So … we’re getting down to the wire on Project Runway and altho the Season 5 Finale Fashion Show took place at The Tent in Bryant Park at New York Fashion Week last Friday, we the TV viewing audience still have a competition to get thru before we find out who is this year’s winner:

Last night’s ep featured a challenge where the designers had to create an entire make-over outfit for a recent college graduate so that they can venture out into the world to find their first jobs. Not only did the designers have to please their college graduate clients but they also had to please the clients’ mothers as well. MTVNews UK is reporting that Simon Cowell (head meanie on American Idol) has worked out a deal to have Britney Spears perform her new single Womanizer (due to hit radio stations here in the US next week) on the UK show X-Factor (which is kinda like American Idol) in December. If this performance actually comes to fruition, it will be the first time that Britney will perform in the UK since her Onyx Hotel Tour visited Londontown 4 years ago:

Britney Spears is set to perform on The X Factor – in her first visit to Britain in four years! If anyone was going to tempt Britney back to Britain, it was bound to be X Factor extraordinaire Simon Cowell. Cowell has reportedly persuaded the ‘Toxic’ star to perform her new single, Womanizer, on the hit ITV1 show in December. It will be Britney’s first visit here since her Onyx Hotel tour more than four years ago. A source from X Factor told The Sun: “Everyone is thrilled. To have Britney involved is a massive coup. They expect ratings to go through the roof when her performance airs.”

Woot! This is great news for the Brits! Britney has yet to commit to (or even announce) plans to perform here in the US so all y’all on that side of the pond have scored a big coup. I mean, why should we Yanks get to enjoy all the Britney ourselves … I don’t mind sharing. I know that there are hordes of loyal Britney fans in the UK (actually, all over Europe and the rest of the world) who have be anxiously awaiting her big musical comeback just like we have here so I’m happy that at least y’all have a live performance to look forward to. I’m hoping that Britters will be doing some performing here in the US as well … but in due time. I’m really looking forward to seeing what she’s got planned up her sleeve … but when she’s ready to show us. Might she be among the live in-person guests on the final ep of TRL when the show goes off the air this November? My money says yes …

Uh Oh! Mischa Barton ran into a bit of wardrobe difficulty in London, England as the poor girl suffered a mishap as she tried to make a graceful exit from a fashion show by taxi last night. An ill-fitting dress coupled with a lack of undergarments conspired to make an evening of embarrassment for poor Miss Barton … behold:

Actress Mischa Barton suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction last night as she revealed a little more than intended while leaving a fashion show in London. The star’s breast slipped out of her satin red and gold evening gown as she jumped into a taxi after the Fashion For Relief show at the Natural History Museum in South Kensington. The stunned 22-year-old quickly covered herself up and buried her head in her hands as the car pulled away.

Aww … I know that I give the girl her fair share of grief here on the blog but I kinda feel bad for her this time. You can tell that she was prolly thinking “OH EFF!” in that last pic when it dawned on her that she got caught mid-wardrobe malfunction again — and sure enough, here we are the next day talking about it. I mean, it’s still kinda funny … but I do feel a smidge bad for her. OK, I’m over the sympathy now ;)

Danity Kane minx Aubrey O’Day, who sometimes has a difficult time applying her make-up properly, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Complex magazine. In the coverstory interview, Aubrey confesses a love of porn (including but not limited to making her own) and in her magazine photospread she channels her inner stripper in photos that, I assume, are not entirely safe for viewing at work. The beauty told US magazine Complex she used to love watching JENNA JAMESON in action – but that stopped when they became pals. Additionally, Complex asked Aubrey what people who write tabloids and blogs tend to think of her and she responds, “That I’m a ho, a dumb blonde girl.” I gotta say … interviews and photoshoots like this prolly don’t help her cause. Here are a few pics from Janet Jackson’s LA tour stop last night at the Staples Center on her just launched Rock Witchu Tour. I must admit that these photos, much like the first photos released from this tour last week, are terribly disappointing and entirely unsexy. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Janet (Miss Jackson, if you’re nasty) but the costuming on this tour is utterly ridiculous and the highly sexualized themes of sadomasochistic bondage in the show have not only been done to death before (like in the Velvet Rope Tour) but have also been done so much better in previous tours (like in the Velvet Rope Tour). Take a look:

Granted, I admit that judging a live concert tour merely on photos is not entirely fair but in all honesty, I’ve not seen anything thus far that has come close to impressing me. People magazine reports that Janet’s Rock Witchu Tour opened to rave reviews in Vancouver, BC last week and perhaps my opinion will change if and when I see the show for myself. David is a huge Janet Jackson fan so we may yet see the show somewhere along the way. I am impressed that Janet is performing 30 songs each night on this tour … but I just can’t get past the ill-fitting costuming. If any of y’all have seen the show already, please set me straight. I suppose I can reserve judgment, despite my disappointment with what I’ve seen thus far.

Sienna Miller has made her way to NYC this week and was spied doing a bit of shopping and lunching in the SoHo district of Manhattan yesterday afternoon. Interestingly enough, Sienna was not alone … she spent part of her afternoon shopping in the neighborhood and lunching at a restaurant named Balthazar but she was not with her most recent paramour Balthazar Getty … she was actually with a totally different guy altogether. I understand that the pair were seen holding hands before they spotted the first photographer and put an end to the PDA. HMMM. Does this mean that Sienna’s tryst or whatever with the still-married Balthazar Getty is over? Could this be a new ploy to make him jealous? Perhaps she’s getting back at him for something? Mebbe she was just desperate for affection from a new friend? Might this be an innocent case of a couple of friends just hanging out together? What do y’all think?

More bad news today for Diff’rent Strokes child actor turned late night infomercial spokesman Gary Coleman. Gary has gotten himself embroiled in some new legal drama this week after getting into an altercation with with a guy at a bowling alley in Utah. Apparently, there was an incident with a cameraphone which led to an incident where Coleman allegedly hit a guy with his car before speeding off. Tho Coleman has not been taken into custody, he has since been charged with misdemeanor reckless driving and disorderly conduct and is currently at large:

Gary Coleman was formally charged Wednesday with reckless driving and disorderly conduct following an altercation at a bowling alley in Utah. “Mr. Coleman was notified today of the charges through his attorney,” said Lt. Bill Wright of the Payson, Utah, Police Department. “(Coleman) never spoke to us about what happened, but we gathered evidence after speaking to witnesses and the other party involved.” Both charges are misdemeanors. Coleman, 40, was backing out of a bowling alley around midnight on Sept. 6 when his truck hit Colt Rushton, 24, as well as another car. Rushton was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. Witnesses said Coleman became irritated after Rushton photographed him. The two argued in the bowling alley and then moved outside, Lt. Wright said. Rushton’s attorney, Dustin Lance, said in a statement: “This wasn’t a situation of paparazzi or stalker-razzi, this was a fan snapping two photographs with a cell phone.” Rushton has since filed a lawsuit against Coleman, seeking damages for medical bills, pain and suffering, and punitive damages. A rep for Coleman wasn’t immediately available for comment.

The way I understand it, Gary Coleman really can’t afford to have these sorts of lawsuits brought against him as the poor guy barely has two nickles to rub together. Despite the fact that he was a wildly successful child actor in the ’80s who made a lotta money, his unsavory parents not only worked him to death but they also took all of his money and pilfered it away … leaving the poor kid essentially broke for most of his adult life. These days, Coleman makes money doing commercials and infomercials for the money lending company Cash Call. This isn’t the first time that Gary Coleman freaked out on a fan … but, as far as I know, this was his most severe reaction. Hitting someone with your car is a very bad idea.
