! ughh Aubrey ruined the group!
October 15th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
Yeah! Aubrey and Aundrea were like besties when the show first started. Npw, they don’t even talk? WHYYYYYYY???? lol… Anyway, I luv Aundrea. As long as she’s still in the group, I’m cool. True, it won’t be the same without D and Aubrey, but if D isn’t happy, then it’s best for her to leave. Aubrey definitely has changed. She was one of my faves, along with Drea, when the show first started, but now, she’s just so whatev to me….
October 15th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
I totlly think Aubrey needed to go. She had a huge ego and needed to get over herself. She was the most notorious member of Danity Kane but not the most talented, participating in slutty photo shoots and popping up on TMZ is nothing special. I think Diddy made the right decision and the other members of DK need to thank their lucky stars that Diddy didn’t disbanf the whole group. As for D. Woods, that hair of hers has been driving me crazy! I’m just relieved to see it go.
October 15th, 2008 at 3:48 pm
Maybe she can be on Rock of Love?
October 15th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
Aubrey is hot. She doesn’t need DK. bottom line. I have been waiting for her to break free. She is talented enough to win Diddy’s approval, therefore putting her in a highly entertaining pop group. Diddy scanned the country for the most well rounded entertainers and she was “top runner,” so obviously she can make it. Plus she’s Aubrey O’Day. She’s already got tremendous fame. She’ll be fine. Really, come’on guys.
October 15th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
she’s changed it makes sense…I never liked D Woods.
October 15th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
I’m with everyone who wants to know what happened between Aubrey & Aundrea. Anyways, Aundrea is my fav so as long as she’s still there, I don’t really care about the others.
October 15th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Ahaha at Natalie’s comment.
Anyways. I was upset to hear that Aubrey and Aundrea aren’t friends anymore. They were friends from the beginning and it’s just sad to see things like that happen. I have no idea how Danity Kane is going to be 3 people now. Aubrey basically ‘made’ the group with her ’sex appeal’. I hope Shannon gets more attention because I feel like she is always left out.
In my opinion, I like P.Diddy is full of BS and I hate that he kicked people out of the group.
October 15th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
I like shannon the best. it’s sad that so many of the others don’t get any attention… it’s true that you have to be slutty or something like that to get any attention. lame.
October 15th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
aubrey is so trashy. shes only popular because being trashy gets people’s attention. i dont think the quality fans of the group will miss her as long as the group keeps making catchy songs, and they weren’t catchy because of aubrey. i bet the next season will be another competition to replace them.
October 15th, 2008 at 4:55 pm
He shouldn’t have gotten rid of D.Woods, but I understand why he FINALLY got rid of Aubrey. But yea, WTF, I thought Aubrey and Aundrea were BEST friends in the beginning…what happened?
October 15th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
If anyone has an oversized ego it’s Dawn. That bitch needs to go. She’s almost as annoying as Diddy. Both those bitches should jump off a cliff.
October 15th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
[...] Original post by It’s Trent, Bitch! [...]
October 15th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
This seriously sucks. I can’t believe it. I didn’t watch it, because I always forget this season, but still…
I wonder if there is any chance of reconciliation.
I know Aubrey has always stood out, but I can’t imagine her being a huge success on her own, and the same goes for D. Woods, though I love them both.
This is the ONLY thing successful from Diddy’s entire Making Da Band franchise, and he is the one that broke it up. What a ding-a-ling.
RIP Danity Kane. :( (If this is for real…)
October 15th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
Haha your tags kinda gave away who got kicked off……..
October 15th, 2008 at 5:43 pm
who cares? no one? oh, ok…
October 15th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
Seriously?!? Do yall really think Aubrey will flourish outside of DK? I think it will do the opposite. She doesn’t have people who can actually sing leading the chorus and vocals. I am glad Diddy kicked her out she was raunchy and seriously just looks like trash. I think the group can do fine without her. I hope this is real.
October 15th, 2008 at 7:52 pm
Aubrey seriously needs some psychiatric help – and quickly. She’s just a mess and she’s in some mental trouble.
October 15th, 2008 at 7:59 pm
Accoring to Aubrey’s MySpace page DK is still together – I read into that she is still part of group I guess only time will tell =)
October 15th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
thank god, Aubrey is obnoxious and at least the girls left are the ones (in my opinion) can sing the best. We’ll see what happens, but I think it’s for the best. :)
October 15th, 2008 at 8:23 pm
whoa, what’s with the “slut this, trashy that” bs? posing topless and wearing revealing clothing does not make you a “slut”. let’s all stop bashing each other, ladies. i’m pretty sure none of the commenters here are privy to her sex life!
also, to karly – stdish? really? go back to the 1950s.
