A Whole Slew Of ‘Twilight’ Movie Photos

Brace yerselves
October 24th, 2008

We are about 28 days away from the premiere of the new Twilight movie based on the book of the same name and fans of the tween vampire romantic tale are gearing up for the big day. But what is in store for fans when the characters they love so much in book form make the transition to the big screen?

After the jump, check out a WHOLE BUNCH of photos from the Twilight movie that gives you a pretty good feel for the way the movie will look. From the Cullen family to Jacob’s crew to those romantic moments between Edward and Bella — be spoiled if you dare, they’re all just behind the cut …

While some of the characters don’t look exactly the way in envisioned them in my head, it looks like they really have captured the essence and feel of the book. I’m not even a huge Twilight fan and I really like what I see here. I imagine that hardcore Twilighters might agree … or not? You tell me. Does this movie look like it’s gonna do the book (and fans) justice or do y’all think they missed the mark?

I think the movie will be good.. I’m a huge Twilight fan and I’m really excited for the movie!

  2. Angel Says:

I’m really excited for this movie. While everything isn’t “quite” what I envisioned (ie. I really don’t think they got it right on for Bella, Kristin Stewart seems to lack that something as for some of the Cullens), I think the movie will be great!

  3. Mandy Says:

Movie’s NEVER do the books justice, but I’m anxious to see the movie irregardless. ;)

  4. Veronica Says:

It looks like it will be good… EXCEPT for Edward. He’s not really what I envisioned in my mind when reading the book. He’s a little blah, compared to my imagination! :)

  5. camille Says:

    Mandy–I agree completely!

  6. tiff Says:

I’m a huge twilight fan and think the movie will be great! However, I don’t think they got Bella right. The “movie version” seems to be lacking.

  7. camille Says:

I’ve never read the book before. Can someone fill me in?

  8. geana Says:

who cares if hes not the “right” edward…robert pattinson is hot. as for the rest of the characters..im not blown away, but neither was i after i read book 2,3 and 4. so if the movie is a total dud…oh well we get an hour and 40 mins. to look at someone very cute

  9. Faith Says:

I don’t think Robert Pattinson is hot really..I can’t think of him as anyone but Cedric Diggory…Now, Chace Crawford would be my Edward of choice. But I’m happy to deal with Pattinson…because I looove me some Twilight!

  10. Weedy McStoned Says:

ITA with Mandy. Movies rarely touch the spirit of the book. However, I’ll be first in line for this movie!

  11. Liz Says:

I am really looking forward to seeing this movie. I don’t think Robert Pattinson is very good looking. From what I have seen so far, they do stay true to the book. Whether it turns out good or bad, we just have to wait a month and half to see.

  12. Grace Says:

I am a fan of the series….I do agree most movies that are based on books never do it justice. Even though I like Robert Pattinson, he wasn’t the Edward I pictured in my head when I was still reading the books. I was thinking a Chace Crawford or the likes of Jason Behr (from Roswell, if only he was still young).

  13. joe Says:

    F*CKING ROCKS!!
I am super excited and I think that everyone they cast has truley gotten the essence of their character and the book. The movie is going to kick ass!
The Books are a great love story. I love and am slightly obsessed with them as well. No book has ever gotten me so enraptured like this before. Thank you Stephenie Meyer for weaving such a beautiful and fun tale. =)

  14. Ann Says:

The crazy thing is, when I was reading it for the first time, I totally thought “Cedric Diggory would make a good Edward!” Bella though…not what I pictured at all.

  15. Cassie Says:

I’m pretty happy with the casting, to be honest. In contrast to the horror I felt when I saw the casting for the first Harry Potter films (although they grew on me), although I think they could have picked a better cast for Bella, her voice bothers me. I definitely will be seeing it the second it comes out! and probably a second time after that.

  16. Morgan Says:

Robert Pattinson wasn’t exactly who I pictured as Edward either, but we’ll see if he can make the character his own. I do give them props for finding a real ACTOR to play him instead of some dumb sexy eye-candy. Not sure about that Brooklyn accent he uses in half of the new trailer though? Besides that, the big casting misstep I think they made was Jasper (Far left in the “Team Edward” photo.. He looks freaking strange.

