Michael Phelps made a special guest appearance on ABC last night during Jimmy Kimmel’s Big Night of Stars pre-Emmy Awards special. Phelpsie made a cameo in a Grey’s Anatomy spoof that introduced him as a new character on the show — Dr. McSwimmy. Here are a few screencaps from the spoof:
Not only was this little skit funnier than the entire Emmy Awards show itself (or so I hear) but it was infinitely funnier than any of his skits from his appearance on Saturday Night Live last weekend. After the jump, check out the full video of this Grey’s spoof for yourselves …
I understand that Phelpsie took a bit of heat for his alleged lackluster performance on SNL but I think that this McSwimmy spoof shows that he’s got the chops to do comedy … yes?

Eh? That was also pretty lackluster. He barely said anything, and smirked whenever he did. Oh yes so hilarious. The acting AROUND him was funny. Although the fact he gets so much attention is a joke in itself.

I think that all of the skits from SNL that centered around him being Michael Phelps were funny for the most part and that he can make fun of himself a lot more readily than he can stretch to really comedic parts if that makes sense.
He is well-spoken in interviews and is comfortable with himself, but he isn’t a comedian so it doesn’t always sit well when he tries to be something else, in my opinion. But he makes me giggle all the time when he is being himself.

LMAO! ok well… It’s true, it’s funny but he barely said anything. I still see him as a bad actor. I guess he got lots of help on the acting to do this.

Nicola,are you green?.Boy you are a really envious thing.MP is a great athlete.14 Golds,8 in one Olympics.What have you done lately that is worthwhile?.I found both the SNL and the Emmy skit funny but then,I see MP just what he is a sport figure that is comfortable with himself,just like I do not expect Steve Martin winning 8 olympic medals.Cool,boy,cool.

Ugh. I can’t stand Michael Phelps now. I totally lost my respect for him after his wild partying and his endorsements of everything from private jet planes to Frosted Flakes. I’m also getting tired of his face (too much exposure) – he really isn’t attractive to look at and while his body is built well for swimming, it really is strangely proportioned.

that was a really good laugh!! phelps is my kind of guy – not over the top hot, but with a hot bod and cute smile. his ears are so big it’s like will smith’s – big but it makes him him!
