First Listen: Jessica Simpson’s ‘Do You Know’
It looks like Jessica Simpson’s transition from Pop star to Country star is nearly complete. In the past few weeks, Jess has been on the road playing to new fans at various country and state fairs and, for some reason, casinos as well. Here are a few pics of Jessica’s performance at Niagara Falls Fallsview Casino last night:

Jessica Simpson’s new Country album Do You Know is finally available for preview ahead of its release on September 9th. WQIK in Jacksonville, FL is offering fans (and the curious) our first listen to her Country Music debut album:
I’ve listened to a few of the songs … I will say her voice is well-suited to Country music … I like the title song with Dolly Parton, Do You Know. What do y’all think?

Um….wow. That dress is, just…special. Leftover drapes and picnic blankets? For the record, just adding a steel guitar doesn’t make it country. She’s doing a bit better vocally, but she’s still doing some of the “whispery” crap. Plus, she doesn’t have the twang. Overall, not horrible, but…something’s missing.

I’ve always been a HUGE fan of Jessica. I absolutely love her and everything she does. She is such a pure artist that isn’t in the tabloids all the time b/c she stays true to herself and doesn’t consume herself in the paparazzi. Yes, she had a bitter divorce in the media but that is something that comes with the terriorty. We are HUGE Cowboys fans and are thrilled that Jess is with Tony. GO JESSICA!

riffy and Mrs Shermender- you both are really dumb. the only reason she is singing at state fairs and other small venues is because she needs to advertise her country music first. People need to hear her music and judge before she goes on a big tour. think about it. And she obviously is still a big deal because trent is writing about her. And she is for sure not a z-lister. she is just not in limelight as much as every other social climber.

Wow….”doesn’t consume herself in the paparazzi.” Are you for real? She bring the attention and drama to herself talking about Tony still calling Carrie, blah, bla, blah. I mean, look at every single magazine for the past couple of weeks, and listen to her OWN words on the country radio interviews recently. Carrie said one sentence *months* ago (when Jess & Tony were “on a break” btw) and Jessica has talked about this in interview after interview. Yes, Carrie probably shouldn’t have said that, but Jess could’ve just addressed it once and let it go. It’s sooooo high school! I used to be a big Jessica fan, but her whole attitude about this definitely soured my opinion.

If you enjoy country… its pretty good for what it is. All sorts of former pop/rock people have country music out now. Bon Jovi, Jewel, Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish…
The Hootie song is VERY good. If you like that sort of thing

I think it sounds really nice. I love Dolly Parton she is definitely respected in the Country business. What a great play on a collaboration for the two of them.

I give this girl major credit! She has dealt with some major crap slung at her and still she has not gone loopy, popped out a bunch of babies (like some kind of clown car), shaved her head late at night or locked herself in a bathroom somewhere only to be cart off in an ambulance. She is trying to re-invent herself and move on. I support her for that. YEAH!

I love the songs on this cd. I can’t wait to pick up a copy. She really lets her voice do the songs justice and puts forth a great deal of emotion while singing. Willy and Dolly are behind her and so am I.
