James Franco Does ‘GQ’ Magazine
James Franco, who currently stars in the new film Pineapple Express, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of GQ magazine. In his coverstory interview, Franco offers his apologies for many things including some “awful movies” he’s appeared in, for “being a jerk” on set and for “trying to be the next James Dean” (among other things) and I, for one, forgive him. He also talks a bit about his onscreen kiss with Sean Penn in this Fall/Winter’s new movie Milk (a movie wherein he wears a prosthetic penis for all of his full-frontal nude scenes — for which I do not forgive him). Here are a few of Franco’s GQ photos:

Move over, Brokeback Mountain. There’s a new same sex smooch about to heat up the big screen. In the upcoming drama Milk (out in December), James Franco kisses Sean Penn. Penn plays Harvey Milk, the country’s first openly gay elected official, a San Francisco city supervisor who was assassinated in 1978. Franco plays Scott Smith, one of his boyfriends. “It wasn’t twelve hours, but it certainly felt like it,” Franco tells September’s GQ of the lip-lock. “The first kiss of the movie was out on Haight Street, with, like, 200 people watching, outside. It was a crane shot — I’m sure in the end it will be a really cool shot, but it starts close and then it takes maybe a minute,” he says. “That’s a long time on film with everybody watching and, like, a fake mustache getting in your mouth.” Referring to Penn’s character in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Franco jokes the kiss “was long enough that you couldn’t help thinking, ‘Oh, my God, I’m kissing Spicoli.’”
It must be said that James Franco has got a pair of great lips so I think I might be interested in seeing him engage in a little man-on-man liplock action. To be honest, I’m not all that interested in seeing Franco all gross and scrubby in his current movie Pineapple Express … the whole stoner thing is really not interesting to me (seeing the last Harold and Kumar film pretty much sealed the deal for me) but I am interested in this new film about Harvey Milk (go figure). Franco really does clean up nicely, I hope his scrubby days are behind him.

Pineapple Express was actually a good movie in my opinion. The action scenes were pretty sick too. James Franco was definitely the highlight of that movie though. He made his character more than just some lame drug dealer.

Pineapple Express was amazingly funny, I’ve never laughed so hard during a movie. It is totally worth going to see! Plus anyone who is a fan of the Freaks and Geeks days needs to go support.

I just saw Pineapple Express and pretty much laughed like an idiot through the whole thing. Plus I’ve developed a big crush on James Franco, he’s pretty cute in the movie despite the scruffiness. He spends the whole movie running around in a tight shirt, you should give it a chance Trent! :)
