So … we’re getting down to the wire on Project Runway and altho the Season 5 Finale Fashion Show took place at The Tent in Bryant Park at New York Fashion Week last Friday, we the TV viewing audience still have a competition to get thru before we find out who is this year’s winner:

Last night’s ep featured a challenge where the designers had to create an entire make-over outfit for a recent college graduate so that they can venture out into the world to find their first jobs. Not only did the designers have to please their college graduate clients but they also had to please the clients’ mothers as well. After the jump, find out who was in, who was out and who managed to successfully design a new make-over look for their client in the episode titled Transformation …
OK … it must be said, shouted from the rooftops even, that my boy Joe from Detroit was ROBBED on last night’s ep of Project Runway. I absolutely knew that he was going to get the axe by how heavily they were focusing on him and his personal life … I was hoping against hope that Suede would be the one to get auf’ed from the competition but, sadly, he managed to squeeze thru and live to see another competition. Boo.

Don’t get me wrong … Joe‘s outfit was hideous and poorly constructed. It was so fug, so out of date that it gave the judges the opportunity to pull him from the competition, in my opinion, a bit too soon. I think it’s very clear that Joe is a very talented designer but I think his problem was more a matter of judgment and sometimes taste. I agree, a suit does not necessarily equal professional. Had he gone with a print other than pinstripe (and crafted a much more flattering top, btw) he could’ve totally pulled off his look. I’m sorry, tho, but Suede‘s outfit was worse in my opinion. Those sleeves? Lord! That jacket was something that Paula Abdul would’ve worn back in 1991 (HERE‘s proof). In the end, tho, I hated all of the final looks … Korto‘s was the one I liked the best, I guess, even tho I really didn’t care for the keyhole in the jacket. Kenley is so overdue for a hearty slap in the face. She has become beyond annoying … bitchy and childish, she totally irritates the crap out of me. I hope someone puts her in her place soon cuz I’m so over her already. Next week’s preview makes it seem that she dares to talk shizz about Tim Gunn?! Oh no, I won’t stand for it. I hope Tim punches her in the neck if she dares to talk back to his face. I liked that all the designers shared personal photos of themselves for the ep (except for Suede that is). They all looked so cute and innocent … especially Jerell. I didn’t love this ep but it was a’ight … well, except for the part where Joe got eliminated. I’m gonna hafta pour out a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer on the pavement for my fallen Detroit homie … I’ll miss him.
AND, since the top 6 designers showed collections at the Season 5 Finale Fashion Show last weekend (even tho we don’t know who the top 3 in competition for the final prize are), click HERE for video of the collection that Joe showed at Bryant Park last Friday. I only watched the video myself after I learned he was eliminated from competition … I liked his collection, it looked cohesive and very cool. What did y’all think of Joe‘s collection and last night’s ep overall?

I totally Agree Trent…Tim should punch her right in the jugular!!! I thought she was so rude and full of herself…and yes I too was beaming with pride when she didn’t win…JUSTICE! Its a pity though…cuz I do like her clothes. Poor Joe…I was so rooting for him!!!!
IMA SLAP KENLEY IN THE FACE. What is wrong with that child!? I HATTTTTTTTTTE her. The fact that she found a mini-me was absolutely appauling. The girl was super cute and could do so much better than following in the footsteps of a rudely giggling kenley. I love how she can giggle at the misfortune of others but as soon as someone as wonderful as Tim Gunn gives ANY constructive criticism, she’s on a rampage.
What a douche.
That’s all I have to say.
Hey, have you noticed that the first guy that was eliminated (I think he was a bigger guy) said he wanted to win Project Runway so he could show his daughters that they could accomplish their dreams and then Joe said it on this episode and he went home.
What the heck Bravo? Do they not want little girls to think that their dreams can come true?
