Kiefer Sutherland Spends Quality Time With His Daughter
Earlier this week we learned that Elisha Cuthbert will be reprising her role as Kiefer Sutherland’s on-screen daughter in the upcoming new season of 24 … but did y’all know that Kief has a real-life daughter, too? I didn’t … which is why these pics of Kiefer and his daugher Sarah Jude were a big surprise to me. Check out these pics of daughter and dad hanging out together in NYC this week:
I also didn’t know that the runic tattoo oh his forearm was real … I’ve seen it before but for some reason I always thought it was a fake tattoo used for his movies. I tried to decipher the runes but I am more familiar with the Futhark Rune alphabet rather than the Icelandic Rune alphabet which I learned are the runes used for Kiefer’s tattoo. I understand the tattoo reads, “I Trust You to Kill Me” which doesn’t sound like a nice message but prolly holds some significance for the Kief-man (UPDATE: Pink reader Char informs me that I Trust You To Kill Me is the title of Rocco Deluca and the Burden’s album and that Kiefer manages them). Totally off topic, I’ve contemplated getting a runic tattoo myself … and may still one day, even if Kiefer did it first ;) ANYWAYS … I was quite surprised to learn this new info about Kiefer Sutherland so I thought I’d share. Any other interesting Kiefer tidbits that I’m unaware of?

I Trust You To Kill Me is the title of Rocco Deluca and the Burden’s album. Kiefer manages them, thats what the tattoo will mean!!!! :)

Continuing from the message above, if you watch the documentary, you can see Kiefer getting that tattoo done and explaining why he’s getting it (pst…you can find the clip on youtube). It’s a really great documentary in general though and I highly recommend it.

1. Rocco DeLuca & the Burden is AMAZING and under-recognized. Seriously consider listening to them.
2. Sarah Jude’s mother, Camilla Kath, was Kiefer’s first wife– and in a Courteney Cox/David Arquette type situation, she is eight years older than him. She is also his only child by blood.

Kiefer is also a grandfather! When he was 18 or 19 he married Sarah’s mom, who had a 9 or 10 year old daughter (whose father was Terry Kath of Chicago) and he basically raised her as his own daughter. She had a son who is a year or 2 old. And Sarah was named after Sarah Jessica Parker and Jude Cole. You need anymore Kiefer tidbits and I’m the one to ask!

He was once roommates with Robert Downey Jr (who was dating Sarah Jessica Parker at the time) and that’s why he named her Sarah (just to expand on the above comment) Jude Cole is his BFF
Kiefer first got married when he was 20 years old (not, 18 years old as stated above!) His daughter Sarah is 21 years old now

Keifer’s mother is actress Shirley Douglas, and ergo his grandfather is Tommy Douglas, the man who first introduced universal health care to Canada. (Tommy Douglas was also premier of Saskatchewan in the 1930s, kinda like a Canadian version of a US governor) Tommy Douglas also was voted “Greatest Canadian” by the Canadian population.
