Levi Alves Attends His First College Football Game

Unfortch for him, it was a Texas game
August 31st, 2008

The almost 2 month old Levi Alves McConaughey, first child of Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey, attended his first NCAA college football game yesterday in Austin, TX … daddy Matty took his newborn son and babymama to the University of Texas (his alma mater) to watch his team take on Florida Atlantic University. Here are a few pics of the happy family on the field at Texas Memorial Stadium yesterday afternoon:

Awww … I think it’s so precious that Matthew would want to take his son to the very first Texas homegame of the first season after his birth … it’s really cute seeing the little guy in his little UT headwrap. I’m sure Matthew is going to be a bit miffed when his first born son realizes that the University of Oklahoma is really the better school in both academics and athletics and decides to go there instead. So precious. All in all, tho, it looks like the family had a great day … UT beat FAU by a score of 52-10 and Matthew looked as pleased as punch. Camila looked bored to tears (and a bit confused by that finger gesture that Matthew was making her do) and I doubt Levi even woke up once … but still, they do paint a very cute family picture, don’t you think?

BTW, WTF? is up with the fact that college football has already begun this year?! Seriously, the summer *just* started and now we’re already into the Fall college football season … how depressing is that? Much congrats and love goes out to the University of Oklahoma Sooners for their defeat of Chattanooga by a score of 57-2. Sadness for the University of Michigan and Michigan State University for each losing their games yesterday :(

But Ohio State won! GO Bucks! (Sorry I had to rub it in a little bit….we also played Youngstown State!)

  6. PixieBassline Says:

Dang, that Baby is BIG! I’m glad I don’t have to carry one of those around! Looks like it would cause some back pain, to carry him in that sling.

  7. AggieAlum Says:

There is absolutely no way you can legitimately say that OU is better ACADEMICALLY than UT. hahahahahahahahaha, I really hope you are kidding! It’s a good school and all, but not as academically strong as UT by a long shot. No offense! :)

  8. Shaun Industry Says:

I (sorta) agree with AggieAlum. I’m a UT alumnus and, while their undergrad programs were not good at all – neither are OUs – 15 out of their their 25 post-grad programs are consistently ranked in the top ten out of all of the colleges (public and private) in the nation, edged-out only by schools like Harvard, Princeton and Yale, and 20 are ranked in the top twenty. As far as post-grad schools go, it is easily the best state school in the nation – it’s also one of the wealthiest and largest.

  9. Paz Says:

Ok well he’s going to a football game for his dad…Next up he’s going to go to a futebol game for his mama :)

  10. Kellye Says:

I love Matthew…starting the baby off the RIGHT way. Hook em little Levi! \m/

  11. Lindsay Says:

With Rich Fraud-riguez as the new coach of Michigan, they better get used to losing their games! LET’S GO WV MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!!

  12. Sarah Says:

Trent, I must disagree with many things. 1) UT Academics are better 2) THANK GOD FOOTBALL SEASON HAS STARTED, THANK YOU LORD FINALLY! 3) Hook ‘Em Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. ella Says:

I’m going to have to agree with Sarah, Trent. FINALLY! FOOTBALL!

  14. Ernie Says:

No way Shaun Industry! University of Michigan is most likely the best state school in the country, with all of its graduate programs being ranked in the top 5, and it’s business program ranked #1, beating Harvard, Yale, etc. :)

  15. Shaun Industry Says:

Well, it makes since that University of Michigan’s grad program in Accounting didn’t make it into the Top 10 – you’re incorrect… U of M’s programs aren’t all ranked #1, and neither is it’s Graduate Business Program. In fact, in many programs, it’s not even in the Top 10. And no, they haven’t beaten Harvard or Yale. You should go to UT and major in Accounting – it IS ranked #1 in the nation.

    BOOMER SOONER!!! TUCK FEXAS!!!

  17. Sassy K Says:

Camila Alves is so beautiful. I think she might actually be better looking than him. For real.

  18. heather Says:

i hope levi was wearing earplugs. football games are WAY too loud for little babies.

  19. Jennifer Says:

You are HILARIOUS. And honest too ;) It’s true, Oklahoma is better in athletics and academics. BOOMER SOONER!
(Sooner Born, Sooner Bred, and when I die, I’ll be Sooner Dead. Go OU).
    I love your blog.
Poor Matthew, he’d be so handsome in Crimson and Cream.

  20. Jennifer Says:

Oh and who tucks their t-shirts into their jeans. C’mon now, suddenly Matt has aged like 20 years. Soon he’s going to have a huge belly and be going bald while wearing jean shorts with his t-shirts and white socks pulled up mid calf with those hideous texas sneakers he’s wearing.
    Boo all around!

  21. Irma Says:

I’m glad that he’s raising the little one the RIGHT way.
    Give’em hell Horns!!!!
    HOOK’EM BABYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. UT is tougher than OU academically. I had an actual OU alum tell me that after we talked about both schools. I’m applying to UT and hopefully next year will be posting from Austin, Texas!

  22. Shaun Industry Says:

Good Going, Irma! I’m a UT Austin alum! HOOK ‘EM, HORNS!

  23. Megan Says:

Don’t worry Heather. Matthew has his own special box he always sits in at the games so the baby wasn’t actually in the crowd or affected by the noise. And they didn’t actually take the field like you see in the pictures until the game was over, so most of the crowd had left already because we were just winning by so much :)

  24. Michael Says:

    OU ROCKS!!!

  25. Cindy Says:

Sorry, but if an Aggie comes to the defense of UT, you know it has to be true! Hook ‘em horns!!!
Also, that is not a UT cop; it’s an Austin cop. UTPD wear blue.

  26. mimi Says:

all i have to say is that football or no football, austin texas is so much better than norman ok. the sooners can take the horns to the cleaners every year from here on out –and the ou fans still have to go home to norman.
but in all reality, austin texas is a horrible horrible place. please don’t move here.

  27. Hello Says:

“University of Oklahoma is really the better school in both academics and athletics ”

That made me laugh… OU is a complete dump of an academic school.

  28. sarah Says:

nice little OU thought bubble there.

i’m a Poke, so siding with OU is pretty hard for me, but anything’s better than UT!

(though, Austin is an AMAZING town)

  29. CC Says:

Sorry, Trent. I love your blog, but UT is a far better school than OU (hello, US News and World Report, Princeton Review, etc.). Recently, the OU football team has been better, but Texas has still won more games since the inception of the rivalry.
Besides, red dirt is just freaky.