  17. Jessica Says:

    cant wait!!!

  18. Suzie Says:

Cannot WAIT for this movie to come out. I have probably watched the trailers umpteen times and still love it. I agree that the actor playing Bella Swan’s voice is a tad distractic, but Robert Pattinson is EXACTLY how I pictured dear Edward in my head. I will most def. own this movie! Enjoy Twilighters :)

  19. Heather Says:

The characters didin’t physically hit what I had pictured in my head. I agree with everyone else that Kirstin Stewart is as far from Bella as they could have picked.

Also, they shot the movie on the Oregon coast instead of the Northern WA coast. Having grown up in Forks and just getting back for the OR coast I know that they look nothing a like.

But I’m a total die hard Twilight fan so I will be going to see the movie without fail.

Here’s to hoping she finishes Midnight Sun soon!

  20. kristy Says:

    ahhhhhhhh!! im sooooo excited!!

ewww the la push boys do not look anything like i envisioned them! but damnnn the cullens are SEXY!

  21. LipGloss712 Says:

when i first saw robert pattinson as edward, i didn’t like it, but he did grow on me so. i have always thought kristin stewart was pretty so i do like her as bella, unlike a lot of the chicks here that posted.

liz- the movie is not so true to the book. certain conversations happened elsewhere and scenarios are completely different. like she does not tell him she knows hes a vampire in the forrest, but in his volvo. and she does not wear a baseball unform in the book like in the trailer i saw. also, after james refers to her as a snack, edward is the only who gets defensive, not the whole cullen family. and when he is taking her away, she is in the back seat, not the front. another thing i noticed is that charlie says a security guard was attacked by some factory when no one was attacked in the book. and edward does not take bella up in the trees. he just carries her on his back while he runs super fast. edward does not flee the scene of the crash when the van was about to hit bella. thats what i noticed from the trailers i saw. bella was unconscious when edward killed james but where is carlile and esme? also, bella does not hide behind some pillar and spray mace on james. at the prom, she is wearing a high heel on the foot that does not have a broken leg, not her dirty sneakers. true to the book eh? i don’t think so.

i am still extremely excited about this movie though. i am a huge fanatic of the twilight saga.

  22. WOW.... Says:

    I’M SO EXCITED.
The guy playing Jacob looks hot in the photo rather than the ones I’ve seen. So, SO PUMPED….

  23. Jena Says:

They look pretty good with what I envisioned. Some little problems, but this is Hollywood so…

  24. Leila Says:

I think it’s going to be really good. You can’t expect it to compare to the books though, the books were far too good lol. Stephenie Meyers was on set while they were filming so I trust it will be true to the book.

  25. Gabrielle Says:

In the books, Bella isn’t given that much of a description on purpose. It’s so that people can envision themselves as Bella more easily. Kristen Stewart fits Stephanie Meyer’s detailed description of Bella quite I think. You can find her description on her website.

  26. Sam Says:

i love twilight and robert pattinson…. i don’t know how much i’m feeling carlisle, rosalie, and bella though…. i pictured them differently. regardless, i’m gonna see the midnight show for sure! i’m sure it will be great!

  27. tori Says:

i am sooo excited fo rhte movie, but there are two characters i dont think the casted right..bella, i think kristen stewart is two weak looking. and while bella isnt the most brave person, i pictured not as frail and kristen, also, nikki, the girl who plays rasalie, i mean shes’s gorgeous, dont get me wrong, but not as stunningly beautifuly as the books protray her, but who knows, i coudl be wrong, i’ll have to wait for the movie!!!! but soo excited

  28. Ashley Says:

le sigh – that is all

  29. sharty Says:

i agree with basically everyone in saying bella was not cast right. and im also VERY nervous about the on screen chemistry between bella and edward. theyre supposed to be so intense no ones surprised they get married. i just really hope it leans more kate and leo than keira and orlando.

  30. Ashley Says:

Heather, I totally agree with you! I live in Washington, vacation in Oregon all the time when I was younger, and can totally tell the difference between locations LOL.

  31. Cherron Says:

i don’t care how close it is to the book.. its going to be AMAZING>
& i absolutely love these pics. and robert pattinson.
    i’m so excitedddd.