tbh i think aubrey is kind of obnoxious , but more people know of her than of danity kane. what does that tell you? : /
October 15th, 2008 at 9:03 pm
oh please everyone acts like she posed for playboy.. seriously its complex magazine its a mens magazine people! look on maxim and FHM you are gonna see girls posing provocatively. Its pictures not a porn tape. I think aubrey represented herself very well she taught people to stand up for themselves and shes a strong women, Look at the remaining girls if Diddy disrespects them you wont hear a peep out of them. Although it is a business relationship you should always stand up for yourself and be able to address issues in a mature manner with your boss. and Diddy just isn’t that great of a boss. His bands all periodically seize to show promise now he has DK and can’t even handle them. I personally think Dawn is a hateful person for already showing no sympathy over the lost of two sisters who worked so hare for the past 6 years together on the project. I mean if anyone was entitled to Danity Kane it was Aubrey she was there from the start, season 1. And she fought tooth and nail for that position. Diddy just didn’t like how she no longer saw him as that wonderful idol that she used when she was 19. I mean everyone changes from 19 to 25. You cant expect anyone to remain the same. If you looked at pictures of all the girls from the beginning their all differant. Aubrey was smart enough to start something outside of Danity Kane so she’d have a back up to fall on. Overall there really isn’t a danity kane without Aubrey. Look at the live finale yesterday the interview with the remaining members was painful to watch. Their personality is lacking during the interview with sway, until Aubrey came out and swept the floors and room with her speech. No matter what Aubreys going to be successful. I’m not supporting a “vision” that is aubrey-less. or a band that can just ditch their sisters like this. They are all entitled to be in the band but Dawn must be happy, I mean she did post in her site a while back that dwoods and Aubs were out of DK when they weren’t. Congrats you have your wish! Its seems shes already starting to portray them in a bad light. Thats quick.
October 15th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
meh… don’t care. who are these ppl again?
October 15th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
She MADE that group…
October 15th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
“Does anyone even care either way?”
NOPE!
October 16th, 2008 at 6:53 am
i think that it was a bad business move on puff’s part…..i agree aubrey was taking her image to a racier level and that needed to be put in check, but without her i dont think the group is complete..and it is so obvious that the remaing 3 are in the own clique, but puff only sees aubrey as a problem..destinys child only worked as 3 cas the most recognizable person was still there (beyonce)….the only person with a chance out of the 3 is dawn….
October 16th, 2008 at 6:56 am
This group has one hit single per album…
October 16th, 2008 at 8:34 am
I love Dawn! I think that out of everyone that she is the most marketable and can transition from Pop to R&B seamlessly. However, when I first started watching Making the Band 3, I loved Aubrey! I rooted for her not to be kicked off and I just loved her style and personality. Then all of a sudden she’s lubed up with baby oil and has these huge implants and duck lips. I find that to be a betrayal to her original fans, I’m not sad that Aubrey is not in the group any more because honestly I don’t believe that there will a group.
Other blog sites have been reporting for quite some time now that Dawn has been signed to Bad Boy as a solo artist and that she has been secretly touring as the aforementioned solo artist. The bottom line is that Danity Kane is through and that this is all a distraction to ensure that Dawn coming out as a solo artist is not seen as back stabbing.
October 16th, 2008 at 9:19 am
okay, now i feel better that i know what happened. haha but i have to agree with you, though, on the case of Aubrey. she was a little too racy and knew that she wouldn’t be in the group much past this year. but with D, that came as a surprise. i didn’t much like her either, though, so it’s cool. my fave has always been Shannon and that other girl with brown hair (haha i don’t even know her name!).
October 16th, 2008 at 10:03 am
I’m with Diddy on this one. I really miss the original Aubrey. :| Aubrey 2.0 makes Pamela Anderson look classy.
October 16th, 2008 at 10:17 am
Those pictures of Aubrey topless and licking a nasty stripper pole really put me off about her. She acts like a total skank, which unfortunately is getting her the wrong kind of attention. She parties constantly and her fashion skills are severely lacking!! I dont care much for DK…but i hope they do well without her. She will be sorry she acted like trash, mark my words.
October 16th, 2008 at 11:07 am
I smell Aubrey getting her own reality show, while DK ‘moves’ on. BOOM! Double the media.
October 16th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
I have loved Aubrey from the beginning, Ioved her when she was cute and seemingly innocent and I love her now as “Ivory.” There is no way that DK will be able to stay standing without her, all the other girls are so vanilla. However, I do trust that Diddy knows what he is doing – MTB and DK jumped the shark at least six months ago. I do look forward to Aubrey’s future career of posing for Play Boy and her TV comeback on VHI1’s Celebrity Rehab.
October 16th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
I completely agree w/u about how Aubrey’s future will play out! Is it just me or did Aubrey look like she was on something during the finale. Her behavior was very strange!
October 24th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
If this is real.
Then DIddy made a grave mistake. If Aubrey is as wonky as she seems to be, then Diddy should have insisted she get help. Not toss her from the group. To do it so publicly could send Aubrey into a a serious tailspin!!
Remember Anna Nicole?!
October 26th, 2008 at 4:52 am
Aubrey got attention yes but not the kind of attention that Diddy liked. Actually http://aubreyoday.us posted an interview from a Day26 member Brian. Brian said: “I’m going to tell you something about that. I love Aubrey. She’s a very talented woman and she’s my sister. But the Aubrey you saw in the season finale is not the Aubrey we are used to seeing. I’m not trying to bash her. She’s a talented young lady. But she went out there and she handled the situation the most unprofessional way possible. There’s a lot that went on behind the scenes and the cameras only are going to show what they want to show. You didn’t get to see everything. There was a lot building up to Aubrey getting kicked out but you didn’t get to see it.”
That’s really sad. Also to much too sooon – and more money more problems. Yes “Damaged” went platinum and their last album as a 5sum went #1.But also Aubrey became a mini mogul in months. She started a clothing line” Heart On my Sleeve”, “HairSpray” and she’s now working on a solo album after her DK demise. This reminds of when Ginger left the Spice Girls in ‘98. Ginger lloked tried and done and over it. And Aubrey looked the same.
