Yesterday I blogged that I have been fortunate enough to get an early look at this year’s Treehouse of Horror XIX Simpson’s Halloween Special that will air on FOX on Sunday November 2 at 8pm. I mentioned that the ep is NOT TO BE MISSED and I cited the very funny political vignette that opens the episode. Vicki B. is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Vogue India magazine this month. In what looks to be a photoshoot that was done back when she still had long hair, Vicki B. is all done up as an Indian bride on the mag’s coverphoto and in the accompanying photospread. Here is VB‘s Vogue India coverphoto:

Carrie Underwood is the latest celeb to have her likeness made into a wax statue for display at Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum … unfortch for Carrie, tho, her statue was not made by the London branch of Madam Tussaud’s (which is known for their expertly flawless recreations) and was instead made by the folks at the Las Vegas, NV branch of the museum … which may explain by Carrie‘s statue looks like it has Céline Dion‘s face … EW!

Carrie was a good sport to show up for the unveiling of her wax likeness but if I were her, I’d sue. Carrie Underwood looks far prettier than her waxen doppelgänger … especially in these pics.

For a few weeks now, we have seen messages popping up in advertising on posters, billboards and on websites (including right here on Pink is the new Blog) asking the question Who Is Sasha Fierce? Well, at long last, we finally have the answer. [Drum roll, please] It turns out that Sasha Fierce is none other than Beyoncé Knowles herself. Of course, anyone familiar with Beyoncé and her alter-ego nonsense knows that B has been, at times, calling herself Sasha for many months now … but at least now, we know her last name. Here are a couple pics of Beyoncé or Sasha Fierce (not sure which) making her way out of Cipriani restaurant in NYC with her husband Jay-Z last night:

The R&B singer has christened herself “Sasha Fierce” for her new double album, “I Am … Sasha Fierce,” due in stores on Nov. 18, and has released a lengthy justification for the comical moniker. “I have someone else that takes over when it’s time for me to work and when I’m on stage, this alter ego that I’ve created that kind of protects me and who I really am,” the former Destiny’s Child frontwoman said in a statement. “Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I’m working and when I’m on the stage.” Additionally, she has set up a cryptic MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/sashafierce) that gives a “lucky person” the opportunity to receive a personal message and a gift bag valued at $500.

So … lemme get this straight. Beyoncé created an alter-ego to draw attention away to “protect herself” and is now telling anyone who will listen (and offering a cash prize to anyone interested in giving a damn) that the alter-ego is actually her. Clearly, Beyoncé would make an horrrrrrible superhero cuz she just can’t keep a secret. As you may recall, Beyoncé released 2 music videos recently … and one of them features Ms. Sasha Fierce. Methinks Mrs. Jay-Z has got way too much time on her hands.

This isn’t someone that we’ve heard much of in recent months so your guesses may not be correct right off the bat. That said, once you find out who it is I don’t think many of y’all will be surprised in the least. After the jump, find out who owns this tragic footwear …

Last night my friend Tony dragged me out of the house kicking and screaming to catch the Robyn show at Spaceland in Silver Lake last night. Robyn is touring as part of the Club NME tour (that is sending acts all around the world) and performed a short set of songs … acoustically. By that I mean, just her and a tinny and horrible sounding keyboard. Tony and I met up with a bunch of his friends, including Art and Mark and we were joined by Darion and Josh who also came out for the show. All in all we had a fun time last night … here are a few pics of Robyn on stage doing her thang:

I must confess I’m not the biggest Robyn fan in the world but I kinda dig her new album’s electopop sound. Unfortch, we got none of that electropop sound last night since, as I mentioned, Robyn performed with just dude on keyboards. The keyboard didn’t sound all that great and the guy’s backing vocals were worse. Because of this, the show wasn’t the best one that I’ve ever been to but I will say that Robyn has a great voice and she managed to keep the show from being a total loss. She belted out her songs, much slower than normal, giving her fans a different take on her music. I wasn’t wowed but it wasn’t so terrible.

… unfortch for D, the dude already has a boyfriend. Ah well. Darion did have better luck later on in the night. We spied Amanda Bynes in the crowd …

… and he managed to get a photo with her (she also complimented him on his “beautiful eyes”). In the end, I’m really glad that Tony coaxed me into going out … as always, he is really fun to hang out with and I had a nice night out with my friends.

