A Happy Spears Family Reunion

Can you feel the lurve?
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Here are a few more pictures from this weekend’s birthday celebration that was thrown for Britney Spears’s sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. On Sunday, we got to see a few pics of the party from a far-off vantage point. Yesterday, we got to see a few close-up pics of Mama Lynne Spears posing with her newest grandbaby Maddie Brianne. Today we get a whole slew of photos of almost the entire Spears clan (only big brother Bryan Spears is missing) happily enjoying quality time with one another … I must admit, these pics damn near bring a tear to my eye:

POP star BRITNEY SPEARS looks to have put her troubles behind her as she relaxes with the whole family at a bash to celebrate her two sons’ birthdays. The Toxic singer’s eldest boy SEAN PRESTON turned three on Sunday, while JAYDEN JAMES celebrated his second birthday two days earlier. Britney, mum LYNNE, dad JAMIE, sister JAMIE LYNN and the teen’s newborn daughter MADDIE watched Sean and his brother driving their presents of electric cars at the star’s Los Angeles home … After reclaiming her gorgeous figure in the gym, she’s now gearing up to release her comeback album Circus in December. The collection, which is issued on her 27th birthday, features songs penned by some of the planet’s mightiest hit-makers. DR. LUKE, DANJA, MAX MARTIN, BLOODSHY & AVANT and GUY SIGSWORTH, who between them have composed chart-toppers for the likes of KATY PERRY, PINK, KYLIE MINOGUE and MADONNA, have all contributed tracks … Looks like it could be a very merry Christmas in the Spears household this year.

I know I say this all the time but I’m gonna keep on saying it … I am SO THRILLED at how much healing has taken place in the Spears family. They’ve all struggled thru a long, tough road over the past few years. They weren’t always unified but I have always contended that they have always loved and supported one another. After the jump, check out a bunch of really sweet photos of the Spears family enjoying one another’s company …

Daniel Craig Injured

Double Uh O
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Here are a couple pictures of Quantum of Solace actor Daniel Craig making his way thru the streets of London, England earlier today with his arm in a sling … I wonder what happened to our 007 hottie:

Surely this injury couldn’t have happened on the set of the latest James Bond film which wrapped a few months ago so I’m unsure how he could’ve gotten hurt. I just hope the poor guy heals quickly so he can get back to his usual sexy-lookin’ self. In these pics the poor man looks tired and haggard. Get well soon, Daniel.

Tyra Banks Does ‘V’ Magazine

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Tyra Banks is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of V magazine … here is her coverphoto:

It’s a great photo, I think. She’s deffo channeling a little bit of 1970’s Diana Ross in this coverphoto. She looks great … I can’t wait to see what the rest of the photospread looks like.

Has Mischa Barton Set Her Sights On Josh Hartnett?

New lurve in the air?
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Well, well now … what have we here … could it be that Mischa Barton, newly separated from her most recent boyfriend Taylor Locke, has got an eye on hookin’ up with fellow American actor Josh Hartnett who she just so happened to run into at Bungalow 8 in London last night? Of course, just because the pair were photographed in relative proximity doesn’t mean necessarily that the couple have begun philandering .. but … well … mebbe:

