‘Kath & Kim’s US Debut Is Imminent
The US debut of Kath & Kim is only about 2 weeks away and NBC is doing the final push to promote the series debut. As I’ve said all along, I’m going to give the show the full benefit of the doubt even tho I know it won’t be exactly like the amazing original Australian version of the show. I do trust, tho, that Molly Shannon and Selma Blair will be able to make me laugh … and that, over all, is what I’m most looking forward to. Here are a few screencaps from the latest NBC promo video for Kath & Kim:
At least I’m relieved to see that the US version of the series will showcase Kim’s love of thong underwear … on that account, I can breathe a hefty sigh of relief. After the jump, check out this latest Kath & Kim promo video and judge for yourself …
I dunno … the more I see, the more I like. I just want it to be good … then I’ll finally have a reason to watch NBC on Thursday nights again.

“Where are my Care Bears?” – Ha! I hope this show is good..I love Molly Shannon..She needs this! And I agree with mo! The Office and 30 Rock are so great! My Name Is Earl wasn’t so great last season but this season looks better!

Sorry, there is way too much better TV on than to watch this knockoff. I LOVE ME some Molly Shannon and Selma Blair… but the Office is so much better. Then we have project runway, Heroes, 24, 90210, Friday Night Lights (on DirecTV 101) Grey’s Anatomy, oh… and GOSSIP GIRL!!!

being australian, living in the u.s. and growing up with the original kath and kim – i am shitting myself!!!!!!!!!!!! i really want it to be good and i want it to reflect the original and i want it to be its own show and i dont want it to bring down the original!!! im just really nervous about the whole thing. oh, and i care about the election and global warming too!!!

Why condemn this knockoff when you have not seen it. You are ok with The Office knockoff which is good but not as good as the original.

This looks…really…bad.
I’m an Aussie, and Gina Riley and Jane Turner are the ONLY Kath and Kim. As much love as I have for Molly Shannon (and Selma Blair in smaller amounts), nothing will beat the original.
