The Tip Of The Iceberg … Er, Glacier
First off, I have to say, I am tired as hell, y’all! I’m about 5 mins. from collapsing from exhaustion, like, seriously. That said, today was mos def one of the coolest days of my life … absolutely the most adventurous and quite possibly made this trip to Iceland my fave vacation ever. I shant go into great detail of our 10 hour Golden Circle and Glacier Tour but I will hit the highlights and share some photos. We basically spent the day roaming all over the Golden Circle area of Iceland in a kickass SuperJeep driven by our tour guide Ingi. Funny and knowledgeable, Ingi made sure that we had the best day possible … and we did. We visited the hilly, mossy grassland, then the geisers, then the Gullfoss Waterfall and then got to spend an hour driving snowmobiles on top of the Langjokull Glacier … words cannot express the wonders we saw today but here are a few pics that may give you some idea:

People, heed my advice … if you ever come to Iceland (and I HIGHLY suggest that you do come to this beautiful land sometime in your lifetime), you must bypass all the bus tours and tour the country by SuperJeep. It was kinda like the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland but in real life (those of you familiar with that ride will know what I’m talking about, those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about … just take my word for it, it’s fun as HELL). This Nature Explorer tour was recommended to us by Darion’s friends Julie and Vince and I wholeheartedly endorse them myself. I do not do nature, I do not like to be outside but I had the time of my life today … in the rain, in the snow, in the driving freezing hail … I was in heaven. The beauty of this country is just undescribable — you simply have to see it for yourself.
Man, I am so beat tho … we had a long day. I can’t wait to see more … tomorrow, David and I are going on a horse riding tour for a few hours in the morning so … I have to rest up. Again, tho, let me stress … I absolutely love it here. Nature’s violent and dynamic beauty at its best … I thank the gods above that I have been given this opportunity to visit Iceland. Y’all gotta get here, I promise … you’ll love it as much as I do :)

Trent, You Must must must go visit the Blue Lagoon while you’re in Iceland! It’s one of the most breathtaking things I’ve even seen or experienced. The water is stunningly blue, the temperature is warm and the water is so good for you skin!
You should definitely try to get there if you can
Also, loved seeing your pictures, esp. Gullfoss Waterfall- when i was there it was winter so the whole area was covered in copious amounts of snow! Looks very different in your photos!

I’m so glad you guys are enjoying your trip :) Have a good night sleep because you’ll be tired after that horse back riding tomorrow :)
I agree that you have to go to the blue lagoon.
Looking forward to see more pics of your iceland adventure

That looks like an AWESOME trip, and I’m sure the photos don’t do it justice. But I KNOW David is not drinking an ice cold Pepsi after playing around on that glacier, right? I’m sure there’s some nice hot chocolate in that cup.
I’m happy for you that you get to take such wonderful trips. You’re going to have so many stories to tell for the rest of your lives!

I would’ve never considered visting Iceland because I’m sooo not a fan of being in frozen slushy water (I’m a SoCal girl!) but after seeing and hearing about your trip, I’m adding it to my list. Thanks for sharing your AMAZING vacation with us. Can’t wait to see more pics.
The more I see pics of you with the blonde hair, the more I’m digging it.

I’ve been a fan of your blog for a long time, but have never posted, but now feel I MUST!
If you get the chance, go to the SeaBaron fish shop for some lobster soup. It’s a favourite of the locals – right by the harbour -and the best (and cheapest!) meal I had while I was there!

I bet there was Coke in that Pepsi cup David had…
I’m dying of envy. It sounds like you guys had a great time, but I’m telling you: the Glacial Lagoon is one of my favorite places in all of Iceland and you get to drive right past a few of my runner-up favorite waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skogarfoss.

Any climate requiring a heavy coat in September (or any month for that matter) is too cold for me. I’ll just continue to enjoy the trip vicariously through you.
Blondes DO have more fun!

Meh…the 4X4’s and snowmobiles look like growing up in Michigan. Now those “hot springs” looking things in the green grassy areas look interesting! What is it?

Looks like fun! I hope you are enjoying yourselves!

As great as my short trip to Iceland was a couple of years ago, nothing can compare to visiting New Zealand. It’s worth the time and money. Most beautiful place on Earth. Plan that trip soon.
