The Following Message Has Been Brought To You By Trent Reznor

Warning: Politicalness ahead
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Trent Reznor has updated the official Nine Inch Nails website with a message of thanks to all the folks who came out in support of the just completed first leg of the Lights In The Sky Over North America Tour. The full text of his message also offers his opinions on the current political campaign for the US presidency which I’m sure some of you may agree with and some of you may disagree with:

I’d like to thank all of you who attended the first leg of the Lights In The Sky tour. If you missed it, check the schedule – we’ll be playing through the rest of this year. If you’ve seen it, come back – we’ll have some new tricks up our sleeve on this next leg. We’re very proud of this show and it’s been exciting (and quite the challenge) for us to present it to you.

His full message continues behind the cut. After the jump, read the rest of what Trent Reznor has to say to his political-minded fans. As TR says himself, “Nobody wants anyone preaching their opinions at them” so fans of the current Republican administration who are supporting the Republican ticket in the current presidential campaign might not be interested in reading any further …

Who Will Be Guest Judging The Season 5 ‘Project Runway’ Finale?

Can't anyone keep a secret anymore?
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

It seems like there can be NO SECRETS about the current 5th season of Project Runway that is currently airing on Bravo. For some insane reason, Bravo thought it prudent to not only list online the titles and full synopses of every episode of this season of Project Runway (including the eps that have yet to air) but also reveal the guest judges for each of the eps. Now, weeks ahead of the Project Runway Season 5 Finale Fashion Show we have word on who has been selected as the celebrity guest judge:

I mean, if true — I love the person chosen to be this season’s guest judge. I think she is the perfect person to sit in final judgment of this season’s competition. I just wish the secrets of the show could be better guarded so early before the eps actually air. I like being surprised from week to week, call me crazy. So as not to spoil the surprise for those of you who don’t want to know who the rumored celebrity guest judge is, I put the news behind the cut. After the jump, find out who has reportedly been chosen to guest judge …

Nicole Richie Finds New Uses For Xmas Garland

Hark, the Herald Angel's Bling
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Fashionista Nicole Richie has been making the rounds at New York Fashion Week in NYC over the past few days and has also been making her fair share of fashion statements. Here are a couple pics of Miss Richie out and about on the streets of NYC last night showing off her fave sparkly new fashion accessory:

When I think “Angel of the Lord” my mind doesn’t immediately go right to Nicole Richie … but in her defense, she has really cleaned up her act considerably in the past year and has reached a level of angelicness that was previously unheard of in her devilish youth. She might actually make a pretty remarkable Angel #1 in any Xmas pageant that would have her. Do y’all think this is a good look for her?

Shirley Manson’s Acting Debut

ATTENTION: 'TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES' SPOILER ALERT WARNING
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Woot! The second season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles premiered on FOX last night, picking up right where season one left off. While that is all well and good, I am most excited that Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson has joined the series cast and was featured prominently in the season two premiere episode last night. Here are a few screencaps of Shirley in her role as the mysterious Catherine Weaver:

Seriously, y’all … I love Shirley Manson. I am the biggest Garbage fan (as is my good friend Darion) and it thrills me to no end to see her in The Sarah Connor Chronicles. As the episode starts, Shirley (not in her role as Catherine Weaver, I must add) performs an arrangement of the song Samson and Delilah. Here is some info about the song:

The song is an original arrangement of a gospel spiritual called “Samson and Delilah,” composed by the Rev. Gary Davis. The track is performed by Shirley Manson and arranged and produced by Bear McCreary. The song was arranged by Bear McCreary specifically for the premiere episode of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, designed to fit the episode’s opening sequence. Instrumental and vocal tracks were recorded in early August, 2008. The idea to incorporate the song into the episode was originally from Josh Friedman, Executive Producer, although he allowed McCreary and Manson complete creative freedom to adapt the material. The lyrics of the spiritual are relevant to story points within the episode.

The song is haunting and beautiful, I’m really hoping that FOX is able to release the song in some capacity. BUT, Shirley Manson was not added to the cast for her phenomenal musical abilities … she has been added to the series to play an integral character this season. It goes without saying that Shirley deffo plays a bad-ass … but I shant spoil the surprise for those of you who have yet to watch last night’s season two premiere ep. After the jump, check out a few screencaps that reveal the true nature of Shirley’s character Catherine Weaver, check out a new promo poster which features her character and, in case you missed it or just want to watch it again, find the link to watch last night’s season two premiere ep online in full …

Bryan Abrams Of Color Me Badd Busted!

