Britney Spears To Release New Album On December 2
Jive/Zomba Records has just announced that Britney Spears will be releasing her new album, titled Circus, on December 2, 2008 (her birthday) with the disc’s first single, titled Womanizer, scheduled to be released to radio on September 22!!!!
Britney Spears has arranged a wonderful birthday present for herself: her sixth studio album, Circus, due for release Dec. 2 – the day she turns 27, her label announced Monday. Coming so soon after her triple victory – for video of the year, best female video and best pop video for “Piece of Me” – at MTV’s Video Music Awards on Sept. 7, Circus follows up her well-received 2007 album Blackout and continues the upward spiral the sometimes-troubled pop star has been experiencing. The Outsyders, described by Spears’s label, Jive records, as an up-and-coming Atlanta production team, have produced the first single from the album, “Womanizer,” which will drop Sept. 22. Other producers and writers with a hand in the album, according to Jive, include Dr. Luke (writer-producer of the title track, “Circus”), Danja, Max Martin, Bloodshy & Avant and Guy Sigsworth – who’s collaborated with such other artists as Madonna, Alanis Morissette and Bjork.
OMG!!! We finally have a release date!!!!! OMG!!! She’s working with Max Martin and Bloodshy & Avant again!!!! OMG!!! This is amazingly exciting news … let the comeback commence, y’all :)

I have to say, I’m one of those people that was very anti-Britney Spears growing up (she was big in my high school days). I’ve grown up a bit though (I hope!) and I actually like her music now. I was really against her when I was in high school b/c I was one of the “good kids” and completely against her really sexy image since she was a role model for kids my age and younger. Now though, I don’t really care, but I just never thought the day would come when I would be cheering for her!

Can I just say how beautiful and put together she seems to be?? MAN! She’s gorgeous. And it’s all since Sam Lutfi has been out of her life…is that guy in jail yet for drugging her??? It’s so obvious that her behaviour has done a 360 since he’s been out of the picture…

Why doesn’t she just give up the music career for a while and try to regain custody of her boys? We all know that she will never again be the Britney of yesteryear so it’s time for her to call it a day and work on being a mother! I’m glad she’s trying to straighten her life out but it’s obvious her priorities are on her career and not on having her boys full-time. She kinda disgusts me.

I’m sure that her lawyers are chipping away at their plan behind the scenes. Unfortunately they are not just going to GIVE HER the boys back fulltime. Even though I don’t think they were at risk with her (she was a risk to herself). Custody matters won’t be over until those kids are 18. My feeling is Brit and Kevin will come to a personal arrangement. At the end of the day who needs who more – Kevin needs Britney to stay somewhere in the spotlight (which has already dimmed dramatically). Which is what he was probably after in the first place. Sounds paranoid I know – but I think Shar and Kevin had a plan.

Andrea – (no I’m not going to bash your opinion) … It’s a nice thought that Britney could just fade away and be a fulltime mother. But the fact is Britney is Britney Spears. She is never going to be left alone. So I think the more she puts into her career the better. Then we won’t be subjected to endless pictures of her at the gas station or buying coffee (which is what happens when celebrities stop working). It’s a celebrity obsessed culture – once they are in, they can’t just jump ship (sadly).
