Xtina Aguilera Seizes The Stage
Here are a few pics of everyone’s favorite runner-up to Britney Spears, Xtina Aguilera singing her little heart out (and possibly busting a few blood vessels) on stage for a special celebratory performance for Trump Tower Dubai at a private residence in Bel Air, CA over the weekend. As usual, Xtina was rockin’ her too red lipstick (and a lovely Julien MacDonald dress, I might add) and was overdoing it a bit much up on that stage:
OK, don’t get me wrong … I honestly believe that Xtina is an insanely talented performer but I don’t know that I will ever get used to her overdramatic performance style. She, quite literally, looks like she is writhing in pain … or possibly giving birth … every time she performs. Her wild gesticulating always seems so forced and disingenuous … like she wants you to really believe she is giving the best performance you’ve ever seen and if she needs to look like she’s having a seizure to make you believe it, then so be it. I may be in the minority but I vastly prefer hearing Xtina perform over watching her perform.

All ‘artists’ have their quirks. I’d rather listen to her too, the bright red lipstick and scary routines make it creepy to watch sometimes.
She is most certainly a simply amazing singer, though.

I couldn’t agree more. Disingenuous is the perfect word to describe Christina Aguilera. She oversings every song and I don’t feel any emotion coming from her whatsoever. She has no idea how to connect to her lyrics which is why even though Britney has lesser vocal skills, she still makes me want to root for her because she knows how to move people. Christina could have a good normal voice but you’d never know because when she performs, she just keeps screaming. She always looks like she is about to self-combust and it’s not cute. I don’t know why she doesn’t take cues from divas like Mariah and Whitney who know how to tone it down. It’s like she has something to prove. It’s too bad because I think her ego is bigger than her talent and that is a bad recipe.

Great voice but her onstage antics are way too distracting. You find yourself focusing more on her diva interpretations instead of her singing. Blah.

Ugh, more Christina and Britney comparisons? Really?! Christina is an amazing performer with an amazing talent. Yes, her red lipstick can be a bit much; however, I will always prefer that too Britney’s cheetohs stained lips, ratted hair weave, no panties wearing, bare footed hillbilly look. I have seen Christina perform live in a private performance and had chills. Her performance was nothing short of amazing. She is in the vein of great artists as Aretha Franklin, Patti Labell, and Nina Simone. All of whom are known to perform with less than orthodox movements on stage.

that red lipstick has got to go! i didn’t think it was really her and thought it was a drag queen. she’s looked the same for years now, how boring..she needs to hire a stylist that knows how to switch it up. If she’s not careful, people will be completely bored with her and not really notice her at all any more cause she’s looked the same for so long.

Right…I’d much rather watch someone badly lip-synch while half-naked with a post-pregnancy body and horrible extensions to shitty songs that she can barely sing anyway. Give Xtina credit where it’s due, dude. How many Grammys does Britney have again? And how genuinely respected is she by the recording industry on a whole? Britney may have won the battle 10 years ago, but Christina won the WAR.

I agree with others about comparing the two. Come on, that was sooo 10 years ago and look who came out on top. Yes, Christina does tends to overdo it sometimes, but other than that, she still has come out a winner in my book. She has done everything the right way unlike some people. So good for her! And this is coming from someone that loves both!
And telling Christina to stop overdoing it with the singing is like telling Britney to stop overdoing it with the lip-syncing. LMAO

Did someone really just write that Britney knows how to move people???!!! Xtina sounds better burping then Britney does on any of her albums. Trent is so biased when it Britney that he gives her praise when she does the simplest things…. like washing her hair or not letting her son play with her cigarettes! Xtina deserves credit for being a better singer, entertainer, mother… there is no comparison!

I totally agree with Rach! “Oh Brit-Brit’s doing so good! She’s wearing decent clothes… she’s spending time with her kids…” Please! Xtina’s built a very strong career on her back, while listening to the whole world compare the two of them, when they’re not even on the same level. Xtina kept it real this whole time, and Trent keeps praising Britney after all that s*** she’s done… Go figure!

First of all, she needs to get that case of CRABS cleared up, stat. This is like the 4th picture in a row of her scratching her burning coochie, and it’s nasty!
Second of all, she is not THAT great of a singer, just ok…and she SUCKS live. ALWAYS trying to prove something, instead of just having fun & being herself.
Now that Leona Lewis is on the scene, Christina will fade into oblivion quickly…yes she has a better voice than Britney Spears (but Brit is a better performer) and Christina has never lived up to being “the next Mariah” or “the next Whitney” like people wanted her to do…

And, to Carol…I don’t think that you should be comparing Britney/Christina’s parenting…THEY BOTH SUCK…but at least Britney DOES know how to pick her child up…did you see Christina trying to hold her son? It lasted like 2 seconds than Jordan had to take him, because the way that she was holding that kid he looked SO uncomfortable.
Plus, she goes out clubbing EVERY night…I haveseen her with her son only once, and that was to whore him out at Gwen Stefani’s baby shower..so Christina is no “mother of the year” herself.
She only had a baby because it is “the thing to do” these days to stay relevant and get on magazine covers.

So she goes out every now and then. Can’t a mom have some fun too? She can afford a baby sitter you know. You really think “a good mom” stays at home with her child 24/7? Parents need a break too.
2. She has been photographed with Max multiple times. Get your facts straight.
3. Christina can hold her child just fine, just look at the Rock the Vote commercial.

Really stop comparing britney (trainwreck) to christina!!! lol… Ive seen christina live 3 times now and everytime it gets better and i love seeing her live she is really great… Too bad not everyone agrees but its cool.. I don’t think people who keep it real don’t get too big boob jobs and wear clown face make up. I’m sure Christina is a nice person and she does have talent but she has some issues to work out when it comes to her looks. She comes off as defensive and insecure in her interviews too. I agree that Britney and her are not really comparable but I think they are stuck with the comparisons until the end of time. I just personally prefer Britney because she seems like a regular down to earth person despite all the drama. Plus she just seems to have a sweet personality and her songs are catchier and she is just more fun to watch as a performer!

There is no comparison. Christina is a genuinely talented singer, although a little hard to watch at times. Britney is trash, and even her fans can’t claim with a straight face that she has a good voice.

Christina actually has talent and doesn’t have to rely on computerized tricks to make her sound better. Xtina is an amazing singer and has one of the best voices in the industry. You can hate but Christina aint going no where because she is the total package. She delivers and that is all that matters.

I just think singers start to get ‘LAZY’. It happens to all the greats – Whitney, Mariah … Instead of singing the lines properly and making an effort to hit notes, they start to go wooo / yeah or they leave the singing to the backups and just yell out a big note occasionally or at the end of the song … and yet their fans will still applaud and say how legendary they are …

Don’t say “everyone’s” favorite runner-up. There are plenty of true MUSIC fans that aren’t caught in the hype of whatever it is Britney does like you Trent. Christina is #1.
