Britney Spears Talks To ‘OK!’ Magazine
At long last, Britney Spears finally sits down for her first real interview in 2 years in order to give some insight on her life from her own perspective. We’ve heard things about her life from various other outside sources but even the stuff we got from the people closest to her in her inner circle cannot equal the sort of insight that can be gleaned from her own words. Last year, Britney disastrously tried to do an interview with OK! magazine and we all know how that turned out … this week, Brit Brit really sits down with OK! magazine and gives an interview the magazine proclaims is not to be missed:
From her nasty divorce and custody battle to her now-infamous performance at the 2007 VMAs to the dark period under the control of “manager” Sam Lutfi, it’s safe to say that the last two years were not the best in the young life of Britney Spears. And now, one year after an erratic and distracted Brit stormed out of an OK! photoshoot, a very different woman sits down to talk openly about her two adorable sons, her father and the future of her nearly sidetracked career. Having spent her young life in the spotlight, the 26-year-old mother of two tells OK! that she hopes her boys choose not to choose a career in entertainment. “I’d love them unconditionally if they wanted to,” she explains. “I’d just as soon they have a more normal childhood.” Perhaps some of Britney’s reluctance comes from seeing her little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, have to face so much public scrutiny over her recent pregnancy. “I was shocked a little bit,” says Brit. “She’s always been the baby, and now the baby was having a baby. It was mind-boggling.” The pop superstar also tells OK! that she wants her boys to be close to her newborn niece. “I’m sure the boys will be like big brothers to Maddie,” she says. In an unexpected twist, Britney’s downward spiral in recent years ultimately helped to heal the bonds between the singer and her parents, Lynne and Jamie Spears. “God has a way of taking something bad and turning it into something good,” explains Jamie, who also spoke exclusively to OK!. “If this hadn’t happened, I would never have been able to get back with my daughter and have this relationship I have with these two little boys.” Another positive that’s risen out of her darkest days is Britney’s new album, which she expects to hit stores in six to nine months. “I think it is more urban,” she tells OK!. “I’m writing every day, right here at the piano in this living room … This is my best work ever.”
OMG OMG OMG … she sounds great! I dreamed of the day that Britney Spears would get her life back in order and not just look like she is doing better but really actually get better. Everything that we’ve seen in the past few months has really gone on to prove that she has actually gotten her life back in order. I can’t *wait* to read this interview. I cannot even tell you how pleased I am to hear her sounding so well. And she’s doing it properly … little by little, bit by bit … not rushing into things too fast, not giving 45 interviews at once … she’s taking her time and taking care of biz. Welcome back, Britney! We’ve missed you something awful :)

Ever since Britney Spears has been getting better and better, I’ve found myself more and more listening to her music. I am kinda dying for some new stuff – I look forward to six to nine months! Haha! But for now, I am happy with seeing her looking and – obviously – feeling great! :D

OMG I can’t wait to buy this. She just sounds so much different when she talks now. She is actually making coherent sentences instead of rambling. Yea…I can’t wait to hear her new stuff. I hope it is as good as her last album. I loved that CD.

She sounds better, but I still don’t think the hyperventilation is in order. Honestly, wouldn’t it be okay if she just lived off what she’s already earned, and tried to have a sane, peaceful life? Must she keep putting out more of the same old nasal talk-singing and weird dancing with t-rex hand motions?

i agree with Julie. she should live off what she has and just be with her boys. she doesnt have to prove anything to anyone, she just needs to work on getting better. and i wouldnt be getting to excited cause she made it through ONE interview.

I’m with you Trent. I love Brit and keep pulling for her. I feel like Britney and I have been through many ups and downs over the years. But, I will never forget the first time I saw her on MTV. I want that girl back!!

Did anyone see the new promo commerical for the VMA’s with Britney? MTV just aired the commerical a while ago, but this is the first time I had seen it. The promo is really cute and Britney seems the way she was before all the mess. She did a really good job with it and I couldn’t be happier! I love her!

Couldn’t they have got a newer picture of her after she recently went this past week or so and had her hair redone? Now her hair looks great, but she looks absolutely horrendous in this cover photo. It looks like she’s wearing a bad wig, and that’s probably because she’s had so many weaves that most of her hair pretty much is a wig.
I can see why she doesn’t have equal custody of her kids now, and why she probably will never have it. She just doesn’t make wise decisions. She can’t even properly govern herself, let alone two growing boys. It’s just a bad idea to put ones kids out in the public limelight for any reason. It makes them even more of a target for the paps (and real sickos) than they ever were before. You know very well that she gave the ok for this to be the cover.
That’s just completely horrible judgment. When they are very little babies it’s a bit different because most babies look the same when they are newborns, but now they are young children and can be made easy targets. It’s completely against what’s in the better interest of these boys.
That being said, all of this talk about her possibly performing on the VMA’s or co-hosting is just wishfull thinking and nothing more. Her involvement with the VMAs ends with something they can have time to cut or edit and that pretty much leaves only the promos. When your dealing with someone with a mental disorder, days are always hit or miss. One day they are sharp as a tack and seem completely normal, and the next they ready to bite your head off, or shave off all their hair and stab you and your car with an umbrella.
However, MTV might be begging for a major break down to happen live though because they know it will mean big news and ratings for them, and that’s why they’ll treat Britney as a freak show and have her on stage in some way again this year. The girl just is not ready. I seriously doubt she ever will be.

Kudos to you trent for actually stickin through and believe in Brit. I’m not gonna lie, I already had pegged her for suicide last summer and couldn’t understand why you were still rooting to for her. Guess that shows you are a true devoted and caring fan.

‘The Tenant’ – would you just walk away from someone because you thought they were ‘pegged for suicide’? I don’t mean to get heavy, but that is when people need to gather around that person … Back to Britney … I do wonder what kind of hold OK magazine has over this family? OK has yet to put a decent photo of them on the cover! OK freely talked about Britney’s ‘disasterous’ photo shoot – when she was going through her bad time. Then there was the ‘exclusive’ on Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy and those awful looking pics of the family with Maddie. I hope Britney realises in future that there are other cool magazines out there that will give her back her credibility.

I’m proud of Britney and her family for pulling it together. Unless you actually are Britney, you should not judge, for you will never know every detail about her and her story. As someone who is also bi polar, I hope Brit keeps improving and stays on her meds.
