I was SO resistant to BSG but finally caved in Fall of last year after several of my non-sci-fi-watching friends kept urging me watch it. I burned right through all the seasons, Netflix couldn’t send them quick enough. Then the strike happened and season 4 kept getting pushed back and it was just so maddening! (The last ep of season 4.0 was allegedly supposed to be the series finale on account of the strike, and I’m SOOO glad it wasn’t.) I had NO CLUE they were breaking season 4 into two parts and when the last episode of 4.0 ended, I almost took to the streets, I was so pissed. Cannot wait until Season 4.5 premieres. Looking forward to your BSG posts. It is just a great drama that happens to be set in space; all the political and ideological themes are woven in so beautifully. Also, I am so gay for Starbuck, that I overlook her tired drunk storylines. And forget Captain KneeJerk Reaction Lee Adama and Mrs. Helo McCylon. GAH I hate them! Of all the “youngins,” Gaeta is my favorite.

Like Kate, I was going to recommend BSG as well(since you seem to have some sci-fi tendencies), but I felt like you wouldnt look into my recommendation as I am just some random poster.

You probably know this, but just in case http://galacticasitrep.blogspot.com/
is a great fansite. But I’d avoid it until you get all caught up as the site and comment section can get very spoiler-y.

Some other great shows are Joss Whedon’s sadly short-lived Firefly and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Also, props on actually being a “nice gossip blogger”. I’ve read a bunch of gossip sites and too often bloggers veer into cruel schadenfreude, so its really nice to see someone who can employ intelligent good-natured humor without the immaturity/maliciousness of high school bully. Cheers!

You know, it’s funny, there have been more than a few occasions I’ve specifically wondered why I never saw you post about Galactica, and I considered saying something so many times because I could just imagine this very post… you just have such excellent (similar to mine, that is) taste and it seemed like based on the other stuff you love, BSG seemed to be a perfect match. So I guess I just sort of thought you were maybe just too hip for sci fi (and I don’t mean to use “hip” as an insult for once), or that it would be stupid to suggest because I would just be some weird, off-base nerdy fan who was acting like she knew you and sticking her nose into your busy schedule to tell you about some geek show…
So, when I saw the word “frak” in the title of my favorite gossip site, it made me feel like I wasn’t insane after all! And when you asked “why didn’t anybody tell me about this sooner?” – well, I had to answer :)

Season 4.5 is supposed to air in January but expect the network to push it back months at the last minute.