  32. Bean Says:

these pics have been around for a while, although i certainly don’t mind seeing them again. I got to read the script and there are changes from the book, but nothing super drastic or enfuriating, but thats to be expected when books are made into movies, sometimes things have no choice but to be changed. Personally I like the castings, although Jackson Rathborn (Jasper) isn’t what I pictured and Jacobs friends aren’t how I pictured them either, same with Charlie, but other than that I think everything is pretty close to what I had envisioned in my head. I can’t see anyone other than Robert Pattinson as Edward *sighs* and I’m anxiously waiting for the movie and I convinced my bf to take the afternoon off from work the day it comes out because I have to work that weekend and don’t have the patience to wait until the next weekend to go see it lol

  33. aimie Says:

i can’t wait to see the full picture. while i love twilight and how the whole story is from bella’s perspective… the movie can’t and i don’t think will be quite like that and i cannot wait to see the “full” story.

  34. lori Says:

love it!!!! i’m so excited!!! thanks for posting trent – you’re the best <3

  35. Nancy Says:

I have to say I envisioned something ENTIRELY different. I don’t think Kristen Stewart would have been my first choice for Bella and most of the Cullens are cast differently than I expected but I’m really excited to see it. I think it’ll be amazing and I’m hoping I’ll be won over and any doubts I have will disappear.

  36. Beck Says:

They all are pretty much what I envisioned in my head. Which is totally cool as far as I’m concerned! I can’t wait for the movie!!!! Love all of pics!!!!

  37. Melissa Says:

I’m a huge twilight fan and I think the movie is going to be amazing!!!! I think the only person mis-casted was the kid who plays Jacob…but I guess it’s also because I don’t really like him lol. I LOVE EDWARD!!!! Rob is oooohhh so amazing!!! I can’t wait for this movie to come out!!

  38. roxster Says:

I agree I find Kristen Stewarts voice to be a bit too…deep? Theres something about it thats distracting, especially when shes explaining how she’s come to her conclusions of what Edward is. Its not with the same confusion and hesitancy that Bella has in the book. And I am a bit nervous for Rob Pattinson’s accent since he’s said he didn’t have any official training. The first few trailers he seemed fine (other then sound scottish when he said graduation caps were a “private joke”), but this one he seems a bit off, especially when he’s explaining that his family is different from others like them. I think he’s good for Edward, b/c he’s supposed to be good lucking but at the same time a little eery looking (and Rob looks creepy in the trailer when hes walking into school with Bella and smiles). He’s got the lop sided smile down though, thats for sure. In terms of the rest of the case, Charlie is scrawnier and weaker looking then I pictured I thought he was stockier. And Esme I pictured as weaker (also a little blonder and straighter hair?). The baseball uniforms are stupid. Who wears baseball uniforms for a pick up game with their family? Thats the only thing that actually really annoys me about the trailors. Other then that, the movie looks like a good representation of the book. Obviously since the entire book is Bella’s perspective and the movie can’t be that way, there are additional scenes pulled in to explain things, or make things more then just dialogue. Also, the books weakness was that the problem with the other vampires popped up almost randomly at the end, the first 3/4 of the book was focused on Bell and Edward falling in love. A movie needs more action, which is why they probably added in the nomads earlier and hints at the danger they pose. It helps it appeal to more people, I know they’re pushing the scenes from the ballet studio in hopes it’ll help draw some males (or at least make them more willing to go with their gfs).

  39. Sarah Says:

I loved the first and second book, and i’m on the third one right now. I am superrrrrrr excited to see Twilight. Edward is EXACTLY like i imagined him, if not better! Rob Pattinson is HOT TIMES A MILLION. but i dont like who they picked to be Bella. it should have been somebody else. Kristen Stewart’s kinda weird. not bella material.

  40. Chelsea Says:

OMG, if people really love the book, they wouldn’t complain about the movie! I LOVE the books, and i don’t care if they cast the wrong actors, or strayed too far from the movie, its still the vapire love story i fell in love with (lol).

