‘The Hills’: In The Dumps
Welp … it looks like Lauren LC Conrad’s curse with the mens continues as another one of her romantic interests got thrown to the curb in last night’s new ep of The Hills:

Last night’s ep was partially about LC breaking off her very brief romance with new castmember Doug Reinhardt but it was also partially about laying some groundwork for Whitney Port’s new spin-off TV series which is to be set in NYC when it eventually debuts … oh yeah, there was also some partial hawt half-nudity in last night’s ep, which was a nice addition cuz, honestly, it was the only thing that kept me awake long enough to watch the entire show. After the jump, find out out all the deets (and take another look at the insanely hawt male model that flashed on the screen for about 10 secs.) from last night’s ep titled Better Off As Friends …
I hate to admit it but last night’s ep of The Hills was a total snoozefest … if it hadn’t been for that brief flash of mancandy partway thru the ep, I don’t know that I would’ve been able to stay conscious long enough to even care to finish the ep. Usually when someone gets dumped on national television, you’d think there’d be something of interest to check out … when you’re dumping someone as boring as Doug Reinhardt, tho, it turns out there ain’t really anything of substance to care about:

So yeah … Doug’s time as LC’s boyfriend is over and done with already. I mean, the guy is handsome but about as interesting as a potted plant. He never really did get the hang of that “natural” banter that castmembers of The Hills need to make the whole thing work … that said, tho, he’s deffo not going anywhere on the show. We know from previews that he goes on at least one date with Stephanie She-Spencer Pratt and then enters into a pretty serious Bromance with Brody Jenner. There will be Doug. Whitney’s storyline seemed to lay some pretty serious groundwork for her new spin-off show … I think we’re supposed to be all excited about her movie to New York City. I dunno … I feel like diluting The Hills in this way will weaken the brand. Last night’s ep wasn’t all that interesting, to be quite honest. LC spent her time complaining about Doug and then she dumped him in the most boring way ever. Whitney spent her time chatting up a guy who really didn’t seem all that interesting and wasn’t even the hottest male model we saw on the show (that title goes to Mr. Abs who looked so smokin’ hot that I had to rewind and watch his tiny portion on the show a few times before I could go on). It really felt like the producers just interjected the Heidi and Spencer bits just to remind us that they’re on the show. I don’t know that it was all that necessary to watch Spencer glance at his Rolly bling to let us know it was “cuddle time” for him and Heidi. Mebbe I was tired, mebbe I wasn’t in the mood but I didn’t really care for last night’s ep. We do know that a special new ep of The Hills will air ahead of the 2008 MTV VMAs this Sunday night and it promises to be filled with all the fun stuff that makes the show interesting … drama, Las Vegas, Brody in jail! Bring it on, I say! I just wasn’t feeling it last night … did any of y’all?

Agreed. It was so boring! Although I’d like to think the model was somewhat interested in Whitney, maybe it’s just me. So is this Whitney spin-off a go for sure?

PS: anyone else notice how there was absolutely NO LO and NO AUDRINA in this ep at all? it was all LC, Stephanie, and Doug and Whitney… thats it. nothing else… oh and Whitneys boss looked more human this ep..

I always love reading your posts about The Hills. I totally agree with you on this one. But this show is getting so unbelievable (the dialogue seems more contrived than usual) that it’s really hard to continue watching.

I agree on the Spencer line. It was the best line of the night.

Brody and Lauren at dinner was quite a hoot. Especially Brody and the “us naked” line.
“Friends with benefits” seems to be working good for him. Poor Lauren needs to get over it already or just take it for what it is.

so i thought it was pretty HIGHlarious, when stephanie said that her hampster turned into a guine pig… i expect to see this on The Soup this Fri hahaha…. but yea the episode went by realllllly quick.. and it was very Whitney heavy (not a good thing) I dont know how they think she can carry her own spinoff… shes s Supporting character….. not a leading lady.
I missed my lo and audrina bickering as well…

I thought it was pretty boring of an episode myself. And can someone please explain to me the attraction that Heidi has towards Spencer? If anyone – let alone my BOYFRIEND – talked to me like he did and then had the cajones to say – it’s cuddle time – I’d have to throw a drink in his face and maybe even stab him in the knee with a fork and walk out!! What a bag of douche he is!!!! Seriously, even if the guy is hung like a horse and can rock her world in bed, his personality totally trumps that so what the hell gives??????

i thought it was HILARIOUS when stephanie said that about the hamster –> guinea pig. they flashed back to one of her blank faces to make it look like a dumb blonde thing, but i think all she was saying was that her hamster got fat because lauren had said that “hamsters are like this (small hands) and guinea pigs are like this (big hands)”. i was in hysterics over it. i think they should let stephanie be as funny as she seems to be rather than making her another dumb character.

I agree with the episode feeling short. I watched more commercials than I did actual Hills episode.

Im thinking they dont want to spread out all the good stuff and they are saving it all for an explosive drama filled ep
CANT WAIT

um the funniest to me was Spencer saying how he felt like he hasnt been alone wiht Heidi in years…ummm they never see ANYBODY else! hahaha they are always alone

Last night a few girlfriends and I were out and about, and we spotted Doug at the bar, Melrose. He actually hit on a friend of mine and kept asking to take her to Cowboys. I’m in Canada by the way. Calgary, Alberta specifically.

i love stephanie. she’s pretty much my favourite girl on the show.
very interesting that lauren dumped doug, he seemed like a good guy. she always dumps the nice ones and isnt interested in them, but she chases after the guys who treat her like crap.

Of course the show is getting so fake…..LC is getting 75,000 an episode….not to mention the 65,000 that spencer and heidi get together. Scripted much……
