It has been previously revealed that Lindsay Lohan‘s new album, Spirit in the Dark, will be released on November 4 (Election Day here in the US) and now we get our first look at the album artwork for said release:

As far as L. Lo album artwork goes, I personally like this coverphoto better than the ones we got for her first two albums Speak and A Little More Personal (RAW). Granted, that’s not saying much because I really didn’t care for the album artwork on those previous albums. That being said, and I say this with all seriousness, I am deffo a fan of Lindsay‘s music. While some may discount her attempt at a music career as a vapid waste of time, I contend that Lindsay has actually recorded some very fun music. Of course her musical skills are not remarkable but they don’t need to be in order to make a great pop record. If you mixed in some Lindsay Lohan in any party mix, not only will people on the dancefloor enjoy themselves but they may also ask Who sings that great song? OK, that scenario depends on what kind of party you’re hosting but you see my point. I, for one, am looking forward to the release of Spirit in the Dark. One can never have too many superfluously fun pop albums on one’s iPod.

Additionally, it is being reported that the first single from this new album, Playground, will debut on the radio later this week and will be available for sale next Tuesday (pushed back from an original radio debut date of September 30 and a sale date of October 7):

Music Trauma Magazine reported Thursday October 16th that KIIS FM will air Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Playground’ single on October 25, 2008, followed by a release on iTunes on Tuesday, October 28, followed by the album, ‘Spirit In The Dark’ hitting shelves the following Tuesday.

Hee hee … like it or not, L. Lo the popstar is comin’ back atcha. Woot! I can’t wait :)

Mary-Kate Olsen, who just loves gaining the attention of the paparazzi, was inadvertently involved in a little fender bender on the streets of LA yesterday afternoon. Altho, thankfully, no one involved in the accident was injured, Mary-Kate was unable to hide from the ever-watchful paps who were immediately on hand to record her embarrassing run-in (as it were) with an El Pollo Loco employee’s car:

Actress Mary-Kate Olsen was involved in a minor car accident on Monday while out shopping with a female friend in Los Angeles. The former child star was leaving the Open Door furniture store when her unnamed pal accidentally reversed her Toyota Prius car into the back of another vehicle. The woman exchanged details with the other driver, an employee of the nearby El Pollo Loco store, while Olsen waited in the front passenger seat. No one was hurt in the incident.

Clearly, MK was not really interested in smiling for the cameras … which just so happened to video THE ENTIRE INCIDENT. After the jump, watch video of MK‘s embarrassing fender bender (it’s kinda worth watching just to hear the paps MOO at poor Mary-Kate Olsen) …

Over the past couple of weekends, we’ve seen photos of Britney Spears making a concerted effort to break-away from work commitments in order to take the time to pick up her children Sean Preston and Jayden James from preschool. We have usually witnessed this occurrence take place on Friday afternoons, heading into the weekend. But yesterday, Britney was on hand to pick up her oldest son, SP, from preschool … clearly showing a renewed commitment to taking care of her children — a right that was almost entirely taken away from her when she wasn’t doing so well. Here are cute pics of Brit at Sean P‘s school yesterday afternoon:

Even tho it was very sad at the time, I could absolutely understand the court’s decision to strip away some of Britney‘s custodial rights to her children because, let’s face it, she was at times unable to even care for herself. While I know it prolly killed her inside (as it would any mother), I think losing full physical custody of her children went a long way into helping her focus on her own recovery. Britney had been getting much better since she was forcibly admitted into the hospital at the start of this year but it wasn’t until custodial rights were taken from her that I noticed a serious concentration on her part to truly get better. I contend that she was really focused on a full recovery mainly to win back custody of her sons. Britney Spears will still draw scorn and attack from naysayers (no matter what she does) but, again, I think it’s worth noting how much better she appears to be doing. It remains to be seen if she will eventually win back full custody rights from Kevin Federline (my guess is she won’t rest until she does) but it seems clear to me that she is on the right path to proving she is worthy of taking care of her children again. For me, that will be the true measure of a successful comeback.

Nick Hogan (née Nick Boella), son of famed wrestler Hulk Hogan who was sentenced to 8 months of incarceration (including 5 years probation, 500 hours of community service and 3 years driver’s license revocation) last May after pleading “no contest” to the felony charge of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury (stemming from a car accident that occurred in 2007 that left his friend John Graziano in a vegetative state), was released early this morning after serving only 166 days of his sentence on account of good behavior. Nick‘s older, more famous, sister Brooke Hogan (also née Boella) was on hand at the Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater, FL to collect her little jailbird bro. Here are a few photos of Nick walking free from the jail in the wee hours this morning:

Six months after going to jail following his no-contest plea on a reckless driving charge, Nick Bollea (a.k.a. Nick Hogan), son of Hulk Hogan, was released from jail early Tuesday morning (October 21). According to the Tampa Tribune, the 18-year-old Bollea raced into the arms of his sister, Brooke Hogan, upon his release from Pinellas County Jail, where he served 166 days of an eight-month sentence in connection with an August 2007 street racing crash that severely injured Bollea’s friend, John Graziano. Bollea, who was released early for good behavior, walked out of Pinellas County Jail at 12:30 a.m. and did not speak to photographers before getting into a sport utility vehicle and heading home. His mother, Linda Bollea, released a statement Tuesday morning asking the media to respect the family’s privacy.

“This is our time as a family to come together to support Nick’s adjustment back into the public life, keeping it as normal as possible,” she said. “Neither Nick, nor we as a family, has any interest in making this anything but private. We respect the media’s role and only ask that they respect our privacy. Nick went into prison as a juvenile and has experienced something that will mold and affect him for the rest of his adult life. His focus is to make a positive difference in this world, media-free. Since his future actions will speak louder than any words, there is no need to speak to the media at this time.”

Bollea, a veteran of his father’s “Hogan Knows Best” show on VH1, had said in jail that he wanted to star in his own reality show after release, an idea Graziano’s lawyer, George Tragos, felt was exploitative. “It’s awful Nick is going to get a reality show because he went to jail because of the permanent harm he caused another human being,” Tragos said, according to the Tribune.

Brooke Hogan not only was there to collect her just-sprung brother from jail but she also seems to have gotten a new tattoo in honor of her brother Nick‘s new lease on life:

I think it shows a real strength of character and the true bonds of committed support for an older sister to get a Redemption “stripper plate” or “tramp stamp” tattoo for one’s younger brother who was just released from jail for almost killing a person. Even if her tattoo has nothing at all to do with her brother — kudos, still, for having the foresight to get such an apropos tattoo in the first place. I gotta say, I’m actually surprised that Nick ended up serving 6 of his 8 month sentence. While I honestly believe he should be locked up for much more time, I’m impressed that he was forced to serve so much of his sentence (rather than getting out after a month like his family tried to pull off earlier this year). It remains to be seen if Nick will actually stay out of the media spotlight (those reality TV camera lights can be very inviting) but I sincerely hope that he manages to stay out of trubs. I also am still hoping for a full recovery by John Graziano, who has been sentenced to a punishment far worse than incarceration and for a much longer period of time.