  41. Chelsea Says:

Oh, btw rob is PERFECT for edward (sigh)

  42. lalalala Says:

omg it is everything i imagined it to be

  43. bee Says:

i think we have to reserve judgment about casting until we have actually seen the movie! i’m super excited for it… especially for robert pattinson <3

  44. WickedSandwich Says:

I’m not sure about the Bella but I’m not judging…It looks like a better book to movie conversion then the Harry Potter books. I still wish Alice would’vehad black hair instead of the brown..I know its picky but eveytime Alice was described was with her Black pixie hair… :(

  45. Niftywench Says:

i just finished Eclipse and about to tear into Breaking Dawn…this movie will most likely kick ass. i just started looking at all the photos, and i really like the casting. i think because i *just* read everything it’s still so new to me.
    SOOO excited!

  46. Jessica Says:

    OMG I’m so excited

  47. kristy Says:

i hate alice btw.. she looks way too old and not nearly pixie-ish enough

  48. jean Says:

I always thought Bella would look a bit differently than Kristen Stewart…despite many people thinking otherwise I actually think that Robert Pattison was a pretty good choice for Edward. Gah, I’m in NZ so it won’t come out till X-Mas. How sad :(

    Team Edward, FTW (:

  49. TJo Says:

I agree that movies seldom have the greatness of the book. But sometimes they are an entity of thier own and still great. I feel this movie will turn out this way. From pictures (we will not have the feel of it all till we see the movie) I think Edwards character was a good pick. I don’t think they could have dead on gotten what bella describes as such a perfect beautiful person. Bella is cute in the movie pictures but not astonishing. Just like she describes herself in the book. The rest are ehhh, fine. Except rosalie. I do not care for who is playing her. she is a pretty girl but to me seems so plain. In the book she was the most beautiful of all of them. Megan fox should have played her lol ;)

  50. Moggy Says:

i think the movie will do the book justice but imo, KRISTEN STEWART was a POOR choice for Bella, and I find that slightly disheartening, they could have done much better casting that role. Also, James, Victoria and Laurant I am a little leery about as well. I don’t know if the actors chosen for those roles were good choices as well. James and Victoria yes, perhaps, but def NOT Laurant.

  51. Amber Says:

So I really want to see the movie but honestly I think this can be one of the only stories from the series that translates to the screen well…maybe 2 as well. I just was not impressed with 3 or 4. They were boring! All this build up for a tiny bit of action. The books are still entertaining but hopefully the movie gives them new life.

  52. athena Says:

OMG!!! i can’t freaking wait for this movie! i think the casting is perfect… esp Edward- Rob Pattinson is SO hot. at first when i saw who they had as bella i was taken aback. now that some time has passed she has really grown on me. as far as the rest of the cast, i didn’t really care too much, lol.
one thing i’m worried about… i saw this behind the scenes for the prom scene.. and they had victoria in it… ? wtf ? i dunno, i’m sure it’s to get some more action in the movie, but still… i hate when they totally write things in that were never in the book. oh well, i still can’t wait!! :)

  53. athena Says:

P.S. as long as Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinsonhave the same chemistry as bella and edward i’m cool with who they picked… and from what i’ve seen so far i think they will… !!!!

  54. Lynne Says:

i’m excited to see the movie just to see how they’ve adapted the book into the big screen… the casting isn’t as expected – pattinson looks the part, but he doesn’t speak as i would’ve though edward would (a little more refined…) and kristin stewart? i LOVED her in IN THE LAND OF WOMEN, so i’ve got no complaints about her getting the part. the actor who plays dr. cullen does not come off as a doctor for me – still reminds me of the football guy he played in CAN’T HARDLY WAIT. personally, i was expecting ROSALIE to be stunning, but the actress looks a bit too commercial. alice and jasper are fine… i thought emmett would be BIGGER, but eh, he’s ok.

AS FOR TEAM JACOB – they look too young… but IT IS the first book, so maybe they’ll look more menacing later on. i’m interested to see who’ll play Leah and Sam, and the rest of the pack. i would’ve loved to see STEVEN STRAIT play jacob, but he does look too old to be 17… =(

  55. Jackie Says:

Oh God I can’t wait for this movie. The cast playing the Cullens look waaaaaaaaaay better in real life. Since they’re Vamps with light skin and gold eyes…they’re gonna look weird but Jasper is gorgeous in person. Rob Patzz is super hot!

