Who Is Making The Most Money On ‘The Hills’
The site Popcrunch has published some interesting information about the current cast of MTV’s hit reality drama The Hills. They claim to know the salaries paid out to the season four castmembers (information gleaned from In Touch Weekly, I might add) and I think you’ll find these numbers very interesting … you’re never gonna guess how much it costs for us to get our weekly fill of Hills drama, y’all:
How much does MTV pay the stars of its smash unscripted series The Hills? Lauren Conrad earns $75,000 per episode-and that’s a fact that has left some of her series co-stars seething, a new In Touch Weekly scoop claims. “The only reason LC gets paid more than anyone else is because she demanded in her original contract that no one could ever get paid more than her.” “The salaries are based on who people care about watching more,” says a mole. “If you bring drama, you’ll get more money.” Fashion forward LC is expected to earn $1.4 million for the complete fourth season of The Hills. Let’s see how much her castmates earn.
Heidi Montag: $65,000 per episode ($1.25 million per year)
Spencer Pratt: $65,000 per episode ($1.25 million per year)
Audrina: $35,000 per episode ($665,000 annually)
Whitney: $20,000 per episode ($380,000 per season)
Brody: $10,000 per episode ($190,000 a year)
Lauren “Lo”: $10,000 per episode ($190,00 for The Hills Season 4)
Stephanie: $8,000 per episode ($152,00 for Season 4)
Frankie: $0
HMMM … the numbers make sense, as does the idea that castmembers that bring the drama get paid better, after all — it’s all about the ratings, baby. While I don’t necessarily believe that these numbers are totally correct (these sorts of leaks are never exactly right), I do believe that the numbers are proportionally correct. That said … poor Frankie. Why does the Latinoid have to be the one to get screwed? What do y’all think, are these folks worth this money?

There are teachers, policemen, firefighters, soldiers, nurses and other people who actually contribute to society who will never earn what some of these “actors/actresses” earn. What a sad commentary on priorities.

Kat: while I agree that there are people out there that should make more money….Does that mean Brad, Angelina etc should make less…? It’s an ‘entertainment thing’…Lauren should make more that the rest, after all it is a show following her after she leaves Laguna.

Aren’t these kiddies already rich?…well cause of their parents of course…but you should read this about how much LC and Audrina get paid.
Damn…and they still have other side projects earning them money. Especially LC with Avon, her own clothing line, and those cell phone commercials among other things.
I say for $75k LC has to be bringing the drama and is acting.

I agree that they make much more than they should as well as most other tv and movie actors/actresses out there but that is what our world has come to…BUT…with that said, I was actually suprised at these numbers. I thought that Lauren, Heidi and Spencer would be making more that what they do, I mean, it is the top rating show on MTV is it not?

Worth it? no. Send it to charity and make a series of filming people who need it more, and that’d be worth it. It’s a freaking joke how much people in the media get paid. It’s disgusting. I certainly couldn’t live with myself if I made millions of pounds marketing bin-bags as clothes and flaunting a fake chest/face/personality. Yuck.

Are you kidding me!?!?! I do not watch this show, but the only one out of the entire show that doesn’t seem like a fake ass ‘tard is Lauren Conrad. Heidi and Spencer don’t even deserve to breathe oxygen, why would they deserve $65,000 an episode??? They make me physically ill, saying they want to adopt an African child and name it “Dunk”, because he’ll be really tall. Her brain were removed during her breast augmentation. They are the only people I actually want to puke on. Lauren is the only one doing something besides this stupid show. Spencer and Heidi are famous for taking up the oxygen. None of them deserve $65,000 an episode, but if anyone deserves the biggest paycheck, it’s Lauren.

It is effed up that the cast gets paid this much. I must say it’s a vicious cycle because we feed the fire by watching the show, buying products that they endorse, and reading tabloid gossip such as this….. So blame the peole that are feeding into the show. I’m guilty as charged. I watch the damn show and then i feel so dirty afterwards. LOl!!!

I thought this was supposed to be “reality” tv. I think it’s one thing for these kids to be paid for during endorsements and such but to me being paid to do a tv show, and one with as much drama as the hills just makes it sound like acting. Does that mean that every other “reality” show on tv is paying their “stars” as well? I remember way back when the Real World was a hit show the housemates said they were paid a small stipened to obviously help them with their ongoing bills and such while they were on the show. These kids should be paid if at all along those lines! It’s just sad, that they are making this kind of money for doing basically nothing but going about their daily lives. Only in America
