Jason Mraz Likes To Smoke
Here are a couple of kinda amazing photos of singer/songwriter Jason Mraz holding what looks to be a marijuana cigarette (or a joint, if you will) while backstage with Dutch television host Sascha Visser (who is not just holding a joint but is puffin’ on it, too). The photo has been captioned by the photo agency “Jason Mraz smoking a joint” but, in all fairness, the photos do not necessarily show that A.) Jason is holding an actual joint per se (it could be a hand-rolled tobacco cigarette) or that B.) Jason is smoking anything (he’s just holding it) … check ‘em out:
Now, we know for a fact that Jason likes to wield sharp cutlery while in his skimpy underwear but we do not know for a fact that he likes to smoke dope. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that he likes to engage in said enterprise but … well, let’s just let the photos speak for themselves. I gotta say, Jason Mraz’s appeal has really grown on me in the past few months. I love his new album, I love his My Space updates and I love that pics like these exist. He looks fun. What do y’all think … is he puffin’ on the happy grass or do any of y’all think it’s just a regular ol’ hand-rolled tobacco cig?

I’m a HUGE Mraz fan and if you keep up with his journal entries you know he’s a big supporter of legalizing the happy grass :-). If that’s what keeps his awesomeness so awesome… have at it! Next show: November 28 in his hometown!!!

Have you ever listened to his music? And I don’t mean on We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. If you listen to the lyrics on Mr. A-Z or any of his live acoustic albums he clearly talks about the green frequently. He’s probably one of the most amazing musicians and people of our time… All of his music is amazing and I can’t wait to see him live in November!!

He’s a vegan and eats all raw materials, he doesn’t drink alcohol…but he does love him some grass…so I’m positive its a joint. I actually want to say he doesn’t smoke cigarettes…he talked all about it on ichat with perezhilton. He also said he doesn’t think anything that comes from the earth is bad.

Of course he smokes happy grass, that’s not to say he’s doing so in this picture..but pretty much everyone musically inclined smokes at one point or another, it’s like the right of passage to be a musician. The Jonas Brothers probably smoke happy grass, or they will at some point in the future. There is nothing wrong with that. You can’t DIE from smoking too much happy grass, but you can DIE from drinking too much alcohol. Just some food for thought.

smoking joints with a filter is typically dutch, everyone here in the netherlands does it. they probably got it from a dutch coffeeshop or the dutch dude rolled em.

So this guy makes a big deal about how he eats vegan, “macrobiotic” (whatever that means if you’re touring the world constantly), etc., yet he still smokes. Whether it’s cigarettes or weed, he’s an idiot. You can eat healthy all you want, but if you’re puffing smoke into your lungs, you’re still gonna die young and painfully.

Dear Allison, weed, or any other form of drugs, isn’t legal in the Netherlands.(a common mistake) The Dutch don’t condone nor condemn the use of drugs. They trust people taking their own responsability (like alcohol). And they’re just not that uptight when it comes to enforcing the law as long as using it is recreational and you’re not dealing Just know what you’re doing. Be aware of the risks involved and don’t cause any trouble.

one thing jason mraz should rethink is the whole “weed” being natural and from the earth…if he grows it himself organically then sure, but if he is buying it from dealers…then that’s bad, cuz u dont know what’s in that stuff! chemicals galore…plus he should eat it naturally rather than smoke it..if he’s all about “being natural” hahaha. =)

I love Mraz. I met him at The Fray concert a while back in my hometown and his of San Diego. He is such a great guy and his music is amazing. I’ve been following it for years and years before many people knew who he was.

Hey if that’s what makes him happy then so be it. I’ve been a fan for years. He came to Allentown in late 2003 and his acoustic set is insane. If anyone ever gets the chance I highly recommend you go and see him!!

I love Mr. A-Z. He is very talented. I think people often over look his talent, especially his amazing skill as a lyricist.
Oh, and I LOVE his blog.
Mary Jane or cigarette, I don’t care (although I’m not a fan of smoking), I like him for his talent, and his outlook on life, and the insight I often get from his blogs.

I am a Dutch girl and it’s funny to read that it’s big news here , to us it is not so special. But it’s not true that everyone here smoking weed that is not at all. Most people here in the Netherlands have never smoked weed!
Sascha Visser is HOT, Here in Holland he’s one of the most populair boys!