Some girls have all the luck, including it seems actress Mischa Barton. Not content to have a lifestyle and career most people would kill for, she also had the pleasure of hooking up with gorgeous actor Josh Hartnett after they bumped into one another at trendy club Bungalow 8 last night. Mischa, who recently split from musician boyfriend Taylor Locke is clearly keen to put the past behind her. The OC star spent a good hour writhing in front of Josh at the bar last night, and must have made an impression as they both headed back to his hotel at the end of the night. Not to suggest that anything happened between the extremely good-looking and single pair – and Mischa did trundle back to her own hotel an hour later. The actress, 22, looked desperate to impress Josh at the Temperley afterparty at Bungalow 8 when she arrived at 11pm. Hartnett, whose screen credits include Pearl Harbor, is in London to play Charlie Babbitt in the Apollo Theatre’s production of Rain Man. Josh, 30, was sitting with Kings Of Leon drummer Nathan Followill and seemed more interested in his conversation than the strutting beauty. A source said: “Josh looked pretty bored and was totally ignoring Mischa. She persisted though, and kept getting closer and closer to their table while dancing provocatively. Lots of girls were trying to get near their table, where the two guys were drinking champagne and vodka cocktails. Mischa had a lot to contend with, but didn’t give up.” Later, in the toilets, Nathan was overheard warning Josh off Mischa. The source added: “Nathan told him that he thought she talks too much” … Josh mustn’t have listened to his pal’s opinion, as Mischa got the breakthrough she’d been waiting for and started chatting with Josh. Her charms seemed to work, as both left with a group of friends to head back to the nearby Soho Hotel at 1.30am. With his pick of the ladies, Josh certainly seems like a hard guy to please.

Oh Lord … this has got bad idea written all over it. John Hartnett seems like a pretty smart guy, who’s dated his fair share of beauties … er, uncrazy beauties. If he’s smart, he’ll take a pass on dating Mischa … just some friendly advice :)

‘My Best Friend’s Girl’ Premieres In LA

Dane Cook tries his hand at another RomCom ... and then gets raunchy
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Kate Hudson, Dane Cook, Jason Biggs and others made their way out to the Cinerama Dome at the Arc Light Theater in LA last night for the Hollywood premiere of their new movie My Best Friend’s Girl. Unfortch, I was not able to attend last night’s event … but my good friends Darion and Kirsten were able to attend and D sends in a few of his photos and his report from the premiere event. First up, here are a few pics of the principal cast on the red carpet at last night’s premiere:

Yes, yes … everyone looked lovely, Dane Cook’s eyebrows looked plucked to near death, yadda yadda yadda. I’m most interested in reading what Darion thought of the movie and the premiere overall. Here are a few of Darion’s fun pics and his report from last night’s event:

Kirsten and I headed over to the Arclight in Hollywood to see the premiere of My Best Friend’s Girl, starring Kate Hudson, Dane Cook, Jason Biggs, and Alec Baldwin. It was held at the classic Cinemarama dome, which is always fun to see things in. On my way to the seat, we had problems finding which row was ours (it was so dark!), and a really nice guy with longish hair helped us out… I realized it was Hal Sparks (of Talk Soup and Queer As Folk fame)!! He was sitting a few rows behind us and was looking for seats at the same time. Only in LA … My Best Friend’s Girl is a romantic comedy about a guy named Dustin (Jason Biggs) who is in love with a girl named Alexis (Kate Hudson). Unfortunately Alexis doesn’t feel the same way, and Dustin comes on way too strong, thus getting dumped by Alexis. So Dustin asks his best friend to help out. Enter Tank (Dane Cook), who is hired by guys to date women and be the ultimate a-hole, thus causing the woman to run straight back to the last guy they were with. Naturally a love triangle follows! What’s really surprising about My Best Friend’s Girl is the raunchy humor. I was really expecting another cute but sleepy romantic comedy, but it really keeps you on your toes with “OMG!” laughter. Dane Cook delivers his lines and jokes with such rapid fluidity it’s like a verbal assault of hilarity. The writing is fantastic and Kate Hudson is ridiculously cute. She can somehow get away with dropping F-bombs on screen and still be adorable. The casting is spot on – I have to give a big shout out to Lizzy Caplan, who was a total scene stealer as Kate Hudson’s roommate. She was amazing in Cloverfield and is so funny in this film! Kirsten and I really enjoyed it and laughed a lot. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, spunky romantic comedy or a laugh out loud modern comedy in the vein of Wedding Crashers or a 40 Year Old Virgin type film. It’s a movie I can see a girl dragging a guy to on a date, and them both being totally entertained and laughing the whole way. When the movie was over we made our way to the afterparty at Opera/Crimson in Hollywood. It was a blast! While there I had the chance to get photos with some of the great talent in the film – Riki Lindhome (Hilary), Mini Anden (Lizzy), Malcolm Barrett (Dwalu, Dane Cook’s officemate), and of course Mr. Cook. Everyone was super nice and so friendly! I have to give a big shout out and warm THANK YOU to my boy Jean and my girl Danielle from Lions Gate for the hook up to the premiere and afterparty. Kirsten and I really had a blast and it was so sweet of them to host us!

