Fortunately, David and I arrived from Reykjavik, Iceland in time to watch last night’s ep of Project Runway on TV. We were a bit tired an hungry but there was no way we were gonna miss seeing last night’s ep. Overall, there was a whole lotta mess on the runway last night … I could barely stop Twittering all ep long:
The designers were challenged to design a look for one of the other designers using a genre of music as their inspiration. LL Cool J was on hand for celeb guest judging duties. Thank the sweet baby Jebus, Suede was finally axed from the competition … BUT for the first time I was actually rooting for him not to get cut. I’m so sorry but I’ve done HAD IT with Kenley and her super annoying demeanor. It would be one thing if she were being annoying on purpose (like Wendy Pepper from season one) but it’s starting to become clear that this is just the way that she is … pompous, disrespectful and totally clueless. The girl cannot take criticism at all … and is long overdue for a hearty slap across the face, sry to say:
But, in the end, Suede in all his tragic sadness had to be the one to go. Seriously, WTF? was he wearing all ep long? He really did look like Elton John on a bad day. I dunno who’s gonna wanna procure a design from him but … best of luck with whatever endeavor he takes on from here on out. Was it just me or did Korto and LeAnne both look like they wanted to kill themselves/each other? They looked so miserable all ep long … the poor dears, I love them both so much … I think they should’ve had more fun with the whole thing. Tim Gunn should’ve hauled off and whipped Kenley‘s ass … for real. She was so smug and so bitchy to him … had he actually decked her, I might’ve fallen to the floor with glee. Actually, Nina Garcia looked like she would’ve loved to have taken a swing at Kenley herself … I don’t think she’s got a friend in the world on that show. Poor LL Cool J … he looked so lost … Kenley‘s version of Hip-Hop gave the poor guy fits of perplextion. In the end, I’ll agree that the right person was sent home … but Kenley needs to go. I’m sorry. It must happen. Korto, LeAnne and Jerell for the finale … that is the way it needs to happen. The end.

To his credit, Suede really worked his look on the runway. He helped Korto win last night’s challenge … that’s about the only thing about him that I can give credit for. I won’t miss the third-person Suede speak or that sad blue fauxhawk. I am really satisfied by last night’s ep. We’ve got one more to go before the finale … I’m sooooo excited now :)
Last thing, click HERE to see Suede‘s collection that he was able to show at Bryant Park for NY Fashion Week earlier this month during the Project Runway Season 5 Finale Fashion Show. You’ve GOT to watch the vid … is collection was so tragic. He stole Blayne‘s tacky color palette and created a collection of ill-fitting garbage. That he deigned to show these pieces at New York Fashion Week only underscores that he really had no right to be there in the first place. So … what did y’all think of the ep/Suede‘s collection?

The way Jerell and Korto observed Kenley’s constant declaration that she KNOWS what hip hop style is and that her design nailed it (word to your muthah) was priceless. Some of the best PR moments ever.
i think for this episode the show could have been temporarily renamed “project cultural misunderstanding (with racist overtones)”. the outfits themselves were totally obscured by the infuriating stereotypes flying left and right throughout the whole ep. l
eanne’s runway walk was absolutely scandalously racist and mocking, the punk outfit was completely un-punk, as was his clown-like make-up, LL was skeeze-tastic in his appraisal of the pop outfit, which in and of itself was tasteless and embracing all of the most misogynistic aspects of the pop industry, and throughout there was an unrelenting mockery of country style and southern people (going out for ribs!?! eff you, micheal kors) … jesus, it’s been a long time since i was this offended by a tv show, and really the first time i can think of with PR at all. completely disappointing.

