Watch Rihanna Perform ‘Vogue’ On ‘Fashion Rocks’
Last Saturday I posted a few pics of Rihanna’s performance at the 5th annual Fashion Rocks event at Radio City Music Hall in NYC (that was filmed live on Friday night). Fashion Rocks aired on CBS last night and today we get to watch her performance online:
Love it! Love it! I had heard that Ri Ri killed this performance and I’m happy to see that those reports are absolutely true. Don’t get me wrong, no one can really top Madonna but I think that Rihanna did an amazing homage performance of the song. What do y’all think?

It was good. However, I saw her sing live at a holiday show/benefit 2 years ago, and she was absolutely horrrrrrible. Hence the lip-synching, most likely. I can’t trust her singing anymore, I always remember that train-wreck performance.

It was a great performance. So fun and classy and sexy. She did Madonna proud.

I start to feel a bit tired of Rihanna…she thinks she’s a diva, but she got a long way to be that. And she’s 21! start to drees like a girl, no like a 30 years old woman!!

I get goosebumps every time I hear that song. No lie!
And how happy did those dancers look getting to bust out the old Vogue moves?
I want to go dancing in Boystown so bad right now!

Rihanna did great, but the choreography was really boring! Super boring.
Her voice is great with the song.

Talk about going through the motions! This girl is SUCH a soulless ‘performer’. Where’s the oomph? Where’s the spice? She brings nothing to the stage or the world of music apart from a pretty face. I’m yet to be impressed by anything she puts out there.
She’s so obviously miming this performance, as she really can’t sing for shit. Saying that, I do like this version of Vogue, but it doesn’t beat the original.

It was a good performance yes, but she didnt sing at all. The whole thing was lip singing… We all know she can not sing that great.

I think it was very flat and she is incredibly OVEREXPOSED already. Take a long break, girl.

i couldnt help but think beyonce would have killed this.
it looked kind of awkward at times, like when she was being carried.
but at least they didnt get someone as obvious as britney to sing this.

I agree that it was obvious that she was lip-syncing and she did not really look like she was performing. The choreography was boring and she seemed bored with it as well. I thought the set was cool though with the big feathers and the runway models.

I can’t say I’m a Rhianna fan. I find her voice to be harsh (but I do like Disturbia). However, she sounded really great on this song. Maybe the track was really processed, I don’t know, but I liked it. I remember when this song came out I felt like it was one of Madonna’s best and it would stand the test of time. I think it has.

Rihanna always kills it – she is a great performer and singer and an absolute beauty!! Her, Beyonce, or Christina could all have done this song proud – it would’ve been awesome to have all 3 perform. Rihanna’s costume was really pretty and I think because this was a fashion show, the choreography was there but not as elaborate as if it was a MTV or Grammy performance..I think it was less about dancing and more about runway posing of her body and arms for this type of event..so obv there is some dancing but more graceful posing also as well as pretty aesthetics like the big feathers. They could’ve done a more grand ending when the song ended though, but that’s on the choreogrpaher, not Rihanna. I think she is one cool chick and her and Chris Brown are such a cute yet true power couple! Well mini power couple. I think the biggest music power couple at the moment is Jay Z and Beyonce.

It was a nice cover. I don’t like Rihanna, but the version is good. I agree with Evelyn when she says Evelyn Says
“Talk about going through the motions! This girl is SUCH a soulless ‘performer’. Where’s the oomph? Where’s the spice?”
I agree with the idea that Rihanna is a Soulless performer. I watched her at the Brit Awards and I didn’t liked it AT ALL. Thank God Kylie beated her. By the way, this performance with feathers and all remembered me: Madonna’s Girlie Show performance and Kylie’s Showgirl: Homecoming Tour.

she cant sing live, face it,just another girl who we will all forget in another 5 years,
she didnt dance much reminds me shes always like this, clap clap hands.thats all.
but her songs are excellent! this is whats strong about her!and she sounds great in her songs!
just put out as much singles as possible while u still can ,honey

I really like Rihanna- but no way would I say that her rendition of Vogue was as good or near as good as Madonna. Madonna doesn’t just sing that song she owns that song, and performs it. no one can compare!!. Not fair to Rihanna.
Not to slight her I have to admit that Rihanna’s performances at the VMA were awesome!
Did anyone hear Savage Garden’s remake of Dress you up? It’s killer!!!

wow, that was so bad. she aint even hitting the notes and her voice is so thin and reedy. poor.