He’s not how I pictured Edward physically, but he’s still effing beautiful, the guys is just sex-on-legs! :)

  56. ferra Says:

i think they did a pretty good job casting compared to what stephenie meyer had described them in the book as. I think that the casting crew should have let her be more invovled in the descion of the actors

  57. Ria Says:

Chace crawford as Edward? I think Ed Westwick would be much better! You know, the icy-cool attitude…

  58. Noura Says:

Seriously !! i cant wait Twilight !! AM A HUGE FaN !! but hope we get here in kuwait at the same time as the U.S cuz i cant wait anymore ;p haha
i hope the movie would be as good as the book !! n not so crappy as P.S i love u ! the book was amazing but the movie Sorry to say this but crappy !!

  59. duh Says:

when i first found out that they cast RobPat as Edward i thought “WTF did they even read the book?!” but he grew on me so i’m pretty fine with it for now. bella seems okay, but the one they cast for rosalie is so plain! ugh.

  60. Girls Gossip Hollywood Says:

Kudos! Excellent site. Been a fan of your blog and have been keeping up reading your articles! Love ya!

  61. Indiesr Says:

Mandy, I totally agree with you. The movies never do the books justice, but I’m excited just the same. I cant hardly wait.

  62. Fiona Says:

I know a lot of people are already judging the movie. There are some things I’m disappointed were left out, but all in all it seems like they’ve stayed rather true to the story. I mean, in the beginning they wanted Bella to be a track star. Also, if you saw the last trailer, the tension between bella and edward’s kiss was spot on.

Vampires flying, though? I can’t get behind that.

  63. Belle Says:

I think Kristin Stewart fits Bella’s description. She was always described as incredibly fair and plain. But, no one else looks like I pictured them. Edward is hot, but that picture of him and who I assume is Charlie is so weird to me. I thought Edward blended in a *little* better than that. I do love Team Jacob! P.S. That picture of Princess Z is ADORABLE. They all are, but that little face is just too cute.

  64. Jessica Says:

I think everyonke looks great EXCEPT Jacob black, dont get wrong that actor is adorable but did we forget that Jacob is over 6 foot?? Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Its like Harry potter having green eyes and danny having blue. Its jus tlittle things liket hat that irritate!

  65. Jessica Says:

I dont know anyone else who culd play edward, rob has the face structure, the hair, the build, the crooked smile. It hink he is great

  66. Jessica Says:

Besides that, Stephanie Meyer hand picked Rob for Edward, need I say more!

  67. Erin Says:

I know that this movie won’t be exactly like the book but I’m still excited. I just can’t wait to see the whole story come to life, so what if its not exact, you will always have the real story to go back and read. I think the only characters I don’t think look anything like I imagined are the good doctor and rosalie, while she is very pretty, I envisioned someone more breathtaking

  68. R Says:

    Cam Gigandet <3

  69. Emily Says:

I always thought Edwards piano would be white? To match the rest of the house…
    Cannot wait for this movieee!

  70. Erika Says:

I’ve been keeping tabs on this movie since it was announced that it would be made. Not really happy at all with their casting choice but then again maybe I am a bit too picky and expect too much!

Looking forward to seeing this and hoping that it won’t suck too bad!

  71. Jessica Says:

I am a big Twilight fan, and I think it’s going to be great. Team Jacob could’ve been a little bit better though, definitely not how I imagined them, lol

  72. Sara Says:

Of course they don’t all look like I envisioned, but since I just finished the first book and am into the second, I saw the trailer before I got around to reading the books (even though I bought them months ago!) So my brain kind of meshed the people playing the movie in with what I thought while reading. Like with Harry Potter, I read those books before the movies ever came out, but now I have a blended picture of the charcters in the movie with what I imagined while reading. I am more interested to see how they play the characters they were casted for, and not just how they look in some screencaps. If their performances are great than it will outweigh any changes they made in appearance to get the right actor for the part. All in all, I am quite excited for this movie, especially since there isn’t much else to look forward to this winter movie-wise, so that will make it even better!

