‘Sex And The City’ The Movie Premieres On DVD
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and others (except for Kristin Davis) were all on hand at the New York Public Library for the Sex and the City: The Movie DVD Launch Party here in NYC last night. Here are a few pics from the event’s pink carpet arrivals:
It’s curious that Kristin Davis would skip out on an event like this … she happily signed on to make the promo rounds for the SaTC Movie release in May and even hosted, with only director Michael Patrick King, the “LA Premiere” of the movie (which I was lucky enough to attend). Could there be behind the scenes turmoil running amok amongst the SaTC ladies again? Generally, I’m a fan of SJP’s red carpet looks (I didn’t even mind that ridiculous hat she wore to the UK premiere of the SaTC Movie) but I’m not a fan of the obvs Audrey Hepburn rip-off. I’m actually surprised she didn’t walk around with a really long cigarette holder to go with the outfit … originality, please.

I think this is the FIRST time I’ve ever thought SJP looked at all pretty. Most of time she looks like she’s raided a charity clothing box while being blind folded.

I thought the animosity was between SJP and Kim Cattrrall, not Kristin Davis? She seems the warmest and most congenial of the women.

Okay, I finally saw this movie and damn it is long. I think way to long. There is obvious friction between SJP and Kim on screen and off. There isn’t that dynamic they once possesed during their run on HBO. The movie was okay but the length and the lack of charisma between the two main characters really made the movie fall flat for me.

I’m a very casual SatC fan, and am looking forward to seeing the film for the first time, on DVD. And I am COMPLETELY jazzed that the party was at the NYPL!!!!

The whole night was amazing!! So posh and so sexy!! They were giving out little cosmo cupcakes, it was too cute! Plus I got my copy of the DVD :)

SJP scares me to be honest. I don’t think she’s pretty :(
However I did really enjoy the film. It was funny, and emotional… and had just the right amount of naked man :P

i agree with trent. i’m a big sjp fan and i think she looks awful here. she’s trying too hard. and what’s with everyone cutting bangs? i think they look terrible on her and jessica biel.

I’ve been a true fan since the beginning of SATC…and while I liked the movie, it really left so much to be desired. Big disappointment. I don’t think Jennifer Hudson was a good addition at all, and the overall story showed Carrie as completely dependent when we need to see her as INdependent. Meanwhile, there wasn’t enough of Charlotte or Stanford, and Miranda didn’t have her usual hilarious wit. But I can’t bitch because I’m glad we finally got our movie, so I’ll STFU!! Other than that, why is SJP pulling this Sarah Palin hair? Kim C is a fox at 52 and I really hope she did the movie for more than just $$ (which she admitted to).

Why is it that without one castmate the automatic suspicion is that there is animosity? That’s always the case with females…
And FYI the animosity between Kim Cattrall and SJP are false. Kim didn’t sign on to do the movie at first because she had just gotten divorced and her dad had been diagnosed with a disease, so obviously it was not a good time for her.
