The Wet Look Isn’t A Good One For Madonna

Get the woman a towel, please
September 27th, 2008

So … you know how I have that theory about how everyone looks better/hotter/sexier when they are wet? Yeah, it turns out that my theory does not hold true in absolutely every case. Here are photos of a very wet-looking Madonna and she looks anything but better/hotter/sexier:

Despite the hours in the gym, rumours of plastic surgery, and strict macrobiotic diet, it seems Madonna is as susceptible to the effects of ageing as anyone else. Leaving her hotel in Paris yesterday the 50-year-old looked gaunt faced and tired, hiding behind the large frames of her black Chanel glasses. With her wet hair clinging lifelessly to her head Madonna was certainly looking her age. Her black outfit and fake fur shaggy cardigan only accentuated the similarities. Of course it is only to be expected if Madonna is feeling a little tired. She has been at the forefront of the music industry for 25 years, and is in the middle of a punishing 50-date world tour. The Material Girl is also well-known for enduring two-hour gym sessions, six days a week at her private £6 million personal gym. And of top of her career and work-out schedule she is also a doting mother of three.

Oh yeah, I think I need to get a new theory. Yipes!!

i still think she looks good for 50…………

  2. Wendell Says:

let’s all get our picture taken at a terrible time/angle and post it on the internet. She looks great for any age and a legend to boot!

  3. Jesse Says:

not bad looking for someone who is 50….

  4. Duckie Says:

I think the worst part about this picture is not her hair… It’s her COAT! Wtf is that thing she’s wearing??? :/

  5. lolumad Says:

yeah she looks great for her age but damn girl is lookin a hot mess in these pics…say it with me ppl MAKEUP IS OUR FRIEND

  6. pooneck Says:

no wonder stars never (or should never leave) the house without make-up and hair. how scary they look without it.

  7. Poppy Says:

America needs to get real!! Why does everybody have to be young to look good? We all will get there someday. Lightened the f— up!!

  8. lolumad Says:

I dont think everyone has to be young to look good…but I do believe in the power of makeup

  9. ThatGirlSarah Says:

Her coat looks like one of those gorilla costumes. Meh.

  10. Cinner Says:

    Maybe she’s hung over.

  11. Danielle Says:

Granted these aren’t her best pics, but they’re not so gruesome as to actually make the effort of saying they’re bad pics.
Anyhow, it’s known she looks good for her age, but I think she looks good for any age and I wish people would stop treating the fact that she’s 50 as though it means she should be knitting sweaters.

  12. debho Says:

I haven’t left the house without makeup since I was 15 years old. (vain much? lol) I definately don’t now that I’m getting closer to 50. And would never dream of swanning around with wet hair! I guess she’s very comfortable with having her photo taken au naturelle. Brave woman, or stupid.

  13. patches Says:

news flash, every celebrity young and old looks like worse for wear without their makeup and “magic team” to fix them up all perfect, for a woman that is 50 and i think Madonna looks damn fine even when she’s not “dolled” up. this is just typical media acting childish and trying to put down Madonna because nobody likes to read a story about good things about a person. put any 50 year old woman in her shoes and see how many hours they can live in Madonna’s shoes..And the reason Madonna goes out in public like that is because she really doesn’t give a fuck of what people think about her, she’s in total control of who she is and confident enough to not have to hide behind a “mask” like some celebrities do. i give her props…

  14. lolumad Says:

sigh…I wish that I could have a “magic team”

  15. Katie Says:

Aw, c’mon, I know she’s a celeb and fair game, and I also know that some people like taking Madonna down a perceived notch, but it is mean. The girl is just going about, working, not causing any crazy, yet people still like to talk crap- a lot. It gets tired- speaking of which, I’m sure M is pretty tired with from her grueling work schedule, and no one looks their best when they’re tired. Let’s lay off.

  16. Angie Says:

She was just done from working out. Let’s see your ass when it’s done working out, you probably look like shit

  17. Delia Says:

I don’t know why I have an opinion on this but apparently I’ve given it thought… I think Trent’s theory is true about looking hot wet but it needs the additional theory of barely anyone can look good with wet hair that is combed flat/parted.

  18. Lisa Says:

By the power of GraySkull! It’s Skeletor!

  19. Susan Says:

Trent why are you acting like Perez lately?
I thought you were better than this :(

  20. sarahliciousisdelicious Says:

i’m on the fence with this one. Come on Trent, I thought you loved the ol’ madge here…Don’t you think its kinda mean of you to make fun of her? .We all know that the woman right there, in that picture isn’t “Madonna” That woman right there is real. She is a mother of 3 kids. She is 50 years old. Isn’t she also on a 50 date tour or some business?

Its not a very flattering pic thats for sure. honestly, i’m no fashion police, but yeah. what is up with that coat?

  21. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

I don’t think I’m “acting” like anyone by making a joke … remember jokes, I’ve kinda been making them about celebs for about 4 years now?

  22. Angemecanique Says:

But that one wasn’t called for, and didn’t even sound like a joke.
I thought you knew better than to act like a random bitter gossiper (the very reason why I’ve been checking your blog for two years)
    Lighten up, Trent!! ^^

  23. debho Says:

I love your wit Trent! And if we can’t be a little bitchy here, then where the hell can we?
Keep up the great work mate.

  24. chloe Says:

she looks like she’s all dressed up to star in a horror movie.but of course, without the coat and hair like that, she’s pretty fine for a person who’s 50

  25. Nicola Says:

My mum looks better than her at 52. She’s just as talented as Madonna is too. I.e she can sing decently around the house.

  26. free Says:

I don’t think she looks fifty. And that ‘fake fur’ is Mongolian lamb and anything but fake.

  27. julie Says:

It’s okay for a 50-year-old woman to look 50. It’s just not okay for that woman to also prance around giving concerts in teeny, slutty, juvenile outfits, trying to act like she’s still 22. The contrast between reality, and her desperate stage persona, is what makes these picturses so disturbing.

  28. Joanne Says:

I think it’s refreshing that she doesn’t feel the need to be all made up before she steps out of the house.

  29. Brandy Says:

    Gollum anyone?

I guess the problem is she just had quite a bit of plastic surgery on her face and well, she still looks like that. Sadly, all that working out takes most-if not all- the natural fat from her and makes her look a bit stringy. And really, like many people have said, she can get away with it – she’s effing Madonna.

  30. daniel Says:

Let’s all collate the bad pic’s of you Trent(there’s enough of them) and leave our comments…..
