Kwame Kilpatrick Busted!
The Wayne County jail that has been honored with the duty of incarcerating the sitting mayor of Detroit, Michigan, Kwame Kilpatrick, has just released his lovely mugshot which I know present to all y’all:

In case you missed it earlier, Kwame Kilpatrick (the disgraceful current mayor of the city of Detroit) was sentenced to a spend a night in jail for violating the terms of his bond stemming from a criminal charge against him of obstruction of justice and perjury (read all about it HERE) and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department has just released his booking photo. It’s a dark day for the city of Detroit but hopefully it is the beginning of a bright new future … once Kilpatrick is removed from office and a more fitting mayor can be installed/elected.

See people this is a prime example of what happens when you are too cocky and think your “Above the Law”. He is definantly a Modern Day Gangster”. Never mess with the Judicial system. It’s sad because he is making it harder for our young generation and African Americans to succeed in a political setting/office etc. because of his foolishness. He needs to apologize “his self” to Detroit citizens and all of our Police Officers and firefigheters who put there life on the line everyday. Sad day Detroit, this is not funny :(…

Governor Granholm—grow a pair and have him removed from office. It will not cause some “rift” in your political party, because the rift is already there. If anything, your efforts would be applauded.
The citizens of Detroit deserve better.

I hope after this he has the brains to at least step down so the city can hopefully try to re-build what he has tore down. He has not only tarnished the City of Detroit but the state of Michigan as well and he needs to realize this and resign.
On a happier note I bet he sleeps with one eye open in the pokey!

Tracy’s right…his jig is up and he should remove himself from office…and all his friends… and family…oh yeah, and hangers-on.

His mama spoiled his azz and prolly took him to the same church Obama went to for 20 years and didn’t know anything but think he’s “kind of the world” crap.
Humility is a good thing, preachers.

I’d like to think that people of Detroit will not support Kwame in the future, but given their willingness to support less than honest candidates in the past (read: Mayor Young) I’m not so sure.
The ciy of Detroit *is* worth saving, but it seems to dig its own grave time and time again. Enough with the status quo (read: Detroit City Council) and to hell with the Big 3–that’s a dinasaur that has been dying a slow death over the last 25 years.
It’s time to clean house and cut our losses. Let’s begin again and make Detroit the city we know it can be and take a step into the future and leave our past behind.
Trent, take it easy in Cali.