To the, tick-tock you don't stop
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Here’s a bit o’ news for those of you who remember the early ’90s with nostalgic fondness … Bryan Abrams who used to “front” the group Color Me Badd has been arrested in Oklahoma City, OK on assault charges. Now, I realize that some of you young’ns may not have any idea who Bryan Abrams or Color Me Badd is but those of us who grew up in the 90’s remember that they where the shizz back in the day. It’s a real shame that this is what has become of Mr. Badd:

If you’re under the age of 25, this story probably won’t mean jack to you. Bryan Abrams, one of the singers in the terribly awesome R&B band Color Me Badd, was arrested in Oklahoma City last Friday on charges of domestic abuse and assault and battery after allegedly threatening to kill his girlfriend. According to NewsOK.com, Abrams allegedly punched the woman in her nose and verbally threatened her by saying, “I’m a kill you! You and me! You and me!” Abrams is said to have had slurred speech and talked in “random sentence fragments.” Abrams is still behind bars, being held on a $4,000 bond.

Yikes! This sounds pretty scary. If true, I hope they keep his ass locked up for some time to come. It’s kinda hard to believe that it’s been 17 years since Color Me Badd first came on the scene. They hit it big with their first single I Wanna Sex You Up (which was first featured in the movie New Jack City) which then led to a string of hits (like All 4 Love, I Adore Mi Amor) from their debut album C.M.B. I remember Color Me Badd were regularly featured on the MTV dance show Club MTV which was hosted by Downtown Julie Brown (surely, many of you don’t even realize that MTV used to not only air music shows but used to air music videos as well) — Wubba Wubba Wubba! I believe the group guested on an episode of Beverly Hills, 90210 and I know for a fact that they toured with Paula Abdul on her Under My Spell Tour (they even did a song with her on her third album Head Over Heels) … my, how the mighty have fallen. After the jump, check out the now ancient music video for Color Me Badd’s biggest hit I Wanna Sex You Up

Vicki B. Shows Off Her New ‘Do For Marc Jacobs

Is she plain wiggin' out?
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Here are a few pics of Vicki B. and her apparent BFF Jennifer Lopez at the NY State Armory for the Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 Fashion Show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week last night in NYC. You will note that VB is sportin’ a new hair’do which *looks* like an actual cut but could be a really good wig … check it out:

Victoria Beckham is the talk of New York Fashion Week after unveiling a surprise new cut at the Marc Jacobs catwalk show yesterday. Posh has abandoned her famous Pob in favour of a daring pixie crop, reminiscent of Hollywood star Halle Berry’s 2002 Bond Girl look. She managed to upstage even Jennifer Lopez, who sat beside her in front row seats at the show. It was an eventful day for the mother of three – earlier she launched her first fashion collection based entirely upon her own personal style to a handful of fashion’s elite editors. She revealed even husband David had not seen all the finished pieces, although he regularly texted throughout the showcase for progress reports. The novice fashion designer described her collection of ten dresses as “classy”.

Yeah, I’ve inspected the hi-res photos closely and it really does look like she cut off all of her hair. To be honest, I don’t hate this new ‘do … I think that others pull off the pixie look better but this look kinda works for her. We’ll see how it looks in future pics if, in fact, this is a real haircut. Incidentally, J. Lo looked like her usual La Diva Latina self … but paled next to VB stealing the spotlight. Don’t you hate it when your BFFs hog all the limelight?

UPDATE: I just received confirmation that Vicki B. did cut her hair. Here is all the info on the stylist responsible for VB’s new look:

Celebrity hairstylist Garren of the GARREN New York Salon has created a striking new look for Victoria Beckham. Garren, who was smitten by Victoria’s energy and inspired by her incredible face shape and beautiful eyes said, “It was clear that we had to go short and create a new look that embraced her beauty, great personality and body.” About Victoria’s new look? “Think GAMINE…Jean Seberg, Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby or Audrey Hepburn, ” says Garren … Who better to bring Victoria short than Garren, who has tended to the tresses of Audrey Hepburn and delivered the famous short, sexy hair looks of the 90’s for supermodels Linda Evangelista, Amber Valetta and Kristen McMenamy.