Aww … I think I might have give Darion a job, this is the second report that he wrote for Pink is the new Blog (you can read his first PITNB special report HERE) and I think he is doing an amazing job. It sounds like he and Kirsten had a great time … I really wish I could’ve been there. Thanks D, for making us feel like a part of your night.

‘Equus’: Straight From The Horse’s Mouth

The TV Guide
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

So … last night David and I had the great fortune to see Daniel Radcliffe, Richard Griffiths and Kate Mulgrew in the Broadway production of Equus which is currently in previews at the Broadhurst Theater here in NYC. I must admit, I wasn’t too familiar with the Equus plotline before seeing the show last night, other than the fact that the main character appears fully nude on stage at the end of the play. I really wanted to see the show as fresh as possible so as not to go in with any preconceived notions. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the show overall and was very, very impressed with the acting performances by all of the castmembers:

I suppose I had some vague notion of the sexual undertones of the play beforehand but I was not prepared for what was presented. I really want to keep my comments as vague as possible so as not to ruin the experience for anyone else choosing to see the show. The story is intense and the acting was superb. Richard Griffiths is truly a wonder on stage. I saw him in History Boys back in 2006 and he was just as riveting last night as he was in History Boys. Kate Mulgrew (who many of you may know as Captain Kathryn Janeway on Star Trek: Voyager) was a delight! In all honesty, I felt that she overacted a wee bit last night (and shades of Capt. Janeway showed thru as well) but I love her entirely and was thrilled to have her mere feet in front of me on stage. Daniel Radcliffe was a total revelation (pardon the pun). I’ve seen his non-Harry Potter acting style in the film December Boys and was very impressed with him then … in this show, he is just stunning. When it got down to the part where he and his young female co-star had to strip down BARE NEKKID on stage … the audience was enraptured. You could hear a pin drop, it was very intense. I will say that Daniel is very, very brave to take on this role night after night in front of sold out houses of people … and he never broke character once. And he doesn’t just stand there … he is all over the place, standing, laying, squatting — totally bare in front of the entire audience. He was totally believable as Alan Strang, horse whisper (well, okay … not quite a whisperer so much as a mutilator). Again, I was not prepared for the sexual nature of the show … but it was handled very well.

The staging, tho simple, was orchestrated expertly. There is basically nothing on stage and yet, the bare stage props were able to transform the stage into an office, a living room, a beach and a horse stable — just brilliant. As for the simple costuming, also brilliant! You really have to see the show to understand — and I urge those of you able to do so to see this show. I’d love to see it again. I’m utterly convinced that Equus will get many Tony nominations … the show is really top notch.

David and I were pleasantly surprised to learn that our 3rd row center seats actually turned out to be front row seats … totally unobstructed view of everything. And, cuz I’m sure many of you want to know, concerning Daniel’s nekkidness. I will say that, in his defense, it was really very cold in the theater … make of that what you will.

At the show, I got to meet Pink readers Heather and her sister Alysse (who share a pic of Daniel that Alysse took after the show last night) as well as Shannon and her friend Izzy (I got to take a pic with Shannon):

It was my pleasure meeting you all. I hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did.

After our night at the theater, we met up with David’s friends Issac, Shane, Trey, Marissa and her man Ryan at the New York Musical Theater Festival Opening Night Party in the theater district. I just love David’s friends … we had a blast …

… and then we came home and ate an entire NYC pizza :) ‘Twas a good night, indeed! Tonight we’re having dinner with David’s cousin Caren which should also be fun! There is also trip planning to take care of as well … bizzy bizzy bizzy.
