Tina Fey Kills As Sarah Palin On ‘SNL’ Once Again
Down pat

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler opened last night’s ep of Saturday Night Live again as they did a couple of weekends ago (where Fey played Sarah Palin and Poehler played Hillary Clinton). This time, tho, Tina played Palin to Poehler‘s Katie Couric (in a skit that mocked Couric‘s multipart interview with Palin which took place earlier in the week). Here for your viewing enjoyment is last night’s hilarious opening skit in full:

LOLOLOL. Not only was this skit insanely funny (and Fey‘s portrayal of Palin perfect in every way) but is scarily similar to the actual interview between Couric and Palin. Those of you who were able to watch the actual interview on the CBS Evening News know that Tina Fey managed to duplicate Palin’s confused and semi-meaningless answers. I mean, it’s funny but … really still very scary. In any event, I just love it when Tina Fey and Amy Poehler do skits together … they make SNL totally worth watching again :)

I just finished watching the actual interview online, then watched the skit, and yes, she killed it! Especially the “under the umbrella of job creation, health care reform, blah blah blah”. Wow. It was hilarious! I just don’t know which one was funnier to watch, the actual interview or the skit.

Laughed my ass off last nite…is anyone else looking foward to the VP Debate on thurs besides me?

  3. Jessica says:

This is funny. I love Tina and Amy.

But honestly can we start over? I don’t like any of the candidates for president or vice president.None of them are going to do what they say…blech.

  4. Kim says:

i didn’t see this! thanks for posting! this was absolutely hilarious. i saw the actual interview and this was dead-on. and i cannot wait for the VP debate on thurs. it’s going to be awesome and i hope hope hope tina fey will be back on snl next weekend because it’ll be prime material.

  5. Laynie says:

i hope biden rips palin a new one

  6. Marjorie says:

Confused and semi-meaningness answers? Are you sure you’re not talking about Obama at the presidential debate?

  7. No, I’m absolutely certain that I’m talking about Sarah Palin and her inability to even get thru a simple TV interview without falling over her own words. Good luck trying to defend her performance this week … it’s absolutely horrifying that people STILL believe she is qualified to be VP of the US.

  8. frogponder says:

I never thought we’d be doing this – but we’re having a viewing party (for a debate!) complete with popcorn to toss at the tv (the dogs will love this…)

  9. Faith says:

I love Joe Biden, I just got home from seeing him, Jill, Barack and Michelle in Detroit. They’re my heroes.

  10. That Girl says:

Brills! Dead on! I hope Palin crawls back to Russia…I mean, Alaska!. You know how close they are…sharing air space and water and all that. I don’t know how she keeps the two places straight.

  11. Kathleen says:

Cannot wait for the Palin/Biden debate–LOL! GO JOE!!

  12. Paz says:

I didn’t think this was as superb as the first Palin-Hilary sketch, but Fey’s answers mirrored Palin’s exactly. My dad saw the real Couric-Palin clip, and he said it reminded him of the nonsensical answer that Miss Louisiana or wherever she was gave at Miss America paegant last year. (about world maps, Iraq, China…????)
Unless they can get Tina Fey to keep coming back as Sarah Palin, SNL has shot itself in the foot because NO ONE can top her impression.
Good Lord, I will be deeply scared for the fate of this country if McCain-Palin get elected.

  13. Taylor says:

@ Jessica: I agree. It’s scary how optimistic people are that any of these fools can fix what’s going on. Get ready for a tough four more years b/c no matter who is elected we’re in for it until we actually get some candidates with substance. Oh, wait… no politicians have any substance!

  14. Chivonne says:

SNL is sooooo boring! Tina Fey is so amazing she completely makes it worth it. She should be on every week. I’d watch if she was.

I don’t like Obama. I think he’s scary. How come he still likes the Muslims and won’t wear anything American. Like the flag……………….. No matter what Palin and McCain say you won’t like it because you don’t like them. Obviously but whatever. at this point we have no hope no matter who is in charge.

Can’t we just keep Bush? We’re used to him, lol

  15. lolumad says:

So I guess you didnt notice that at Fridays debate Obama was wearing an American pin and McCain wasnt.

  16. amy says:

yeah Chivonne, what would happen to the USA if a guy who liked MUSLIMS got power of the country? Gosh, imagine the catastrophe? Nevermind what his ideas and strategies are for Afghanistan and Pakistan, but I’m sure you know what he thinks about foreign policy issues. It’s not like you dislike everything he says because you don’t like him, right?

Anyways, I love Tina Fey. I’ve never seen her in a role that didn’t make me laugh.

  17. Joi says:

Yeah, she sure stumbled over her words a lot; but I’m still waiting for some clear, consistent answers from Obama. It looks like Obama and Palin aren’t ready for the whitehouse. Maybe McCain should team up with Biden…lol

  18. julie says:

Joi, I tend to agree! But at least the GOP has the sense to put their training-wheels candidate in the training-wheels position…

  19. pw says:

this sketch was absolute gold. the sad thing is that they really didn’t change much from the original interview.

i’d also have to respectfully disagree — the vice presidency is not a ‘training wheels position.’ as much as mccain can say that he’s in excellent health and feeling great, that still doesn’t change that he did survive cancer and will be the oldest candidate to ever become president without having served the term before. if he becomes president and if, goodness forbid, anything happens to him healthwise, then palin becomes our president which is an absolutely frightening prospect.

  20. pk says:

hey trent i noticed you didn’t cover the presidential debate in your blog… are you staying away from that? (i thought it was good)

chivonne: obama is not scary, probably just different from what you are used to. by the way muslims and terrorists are not the same thing, thought you might want to know. if you want to see something scary read what PW wrote in their last sentence. this is what scares the pants off me too.