  73. Jenna Says:

I’m a HUGE twilight fan! I find all the characters to be different than what I envisioned in my head… I pictured Edward to be the hottest person in the whole world haha.. I think they have it dead on with the Quileutte’s tho! Emmitt is also not what I envisioned at all.. However with that being said I still cannot wait to see the movie!

  74. Ashley Says:

    Irregardless is NOT a word.

  75. Rachel Says:

I am a huge huge HUGE twilight fan! but at first i was not excited about the movie at all bc the characters were sooooo bad! I mean rosalie?!!! give me a break! if you guys watched The O.C. she was the girl who played Johnny’s cousin and Ryan’s girlfriend in season 3, and she is hispanic which means she has darker coloring and rosalie is supposed to basically be the most beautiful person ever and they bleached that poor girls hair and it looks orange and they put like special makeup on her skin to make it lighter! worst character choice EVER!!!!! sorry lol that has just really been annoying me! and i think they should have kept with the guy they originally had for edward and Camille Belle for Bella. but of course i will still go see the movie! lol

  76. Bex Says:

I am SO SO SO psyched!!! Both leads are PERFECT for their roles… great casting. Most importantly, if Stephenie Meyer approves, then we should approve.

I was (still am) a die-hard Harry Potter fan… It’s SO great to have another new book series obsession. :)

  77. Victoria Says:

I’m super excited to see this film. I’ve read the series numerous times. From the looks of it, not every shot will be as detail oriented as the book but I think that will be good in the end. I was disappointed at first to hear certain scenes from the book i.e. blood testing were taken out of the movie, but I have faith in Catherine and her crew. I cannot wait until Nov. 21.

  78. bluerose Says:

    Gah, Peter Facinelli is hot!

  79. Stacy Says:

i am so excited for this movie to premiere i can hardly stand it! the books are so incredibly addictive.. i could NOT put them down. i think that’s how most of us feel. i’m sure no one will be completely satisfied with the choices they made for the characters but i agree that we should wait and see how they portray them and then judge. a couple of pet peeves for me is alice not having the black hair (i mean how hard would it have been to get her a black wig instead of brown?) and jasper and jacob both being so short is just silly.. they are both portrayed as being tall large guys. the rest have all grown on me even though they wouldn’t have been my first choice… everyone has their “own” edward… don’t we? le sigh…….see you all Nov 21st!!! <3

  80. Teri Says:

It’s always difficult for Hollywood to keep up with readers’ imaginations, but I’m glad they are giving it a shot! I’m trying to not pick apart the details of the movie until I see the finished product, but I can’t help but cringe at Nikki Reed (playing Rosalie) with blonde hair. Ick.

On a side note to the comments above, irregardless is in fact a word, meaning the same thing as regardless.

  81. ser Says:

    EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKSSSSS!!!

  82. She Knows Says:

Honestly, I got really much too sucked into those books. I don’t think that those actors are going to properly portray the mental anguish of the characters. And I hope young readers out there realize that these books are fantasies and that one relationship shouldn’t “make or break” you. Emotional abuse is not sexy – vampire fantasy or not.

  83. Boo Says:

I think the movie looks ok. I don’t agree with anyone who was picked for the cast. Robert who plays Edward is so not what I was picturing, he is not a classic handsom like Edward was written to be. Never the less I will still go see the movie, I LOVE the books!!

  84. Angie Says:

    i love the pictures!!!!
Can’t wait to c the movie!!!

    23 daysss!!!!!

  85. Danielle Says:

The thing that bothers me is that she is wearing flats when in the book they make a great deal out of the fact she has an effed up leg and is wearing a stiletto for the other shoe (which i personally thought was ridic in the first place) and in the tralier they have some security guy being mauled…….does not happen in the book. other then that everything pretty much looks ligit. robert is gorgeous.

  86. Karlie Says:

do you really think they could get the cast the way EVERYONE imagined it to be? i think it looks perfect. in movies they have to eat up more time so of course they are going to put details into the movie that weren’t in the book. i think the details so far look like they are for the better. i personally cannot wait. i have my tickets, my apparel and i am ready to go this friday! =)
