First Listen: ‘Keeps Gettin’ Better’ By Xtina Aguilera

"Sometimes I'm a superbitch"
September 5th, 2008

Radio station Z100 in NYC has world premiered Xtina Aguilera’s new song Keeps Gettin’ Better on the radio and is now offering the song for streaming online:

I’ve listened to the song a couple of times and I’m still not sure how I feel about it. Something about the cadence beat of the song doesn’t grab me right off but mebbe after a few listens it’ll grow on me. The lyrics are a bit cheeky but … nothing revolutionary. Have a listen, tell me what you think.

I think she needs a more natural look. Her look is fake, it’s time to grow up Xtina

  2. christine Says:

i’ve always loved christina but i like her with a more softer look. as for the song, it’s ok. i think i’d have to listen a few more times to really decide.

  3. Katikins Says:

I like it! I think it will be prime for a dj mix in the clubs. Sure, it’s not “ground breaking”, but it’s good.

  4. Ricardo Says:

This sounds like a Bonus Track of Britney’s ‘Blackout’ LOL!
    The same beat =S
Especially sounds like Britney’s “Radar” (Track #3 of Blackout)

  5. CAT Says:

sounds a touch like Goldfrapp’s Ooh La La, but way more cheesy and not as good. Like someone else said though, DJs will eat it up.

  6. A Says:

I like it. Trent, why do you hate on X-Tina so much? Your blog implies that you think the sun shines out of Britney’s ass every time she just about blinks, but Christina posesses the artistry and staying power of a truly gifted performer. Viva la X-Tina!

  7. Joanna Says:

I really liked it from the first 10 seconds, even before she started singing. It’s really catchy and a good driving song. It’s gonna blow up big time and maybe then I’ll not like it as much, but for now I’m all for it. It’s been too long since she’s had a song like this come out.

  8. Dana Says:

I really like it! It’s another side of her that we haven’t heard yet and I just think that she is a creative singer! Great voice!

  9. Mr. Gyllenhaal Says:

I think it is pretty cool. I can totally see it growing on me! X-Tina rocks.

  10. robin Says:

i enjoyed it!! would be gud addition to my gym spinning class music lineup :)

  11. Nicole Says:

i like it! good song for driving like joanna said. its catchy. i can see what ricardo said about it kinda sounding like radar, but as soon as she starts singing…it sounds different. this would be on my daily rotation for sure.

  12. Cait Says:

Love it! This is just for her decade of hits CD, so I wouldn’t expect anything like MAJOR. But this is a perfect addition to a hits CD as a new track. I’ll be getting it for sure!

  13. LoLo Says:

I think she has alot more talent than this song makes her sound. True, it is a good club dance beat, but its nothing that i think i will ever say i “OMG i lovvvvve this song”!

  14. mj Says:

do you ever like anything Christina does? you are always taking digs at her?

  15. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

  16. Jillie Bean Says:

I love me some Cristina!!! But I do find the song to be a bit “poppy.” Christina is always so cutting edge – it surprises me. She promised her new album would be futuristic. I agree with others that DJs will eat this up. It is a good first single from the album!!! :)

  17. lt Says:

    i love it!
anything she does, she sounds great
she sounds like she is having fun and her life just keeps getting better…she is truly gifted & will be @ for a very long time, god willing

plus, it’s got a beat & you can dance to it

  18. Jess Says:

She is awesome! As always great beat and AMZING voice! She is one of the best singers in our generation. Some people (like you) hate on her because she is a natural talent unlike those pop tarts like spears or nowadays miley. Love her she is norma, great family and always so good at what she does.

  19. Daniel Says:

OMG the is soong is amazing.. but i agree why do you hate her so much!!! she is great!!!!

  20. Mike Says:

this is the Christina Ive loved and missed. loving it and hoping she keeps this sound ;)

  21. Charlet Says:

I love her, can do no wrong in my book! It’s fun and catchy, thanks for the link!

  22. Jeena Says:

Christina rocks forever!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait for her new album, it has been way too long!! Love you gurl! <3

  23. Kat Says:

I love Christina’s voice, but as I was listening to the song, Rhianna kept popping up in my head. It sounds like something she would do and I could almost hear her voice.

  24. Lo Says:

I don’t know how I feel about it but it’s funny how you are so critical of Christina but britney can put out any kind of stupid lyrics and a catchy beat like this song and everyone falls all over it. I guess because we don’t except “revolutionary” from Britney? If that is the case than I agree. Christina is too good for this song and she should’ve tossed it Britney’s way as it is more fitting for her.

  25. mo Says:

i kind of expected more from xtina, her last album is tough to follow. don’t see her vision as an artist with this single– hope the album is more tailored and shows her growth.

  26. Paz Says:

This does seem like it would be from Britney’s Blackout.
It’s ehh. I think she does better when the music is more organic, without the artificial beats that mask the vocals.

  27. gayana Says:

shes an awesom artist but i think this song sounds liek britney’s radar… a bit… its not really her style its sumthing that brit would sing… eventho i fuckign hate her i think radar song is good, and since these sound alike, i liek this track as well ))

  28. gayana Says:

omg the beginning of the song i almost liek brit’s radar… why the fuck is she doignit? shes somuch better than stupid spears… ugghh

  29. Janice Says:

The beat, pretty good, and I was on board until she hit the chorus. She lost me when she called herself a super bitch. No, girl, no. :=/

  30. Sheryl Says:

    i think i like it. i think it’ll be a hit!

  31. natalie Says:

the lyrics aren’t revolutionary? and i suppose “gimme gimme more gimme gimme more.. gimme gimme gimme gimme” is revolutionary?

    such double standards… tsk tsk

  32. DANA Says:

i like it, i don’ understand why they give xtina such a hard time music is about enjoy everything so what its a ppopy song and the lyrics aren’t that profund but come on toxic is? opp’s i did it again is?

give her a break and opportunity of show this lighter side of her