Kenley is MAKING this season of PR. I’m glad she’s been around for so long. She’s probably gonna get the boot next week because she really only knows one style – her own – but damn if she doesn’t make awesome t.v.! … and really cute clothes [again, in her style]. You know you love them! <3

I am so over Kenley – that beyotch needs to get a beat down. How dare she talk like that to Tim. Ugh and to think I liked her in the beginning. No more. It doesn’t look like she is any better next week either.
Okay I have to say I hate Kenley’s guts. Seriously. If she wins the big enchilada I will travel the country, find her, hold her down and then proceed to poke her eyes out…and then poke out my own. It just shouldn’t be so. She’s got an atrocious attitude and seriously where the f*ck does she get off saying things like,’What does Tim know anyway?’……is she retarded?!?! She’s kicked out some decent designs over the course of this season…but her name will never be up there with the likes of her idol, Diane Von Furstenburg. Because she keeps churning out the same tired fifties print sh*t but mostly because she has a sh*t attitude that will most certainly come back to bite her in the ass. Karma’s a mug.

Though I think it was Suedes turn to go, I really was torn about Kenley staying an extra show. Gah- not a fan.
As for Suedes runway show- awful awful awful. It looks like a 5 year old with cotten candy sticky fingers made that collection.

I couldn’t have said it better myself. After last week I was insistent that Suede be axed next, but last night I sang a different tune and was kind of sad to see him go, but Kenley… that Kenley, there is NO doubt about it that she will be axed next. HOW F’ING OBNOXIOUS… a defensive 5 year old child. but i have to say all in all this was THE most entertaining episode. all the banter and personality is there, super funny, and I fall in love more and more with Jerrell and his cute little facial expressions and quips *grin* each episode…
I love me some Jerrell, too! His sense of humor is sharp and clever, and his designs are consistently very good. I am so pulling for him! I cannot believe Kenley – who the HELL does she think she is, speaking to Tim Gunn that way?!?!?!? Seriously?? I also would pay big money for a Tim doll if anyone knows where to get one. And if he talks, even better.

I used to like Kenley, now she just this whiney and disrespectful brat who is too overly confident. I was done with her when she started laughing at other people on the runway. Seriously grow up, you Betty Paige wannabe.
I’m on team Jerrell and Korto.
First, Kenley’s bitchy ass attitude stinks worse then “big foots dick” or “a used diaper covered in burnt hair”, but it pains me to say that I still like her designs. Who does she think she is? “What does Tim know?” TIM COULD FILL SEVERAL BOOKS FULL OF THINGS THAT YOU, KENLEY, DO NOT KNOW! ugh. Suede… tsk tsk tsk. I can’t think of a single reason why he was on the show to begin with? Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!? His collection was CRAPTASTIC at best, I totally agree with the previous assumption that they only gave him “24 hours and Wal-Mart materials”- GAG! I didn’t think anyone did any of the outfits properly- punk was ugly as hell, rock was lame, country was butt ugly (but Korto has a beautiful badunkadunk!) and hip hop was off the mark, unless you were, you know, Kelis. Jerrel did the best job, Kenley looked great in that outfit! Can’t wait for the next two episodes!! :) So much crying!!
I am really concerned that Jerell will go home next week. Like everyone else, I’ve fallen in love with him through the series…he’s so funny and sweet and quirky. But I had Kenley marked for Bryant park and I’m not usually wrong about these things. But I’d rather see Jerell in the top three, just because I think he’s got more scope than Kenley.
I usually love Jerell’s outfits but this one for Kenley gave me only one look in mind – BARBARELLA! as a brunette. :D
And I think that this time all the designs were really out of the blue. Didn’t like this idea at all, it wasn’t innovative as it always was on this show.
Anyway, can’t wait to know who’s the final three ! :)
Kenley looked hot y’all in last nights episdoe. Jerell WORKED that challenge. Love him to death. Kenley really bothered me with her complete rejection of any criticism last ep. I mean really? Korto has seriously got to cheer up in the challenges! I mean she WINS and she looks sad. This whole one emotion monotone speaking thing has REALLY got to go. Other than that I love her designs and was happy for her win :)