Not sure what’s on tap for today … I am still on the hunt for a Halloween costume … ideas?

The LA Times is eagerly counting down to the release date of the much-anticipated Twilight movie based on the book of the same name. Robert Pattinson stars as the beauteous vampire Edward in the film and is featured in a new LA Times article that is due for publication on November 2. To tease the article’s release, the Times have released a new photo of Mr. Pattinson with furry facial hair that was snapped earlier this month for the article’s accompanying photospread. Twilight fans might want to brace themselves for the bounteousness ahead … behold:

You’re welcome. I now welcome your thoughts on it. The facial hair, I think, is very un-Edward. (Could Bella’s marble prince even grow facial hair? It seems unlikely). But do we like it just the same? Does it make Robert sexier? More smoldering? Or just too Wolverine? Perhaps he’s sporting the new look in the name of Spunk Ransom’s next Whiskey A Go-Go gig.

I gotta say … I like the facial hair. It’s a nice look on him. While he may be lookin’ more Jacob than Edward in this pic, I think that Pattinson fans will take very kindly to this new photo … yes? What do y’all think of Robert‘s new look?

A few castmembers from the new CW series 90210 made their way out to the Kitson boutique in West Hollywood, CA last night for the red carpet launch of a new line of t-shirts that promote the show. Back in the early ’90′s, Beverly Hills, 90210 spawned a crush of merchandising options (from frisbees to dolls to perfume) and it looks like the new gang at West Beverly High are trying to get in on that action with a new line of stuff of their own. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals at last night’s in-store launch event at Kitson:

I don’t personally think that the new batch of 90210 stuff is gonna be as popular as their predecessor’s merchandise but I can’t blame them for striking while the iron is hot. I think they might want to come up with better shirt slogans than Lacrosse Players Do It Better but the Team Silver and Team Naomi shirts are cute, if not inventive. Miley Cyrus was an on-air guest this morning on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show on KIIS FM here in SoCal and, for the first time, went on the record about her relationship with hottie underwear model Justin Gaston. Altho, the 15-year old poplet tried to play it coy about any romantic relationship she might be enjoying with the 20-year old model, she did offer some telling comments about what the man means to her:

“Maybe, maybe not,” she said Thursday on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show when asked if they are dating. “Right now, everything is, like, really good. I haven’t really been answering the question much just because we’re just really happy with everything and the way everything has worked out.” She added, “He’s been a really great friend, more than anything.” Cyrus – who turns 16 on Nov. 23 – said she was miffed that “everyone started judging us as soon as we started hanging out.” “After my last two years, there’s been a lot of things that happened, so I’ve learned just not to judge anyone and go into our friendship with an open mind and not really worry about the age or anything,” she continued. “Our families are like, ‘Whatever happens, happens,’” she said. “If he’s nothing but a really good friend, that’s awesome. More than anything, he’s really helped me move on from a lot of things,” she told Seacrest. “He’s a really great Christian guy. He’s gone through stuff, and I’ve gone through stuff, and everyone goes through that. I think it’s really awesome that we have that in common — that we can talk about it and that we can understand [each other] … he gets it.” She then added: “I’m totally gushing right now!” She said her parents like him too, adding that the former Nashville Star contestant “works with my dad, so my dad thinks he’s cool.” Seacrest told Cyrus that Gaston is just too good looking. “That’s what would be hard about dating him!” she replied. “It’s like, if anything ever happened [a break-up], who you are gonna go to after that?”

While there may have been some “judging” going on as soon as Miley started “hanging out” with Justin, I think it was more of a matter of people being surprised that her parents would let a 15-year old girl “hang out” with a 20-year old man — in any capacity. In light of the big stink the Cyrus parents caused after the Vanity Fair debacle earlier this year, I, for one, was really surprised to see them be so nonchalant about the age disparity between their daughter and this older man. I’m not sure that the “whatever happens, happens” mentality is a very good one for families to implement when it comes to underage girls “hanging out” with adult men. But, that’s just my opinion … clearly these people must know what they are doing. I do give Miss Miley credit for being honest and talking somewhat openly about the situation.
