Here are a couple of kinda amazing photos of singer/songwriter Jason Mraz holding what looks to be a marijuana cigarette (or a joint, if you will) while backstage with Dutch television host Sascha Visser (who is not just holding a joint but is puffin’ on it, too). The photo has been captioned by the photo agency “Jason Mraz smoking a joint” but, in all fairness, the photos do not necessarily show that A.) Jason is holding an actual joint per se (it could be a hand-rolled tobacco cigarette) or that B.) Jason is smoking anything (he’s just holding it) … check ‘em out:
Now, we know for a fact that Jason likes to wield sharp cutlery while in his skimpy underwear but we do not know for a fact that he likes to smoke dope. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that he likes to engage in said enterprise but … well, let’s just let the photos speak for themselves. I gotta say, Jason Mraz‘s appeal has really grown on me in the past few months. I love his new album, I love his My Space updates and I love that pics like these exist. He looks fun. What do y’all think … is he puffin’ on the happy grass or do any of y’all think it’s just a regular ol’ hand-rolled tobacco cig?

i’ve been a fan of mraz for 5+ years, and if you ever get the chance to see him live, jump at it. he’s so entertaining–sounds better live than he does on the cd, which is pretty rare these days. <3<3<3
He has been featured in High Times magazine where he spoke openly of his pot-smoking. It’s no big secret.
um, it’s jason. of course it’s weed. listen to ‘jesus bo beezus’ by him and his friend bushwalla, the last verse of the song is ‘smoke pot’ repeated about 20 times. :)
Hey if that’s what makes him happy then so be it. I’ve been a fan for years. He came to Allentown in late 2003 and his acoustic set is insane. If anyone ever gets the chance I highly recommend you go and see him!!
I love Mr. A-Z. He is very talented. I think people often over look his talent, especially his amazing skill as a lyricist.
Oh, and I LOVE his blog.
Mary Jane or cigarette, I don’t care (although I’m not a fan of smoking), I like him for his talent, and his outlook on life, and the insight I often get from his blogs.

If you’ve ever heard him interviewed he sounds stoned out of his gourd most of the time.
if you read his myspace blogs he mentions in there that he does like to smoke weed so i’m sure thats what he was doing.
He talks about smoking weed in a lot of his songs and even adds lines about it while improvising during live concerts. That’s definitely a joint. Go see him live Trent, he’s amazing! Best concert I’ve ever been to. Going again November 2nd!

I am a Dutch girl and it’s funny to read that it’s big news here , to us it is not so special. But it’s not true that everyone here smoking weed that is not at all. Most people here in the Netherlands have never smoked weed!
Sascha Visser is HOT, Here in Holland he’s one of the most populair boys!
