Avril Lavigne Debuts Her Fashion Line In Japan

The best damn thing?
September 14th, 2008

Avril Lavigne has officially thrown her hat into the fashion designer arena having just hosted her first Fashion Show in Harajuku, Tokyo (yes, it’s a place not just a Gwen Stefani song). Avril unveiled the latest designs for her Abbey Dawn line of sk8r punkette clothing at the local LaForet Mall where her line is sold … here are a few pics from the Abbey Dawn Fashion Show:

I mean … really? I never thought the grunge look would be making a comeback so soon. Somewhere Kurt Cobain is spinning in his grave, the poor thing. For those of you interested, Abbey Dawn is available for purchase in this country at Kohl’s … you have been warned ;)

Dude, I see this line Kohl’s… it is so pathetic. And it’s not even real grunge… old school grunge their clothes were actually dirty. This is a semi-pricey line that is supposed to look like cheap “careless” grunge clothing. An oxy-moron only the pop-slash-punk-princess-Avril herself could create.

  3. K Says:

I love how shes trying to be like Gwen Stefani with all the Asian models.

  4. debho Says:

    No, no and NO.

I work at kohls (pity me please), and the stuff, isn’t grunge at all. It’s not even designed by Avril, it’s “inspired”. Most of the stuff, is wannabe punk, skulls and all. Though it does seem to be fairly popular.

  12. debho Says:

The Veronicas did the whole skull thing last summer. My 8 yo daughter wore it a lot. Now of course, she’s over it. lol

  13. Laura Says:

yeaaah… it’s been a while (but not long enough) since I’ve seen red plaid matched with red and black stripes.

    Not digging it.

  14. Paz Says:

Avril’s now a married woman…isn’t the mall “punk” getting a bit old? Hot Topic seems edgier for God’s sake.

  15. Joanne Says:

The Japanese will lap it up … Anything western … it’s a shame as I think they have the cooler culture. Avril will make herself 100 million dollars richer. Wonder how she spends it???

From what I have read Avril’s Abbey Dawn clothing line is flying off the shelves at Kohl’s, and the CEO of Kohl’s is very pleased with how well Avril’s clothing line is selling. Also I read that her clothing line is selling so well that they will be adding new items to the Abbey Dawn line every eight weeks. I went to Kohl’s to check out her line and I have to say after seeing it in person that I really think Avril is really on to something, the quality of most of the items is excellent and the pricing is very reasonable. I also talked to the staff at the store and they said that they are having to restock the racks often. Anyway I will be buying more Abbey Dawn in the future and I really look forward to the new items that will be added to the line, oh and btw the fit is really good.
    Thanks for the post.

  17. CC Says:

Karde. Be honest, now. Do you work for Abbey Dawn?

    lame.

  18. Panti Christ Says:

Avril needs bitchslapped by Vivienne Westwood

  19. Nat Says:

    K = TWAT, please.

If she’s showing off clothes in JAPAN, don’t you think it’s logical they use JAPANESE MODELS?

  20. MelMel Says:

    Um. Um. Um. NOOOOOOOO.

  21. kim Says:

    Blech!

  22. Natalie Says:

This collection is just depressing. Not only is it incredibly dated, distasteful, and tired, it has a celebrity endorser to match. People would do much better to create this look at their local thrift store for a prettier price
