A new international trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (which was supposed to be released in theaters this Fall but has been pushed back until Summer ‘09) has made its way to the Internets (the first one since the last trailer came out in July) … check it out:
Jesse McCartney is releasing a new fragrance called Wanted … but unlike the normal formula of male celebrities releasing male scents, Jesse is bucking the gender trend and is offering a floral scent for his female fans. If you’re young, fun and have ovaries, Jesse McCartney wants to make you smell better. Here is the first poster advertisement for Wanted:
Fragrance marketer First American Brands Inc. has signed 21-year-old actor and pop artist Jesse McCartney to a scent deal — and the singer’s first fragrance, a women’s scent called Wanted, is due to be launched in spring. “He’s a young artist, hitting the stage right now and making a name for himself,” said Randall A. Christian, general manager of First American Brands, who noted the deal was signed in early August … Executives at First American Brands predicted the fragrance would appeal to consumers ages 21 to 30 years old. The name of the scent can be interpreted in two ways, noted Christian, either in the sense of a goal in which to aspire — or wanted, as in the case of an outlaw. The scent is slated to be launched at department and specialty store doors in the U.S. in the February-March time frame. Christian said he anticipates the scent could reach 1,800 doors in the U.S. during its first year on the market. While he wouldn’t talk numbers, industry sources estimate the scent could generate first year retail sales of about $15 million … Fragrance supplier Drom blended the scent, a development process that involved McCartney picking the final formulation. The eau de parfum features top notes of bergamot and apple, a heart of jasmine and rose and base notes of cedarwood, amber and musk. It will be available in a 3.4-oz. version priced at $55 and a 1.7-oz. size for $45. A 1-oz. version, for $20, is also planned, as is a gift-with-purchase program featuring T-shirts and sleepwear. The bottle, which was designed in-house to resemble a drop of water — or the tear of a lovesick teen — is intended to have a sophisticated feel, according to Olesya Ianovitch, marketing director for First American Brands.
I think it’s pretty ambitious to count on $15 million dollars in sales the first year out but … aim high, I always say. There are many times that I just laugh at the thought of some celebs offering fragrances with their names on them … but Jesse Mac? Yeah … I can’t see it … and I really don’t want to smell it. Are any of y’all interested in smelling like a Jesse McCartney outlaw?

90210 star Shenae Grimes is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Saturday Night magazine. Heralded as the “new Brenda“, Shenae stands alone on a magazine cover of her very own … behold:
“We’re not in Kansas anymore.” A famous quote that serves not only as the pilot episode title of the
new series 90210 but also echoes the show’s overarching theme of the Wilson family’s move from Wichita to Beverly Hills and the coming-of-age life lessons experienced by the kids of West Beverly High School. She may not be from the Midwest but Canadian actress Shenae Grimes can certainly relate to the sentiment. After being cast as 90210’s central character Annie Wilson, Grimes has been strapped into the Hollywood rollercoaster of fickle fans, critics, parties, red carpets, press and paparazzi, a ride that would put a strain on any fresh-faced 18-year-old. On a day off from her grueling shooting schedule, Grimes joined us at the beautiful Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive (yes, it’s in 90210) to give us an insight into what it’s like to be on one of the most-talked about shows on television.
And so begins the career of a Hollywood “It” Girl. Much like Shannen Doherty before her, Shenae seems to have been plucked from obscurity (even tho both actresses were working on other shows before they hit it big on 90210) and the media seems keen on bestowing the tiara and sash of Brenda Walshness upon young Miss Grimes. Yesterday afternoon I made my way out to The Golden Apple comic book store on Melrose Ave. here in LA for an in-store appearance by Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia and comic artist Tim Sale for the launch of their new comic book series Rest. I was very happy to see that a few hundred folks also came out for the comic book release event. Here are a few pics from yesterday’s fun:

When I arrived, the line of folks who came out for the event stretched down the street and around the block, it was very cool. I was fortunate enough to get to hang out with Milo’s best friends Dino and Russ (some of you may know that they, along with Milo, are the founding members of the Divide Social Club) for the duration of the in-store appearance. I got to meet a few Pink readers and, after the event was finished, I also got to snap a pic with Milo himself. Okay … before anyone freaks out, I have to clarify that this week’s Hot Dude of the Week may be named Spencer but it’s not the Spencer you may be thinking of (y’all can breathe now). This week’s Hot Dude is a very beefy football type that appears to have an affinity for too-tight clothing … which I don’t mind in the least. Say hello to Spencer:
As the college football season rolls on (the OU Sooners secured another stunning win yesterday, this time against Kansas State), I thought it would be nice to check in with a big dude like Spencer here. I mean … wow … the guy looks like he’s got actual footballs stuffed inside his muscle-y arms. The lad may be fully dressed but I think he still has a bit of hawt appeal, yes? Enjoy!!

Miley Cyrus and her older 20-year old manfriend and underwear model Justin Gaston emerged from her SoCal abode yesterday (where “Friends” are “Always Welcome” according to the sign in front of the house) and made their way to LAX Airport to depart for destination: unknown. Never fret, dear readers who still find it terribly odd that a 15-year old girl is allowed by her parents to be “friendly” with a 20-year old man, Miley’s father Billy Ray Cyrus was along to chaperone the young’ns to the airport:
Earlier this week, it was reported that Miley — who has yet to actually turn 16 years old, BTW — is lookin’ to move out of her parent’s home and possibly into a place of her own … with Justin Gaston. Truth be told, I don’t believe this report at all. While her parents may be find with whatever the hell is going on with Justin, I cannot believe that they would allow her to live on her own at such a young age — with or without Justin. If if, for some insane reason, they were cool with their daughter living with anyone on her own, I cannot believe that it would happen if only for the way the young Disney star would look to the public. That’s not to say that Miley may not still buy a second home (to “hang out” in sometimes away from her parents) but I don’t see her actually moving out of her parent’s home … not yet. Clearly, traveling together is not off limits, tho. It’s unclear if Jiley actually jetted off together or if Justin merely accompanied her to the airport (he tends to get left at home to hang out with her family a lot) but … things in their relationship seem just as steadfast (and WEIRD!) as ever. Ain’t lurve grand?
